  • I know more than you ever will. Watch my show amplified

  • @splcube FYI, if you want to really know how to install shit, you should find out what is the optimal cubic foot box for your subs. The DVQ's by infinity's spec calls for a 1.75 cubic foot ported box. the amp box i had made to hold different amps, which were later replaced with kappa amps.

  • Dude....thats the sexiest install ive seen for the amps and subs

  • @claudius2maximus i have the same four channel and kappa 6.1 ,but the amp goes into protection after you give it some volume. any suggestions on what to check

  • @bfonfield1534 sorry for the late response, I've been working long days after the storm we had last week on the east coast. Anyway, what have you check so far, when does it happen, if it's going right into protect as soon as you turn it on make sure your wiring is properly connect. check the fuses and make sure with a VOM that your remote and rca's aren't pushing out extra voltage.

  • @bfonfield1534 my buddy has an issue where his kenwood is dumping to much voltage through the rca's causing a hum and crackling. is the amp brand new was it working prior? it's possible to get a defective from factory, i had one a long time ago with the ref 611a mono block amp, right out of the box went into protect, called infinity and they took care of it.

  • @bfonfield1534 the phone number to contact them at is 516.682.6438, speak to the out sourced rep and explain to them that you were told to be forwarded to a level 2. they will ask you a few questions like, name, #, product, etc ... and you'll be transferred to someone who actually knows what the product looks like and sorry to say it like this but speaks English. post back if you need anything else, also my email is The1Maximus@gmail.com

  • Nice build man!

But i really need to know if the kappa one is good because i want to buy it, so any advice would be helpful! :D

Plz somebody with some experience or who knows someone with this amp, plz reply

    THNX!

  • @krikke666bass i've installed 6 of these amps and never had an issue ... small powerful and never clips

  • cool as fuck man

  • Also... how thick are the fans? I don't want them to fit right. Most that I am finding are an inch thick. But, your using 3/4 in MDF and it looks flush. How is that? thanks

  • @InfinityZane The fans are indeed 1 in. What I did was when I cut the hole for them I made sure the fan slide in exact. When I carpeted it, I carpeted over the hole and then cut the opening folded the cuts in to make the hole seamless. Then took the fan and pushed it in. The extra carpet keeps it in place and leave a tiny bit stick out inside of the box. I used that extra space to tuck in the speed controller for the fan.

  • How do the fans run? What are they wired to?

  • @InfinityZane I used a relay in the rear if you look at the vid again when I pan over to the amp on the right I point it out. What I did was used the remote wire as the trigger for the relay and grabbed power and ground from the distribution blocks I had by my cap from the 4 gauge feeds. The output from the relay then fed the remote for both amps and the 4 fans.

  • @InfinityZane To wire in the fans is pretty simple. Most pc fans come with a 3 pin to molex adapter. On the adapter there should be a black and red for power and a white for the pc temp controller which your can cut off. On the adapter you'll want to cut the big molex plug off and just wire it up like anything else, red +12v power and black to ground. I used the antec fans because of the separate speed controller on it.

  • @InfinityZane just so you know, I'm actually selling the amp rack with the fans. I took all of my equipment out of it so you'll only be getting the amp rack carpeted with the fans. Nothing else.

  • nice sound i love the Kappa Stuff. Hey man wich is the max current draw of this amp? it has 3 x 40amp (120 amp) fuses for only 800 watts rms?

  • @belexxes 76 ampere is the max current consumption as mentioned in the Kappa One Service Manual, "Yes the Service Manual"...Still I'm wondering why the fuses are that high !

  • Beautiful job very clean. How much would you estimate this system cost you? I would like to do the same to my car.

  • @Zackrdill, if I would have paid someone to do this and paid full price for everything well over 6K. Because I do it all myself and I get a nice hook up, Maybe $1,500.

  • @claudius2maximus Nice thank you, and again it looks great and I'm sure it sounds better

  • I WANNA SEE THEM IN ACTION !!!

  • i love infinitys i have a vid myself on the 120.9w sub and i jus recently got the Alpine CDE-123 deck freaking awesome.

BUT MAN where is the music! lol

  • super clean man...... good job

  • Aw man i wanted to hear it bump :(

  • dude thats super clean!!

  • @twdd3 Thank you very much.

  • nice setup man!!! I got all infinity products as well

  • That's fucking badass. It's very clean, high quality and probably a great sounding system too. Nice setup.

  • wow i didnt think it would look good but boy was i wrong. great work.

  • @sothrowedmex Thank you very much

  • DO your amps overheat in the box?

  • @MtnXfreeride they get hot enough to the touch but never had them overheat. the pc fans I have in the box bring and take out enough air to keep it running

  • @claudius2maximus good to hear, I have a Kappa Five amp and a set of kappa perfect 6.1 components on the way.

  • @claudius2maximus

you must push pull the fans

so for each amp you must wire 1 fan is pushing air in the box and the other one is sucking air out

  • @claudius2maximus

sorry i diddent hear you saying that you made 1 air intake and 1 exhaust

by the way very nice custom buildt box

  • NICE SET UP

  • 10*

  • Excelente trabajo!!! ( nice !! ) wow! Impressive!!

  • hey bro that is one of the cleanest amp rack i have ever seen bro good job nice set up. make a video i want to hear them bump

  • @sl1ck213 thank you very much, ive been working on trying to get a video up with some audio but the clips never sound as good on the pc as they do in person so im trying to get the best recording i possibly can. as soon as i get one i'll post it

  • Wow thats a very organized amp box! i like it!!

  • @Jakeanator12 thank you

  • Hey, awesome set up. I know this video is fairly old but I have a quick question. Do you have or had any problems with the Alpine KCA-SC100 losing signal, thus resulting in you having to buy a new one?

  • @Nickgenovese08 i'm not really sure what you mean by lose signal but once in a while it either won't turn off or it won't turn on.

I resolved both of these in a very simple manner. when it won't turn off pull the radio fuse. when it won't turn on turn the car back off and wait a few seconds and try again

  • @Nickgenovese08

    PART 2

I don't use fm radio so I can't comment on that my Sirius had worked flawlessly since day 1 and up to about 3 weeks ago everything was working well with my iPod, but now the plastic on the connector of the 6in USB dongle that comes with the deck, broke and now the wires have to be held in a certain position to work properly.

    other then that though nothing.

  • wow GREAT build I like it

does that 12'' sub come in a 10''?

  • @2fast4all yea it does it's the

    Infinity Kappa Perfect 10DVQ

  • @claudius2maximus Thanks!!

  • very nicely done. infinity sounds amazing

  • Nice job, really impressive, I love the brand and amp storage but door speakers were a let down. saw your head unit and ipod hook up AWESOME !!!. Cool idea to have space under amp rack. WOW @ all the wires.

  • @xambone How are the door speakers let downs?

    They are very powerful

  • Great Job Mate! 5*'s!!

  • yo what are good amps that u can run the kappa components 6.1 on? Also do they sound good without being amped?

  • I've heard them on a Rockford amp, and alpine and an infinity.

I really didn't notice a big difference but the thing that got me the most is that. to hear the music loud I had to crank up the Rockford almost all the way up. sounded good but your over working the amp by running it full throttle. the alpine was at about a half and the infinity was at about a quarter.

    .

  • now with the infinity amp this bothered me a little. when I would blast the radio it always sound clear. I knew not to go past a certain point to aleviate any clipping but it was high enough that I was on the edge. by doing that and blasting it for 4 months I melted one of the copper coils in all of my crossovesr.

  • I called infinity right away and luckily they had 2 new pairs at my door step within days. when I got them in I went through all the settings with a level 2 tech and he reassured me I had everything setup properly it was probably a bad box from the stock. I haven't had any issues since. just remember the sound quality will be only as good as your wiring. amps are vital to for the quality a swell, but if your using crap wires a good amp will sound like crap

  • @Unbox2Review in my opinion, Alpine PDX 4.100 or 4.150 or Infinity Kappa Four (what this guy has) I purchased the 6.1s today, and I'm going to be using the pdx-4.100.. basically infinity recommends a two channel with at least 35 watts rms.. in my opinion, any four channel (or two if you want to run four speakers on separate amps) with at LEAST 100 rms (CEA rated of course) and not a junk brand

  • I'm thinking about getting that radio but I dont have an iPod. Can I use a thumb drive.

  • @ej6060 yes you can... you can use any kind of usb memory storage... i have yet to test it but i think you can use an external hdd as well

  • @ej6060 you can use a thumb drive on any radio with usb input... I like my alpine 9886 since it has a usb AND an ipod jack... so I used a 8gb thumb, then bought a Touch, and now I just switch the source in between the two...
