  • from who are the female vocals in this song?

  • @iznobest

    Cia Hedmark.

  • what is translation?

    (Tjell Fjell the best!)

  • @steffieiih Swedish

  • Svältvinter = Winter of famine

  • this song is the best song, sooo good!

  • English Translation: Starving Winter

The performing snowstorm by the herculic primary rock,

Over icecrowned horizon in origin power

From the mountainridge's shoulder blade the birch bark horn is heard,

    Complaining tones in starving regions

With the hungers grief entity as dragging yoke

Emaciated, hollowed-eyed, with abdomens that slits,

Settlers fate swept in the winters veil

Where the storm ravages and leaving only ruins behind

  • Weave thick is the snowfall which gives a pale illumination

    The coldness proclaims its reignright,

Now the nourishment is gone, everything feels like a fevershiver,

It gnaws in the soul in the mountain dynasty

The lifespark fades because of the insatiable needs

"A kingdom, for meat and bread"

From the ravens nest the scorning laughter is heard

    As the polarnight slowly approaches

  • And mountain avalanches are born at the holds of the tops,

A rumbling armypower in a furious journey

It becomes the villages devastation, and the avalanche is the sacrificial priest

And the prison of the drifts is the shrine

    Frost-throned they loses their consciousness,

To a tomblike serenity they go to sleep

  • Är du svensk? Var läser du spanska?

  • this is awesome!!! i always get the goosebumps when i hear this song!!!!

Sólo lo he estudiado 1 mes.

  • @Triiarii perfecto español para quién estudia a 1 mes

  • This is just plain awesome!

  • Beautyful...

  • He sounds like the Swedish Chef on the Muppet Show. While I can't understand the lyrics, obviously, I like the music.

  • lol XD do you really things so

  • yeah it reminds me of opeth's hessein peel's intro

  • could somebody translate the lyrics pls

  • porcelain heart from opeth!!!!!

  • It seems that Opeth ripped off Vintersorg, since this song was released on 1998 ;)

  • the female vocals is that the girl from carved in stone?

  • Cia Hedmark from Otyg and Casket Casey.

  • long life vintersorg!!

  • The opening riff remind me of Opeth.

  • Reminded me of a song that came on my windows media player o.o

    Dust in teh wiiind

  • Vintersorg remind me my mountains

  • The growling made it, have you no sense of music? It goes perfect with the build up. It's all these excuciatingly beautiful female vocals, followed by nothing but anger and hate. The contrast is what makes it special, the whole song is so well put together and you complain about a few seconds of screaming? You sir are a dolt.

  • A dolt? Oddly I feel flattered that somebody just didn't call me a cunt. If I felt in the mood for a song to have a comparision between light and dark I'd go listen to Ulver or Opeth. However I was in the mood for a band that could sing and not just growl. The song prior to the growling was just that and until I got a growl. It spoiled the moment for me, a week ago which was the first time I heard the song hence why I left the comment. However upon further listening did I come to apreciate it.

  • That's a good little lad or lass, whatever your sex.

  • A lad not exactly little though.

  • i love there songs like this they just move you and you can hear the intrakacy ( sorry i know i spelled that wrong) of the language wich adds to the beauty

  • i listen to them while smoking ganja

  • its times like this I wish I knew Swedish =/

  • genial

  • Epic song with great lyrics. Mixed modern/old swedish.

  • This is modern Swedish, though it's more metaphorical than the "normal" spoken language.

  • it is not middle ages swedish.

  • Min favorit me Vintersorg... Tackar som fan!

  • They sing in swedish, but its and old version of swedish that was spoken here in the middle-ages and earlier.

  • Well, not really. Modern swedish but in an imaginative way with a few old words sprinkled over it.

  • do they sing in Norwegian?

  • @BarabaChaos93 No, this is Swedish

  • I hear this cd when i play with medieval II: teutonic campaign. Great!

  • i listen to it while wandering through forests..
