What's that dinging? I only hear it when the AAC suppressor is shot. Surely that isn't the suppressor, or is that just the other guy missing or not shooting steel?
The AAC flash hider inside it is open-ended like a Vortex, and it rings like a tuning fork when you shoot it or bump it into things. I don't find it that bothersome.

all rounds/bullets are hearing safe as long as you're not a pussy. but seriously, even unsupressed 5.56, you wouldnt really need it unless ur a bitch.
Impulse noise above 140 dB does cause permanent hearing loss. Noise below 140 dB can cause hearing loss depending on exposure time. It has nothing to do with being a pussy. ;-)
That's great for you. However, neither your ignorance about hearing loss nor your bravado are not protecting you from the permanent hearing damage you are sustaining. What you think is "fine" is you making yourself deaf. Seriously.
I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. Its nice.
OK... so that day my can suffered a baffle strike and was rebuilt by AAC. It no longer pings when the can is on the rifle. I get soooo tired of reading about AAC cans pinging on youtube videos.
All open prong flash hider designs make a ping sound. The Blackout, Vortex, BE Meyers, etc. all ping. Some people say it goes away if the barrel is not free floated but all those rifles had free float rail systems. Since the prongs do not come into contact with the interior of the silencer they are still free to vibate even with the silencer mounted.
The SPR's mount is bettter, it is easier to manipulate than the Surefore mount and seals better. You can actually see a jet of gas ascaping the surefire mount and hitting the Front sight.
Ping! Ping! Ping

@sylentmyst most likely the sound is from steel targets

Nope, it is the Blackout "Tuning fork" flash hider that is making the pinging sound. A common issue with tuniing fork style flash hiders.

With those 5.56/.223 suppressors in place, could you NOT wear hearing protection safely?
DriBak 2 years ago
They are hearing safe. The other bays were shooting unsuppressed machineguns most of the day.

So what was the general consensus on the better can?

Both cans are equally quiet to the ear.

"Sounds" good to me. Thanks for the reply.
