  • I am a Conservative it is shocking people like Ben Nelson selling out. We need bans on Congress and their staff lobbying for money after they left congress. They should be allowed to lobby for causes, but not for money.

  • you forgot the "O" in Earl Pomeroy's name i noticed because i live in North Dakota

  • "conservative democrat" Didn't that use to be a contradiction?

  • And we have a president who couldn't wait to sign the legislation which sold us out. Obama is set up to make millions after his term, too. Believe it.

  • @andotech I agree. I am 99.999999% sure that Obama will lobby for GE.

  • They could always pass a law saying no elected official can work for a lobby group or financial, or whatever conflicts there maybe. But that would be like doing the right thing, and we know that's not going to happen

  • @inesison the right thing would be to flat out stop lobbying all together. but seeing as they won't do what you say, i think my theory is even more of a stretch.

  • *show

  • @hofifut Shoe me evidence how they have tried to help average americans? All evidence point to them being on the hill for the top 1 % interest or money

  • (con't from below)

You really think a politician who spends 10 or 20 years working 70 hr work weeks is doing it for a payoff 30 years later? A person who is willing to endure public scrutiny only for a monetary benefit? I'm not saying politicians wouldn't use their experience/contacts to help them make money after they exit politics, but to suggest they enter politics or base their votes solely on the money is a bit of a stretch.

But it follows Cenk's narrative, so that's why he continues

  • @hofifut Billy Tauzin who sould out the American people

    with his medicare part D

dude sorry, this is old news what Cenk is saying is not something new

    just ask Jack Abramoff ?

now the most famous lobbbyist Abramoff is also lying ?

even though he was sentenced to jail for bribing lawmakers

and admitted everything later, and i should believe you that

politicians are hard working ppl. lol nice try

  • Since Cenk's articulate, and can formulate an argument, he's got to be correct, right? All you impressionable TYT viewers get led around the nose by the very same guy who a short while ago ridiculed you progressives as weak kneed bleeding heart libs, just like he ridicules conservatives (for other reasons) now.

Regarding this clip, his endless rant of how politicians do everything for the money is a trite narrative that sounds logical on the face, but doesn't make sense (con't above)

  • Can we stop mistakenly calling it "lobbying" and call it what it is: bribery, please?

  • He's going to be working a lot for a man who is retiring..

  • I wish the revolving door would be talked about more in the main stream.

  • These are the types of politicians that we need to get rid of. Ben Nelson represents everything that's wrong with politics in this country. WE NEED LEGISLATION NOW TO STOP THIS SHIT!!!!

  • @BramSLI1 These douchebags will never pass such legislation.

  • Those conservative democrats are just as right-wing as the liberal democrats. The Democratic Party is right-wing and not progressive.

  • @UDSS The US definition of left-wing is very much on the right when you compare it to a true liberal country like the Netherlands.

  • What makes ME a good demonstrator? If I were a BAD demonstrator, I wouldn't be sittin' here, DISCUSSING IT WITH YE', NOW WOULD I?

  • @mweibleii I don't think making the govt larger or smaller will change anything, as far as corruption goes. Lets stick with more direct democracy and transparency. Only then can the large/small govt debate resume. The problem is fascism, not size of govt.

  • It's too bad I don't believe in hell, because it's very pleasing to think of these fascists burning for an eternity.

  • I get so tired of Blue Dog Democrats like Nelson. I'm not surprised that Nelson is getting set up by those corp lobbying firms on K Street.

  • dogs.

  • The US government is like an electric company. They have power for sale.

  • Disgusting, disgusting. Why haven't the other Dems exposed these frauds years ago?

  • @FedupwithR because they're in on it? or it's a lot of double think.

  • i dont get it,dont you guys have some unticorruption organisations down there in usa? every time i watch similar video im so surprised, they get all that money from rich folks, every one knows it,but no one does anything. im confused

  • Benedict Arnold Nelson, what a tool.

  • Look at that lonely little dislike...

  • "I weep for the liberty of my country when I see at this early day of its successful experiment that corruption has been imputed to many members of the House of Representatives, and the rights of the people have been bartered for promises of office."

Andrew Jackson "It is to be regretted that the rich and powerful too often bend the acts of government to their own selfish purposes."

Andrew Jackson "Fear not, the people may be deluded for a moment, but cannot be corrupted."

    Andrew Jackson

  • ANYONE IS IS OLDER THEN 30 YEARS OLD RUN FOR CONGRESS OR THE SENATE IN YOUR DISTRICT/STATE LET TAKE BACK WHAT RIGHTFULLY BELONGS TO "WE THE PEOPLE" THAT IS EVERY ASPECT OF THE GOVERNMENT. "The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first."

    Thomas Jefferson

  • Yep, it's past time to basically overthrow these motherfuckers. Major change needs to happen soon. Almost all of the Congress is bought. Republitards and Democrooks. I remember years ago a stupid series show about K Street with James Carville and his stupid wife being in it. It was actually shown as something people would like and want to see! You know, as something positive instead as the weird slime I thought it was. Didn't last long of course. Time to exterminate the rats in Washington now.

  • Sometimes I wonder what our government would look like if only pre-existing millionaires could run for office. I wonder if we'd see less corruption.

  • Yes, he's a commodity.

  • My first name is Nelson and I didn't hear the "Ben" part at the beginning of the video so I thought Cenk was talking to me. I was on a playlist so I didn't click on the video. Oh, and did I mention it is 2am? Yea I was pretty freaked out.

  • THANK YOU! The HONESTY is refreshing AND NEEDED!

  • I'm for lobbyist being paid however much money a corporation is willing to pay. But the corporations should not be able to give the money to those in any form of office.

  • Ben Nelson is gonna make a few million easy. Isn't it great :D?

  • Ben Nelson is TRULY Sarah Palin's DICKLESS and BALLESS BITCH and PUSSY! Palin is VASTLY SUPERIOR to this ass-clown and she will kick him out of DC completely! Palin will completely PURIFY DC of this corruption!

  • @ecwaufisxtreme Palin isn't running for anything you retard. Even as a joke, you sound retarded saying anything about Palin.

  • Those corrupt democrats are worth a million dollars each. You don 't have to train them.

  • @TheImpeacher

Sarah Palin will completely PURGE DC of these corrupt politicians in BOTH parties!

  • Fuck Ben Nelson; did a great disservice to the label "Democrat."

  • @gatorhighlights4

the label "Democrat" does a great disservice to the REPUBLIC - cause democracy is nowhere mentioned in the constitution or declaration of independence.

  • Ben Nelson was an absolute asshole!

  • @goru426 "was"?

  • To put things into perspective, Cenk would be akin to your average Egyptian who marched on the street so happy that the Military was finally going to do something about corrupt big government. ONLY to find out, shit, MORE big government is NOT the answer ... they found out too late,,, sadly.

    -

Obama doesn't care about you. Do you really think the millions of Citizens harassed by the TSA has ANYTHING to do with "Islamic Terrorists". It's YOU the government is oppressing. And you want MORE of it??

  • First off, lobbying should be ILLEGAL. AT THE VERY LEAST there should be a law making it ILLEGAL for any exiting politician to join a lobbying firm, no matter what title is given, they should not be allowed to have any connection to congress ever again in any manner. This would solve MOST corruption is Washington. But unfortunately, other than Bernie Sanders(I) and a very few others, nobody in congress has brought up a bill of this nature. MOST in congress, over 90%, ARE CORRUPT.

  • @TheUSMetalhead

You want to repeal the first amendment??? You think restricting freedom is going to save you? Well, I'm certainly not in favor of that at all. Wealthy people can influence politicians just by inviting them over for dinner. Are you going to then make dinner invitations illegal?

    -

The solution is LESS government - not more.

  • @mweibleii I thought the guy commenting on Palin was retarded, but he has a challenger in you. If you think lobbyist are convinced to LOBBY just because they had a nice dinner you are a fucken moron. They are paid and hired to give checks to Congressmen and Senators. That being said, I don't think the first amendment should be altered. But the solution is in government preventing lobbyist abilities to hand out these checks like their giving out speeding tickets on the Roosevelt freeway.

  • @NY1love

I'll ignore the snide in your reply. Obviously we both agree that the government is broken and that lobbyist are a part of the problem. You think MORE government is going to solve the problem (or seem to think so). Whereas I think we need to remove the incentive for there to even be Lobbyists. IOWs, shrink government.

    -

Why not use more direct democracy? Let the people vote. If you can bank online, you can vote online. A smaller central government with more direct democracy.

  • Republicans aren't the only ones committing fraud. So are Democrats who act like Republicans!

  • Blue dog democrat, just another word for under cover republican shit. lmao

  • Don't forget Rep. Rick Boucher (9-VA)

  • LilacStar82

The President is hardly the worst. I think Nelson has that wrapped up.

Hopefully "Citizens United" will be repealed some day. We need a Constitutional Amendment to get money OUT of government!!

  • Corrupted to the core and yet people kept voting for these clowns (and will continue to do so).

  • In Australia's centre-left party (Labor) we purge conservative dissenters who vote too conservatively. Something worth thinking about for the Dems.

  • Man how many more fucks can we give these guys before people start rioting.

  • I'd rather have an independent, or maybe bring back the Whig party

  • a fucking 12 min add thats insane

  • They wonder why the OWS Demonstrations still exist.

  • THEY WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR MONEY! anything! anythang!

  • ben Nelson and his RepubiTARDS & KKKonservative, friends are big sellout bitches. So is his boyfriend Blow Joe Libermann.they all show burn in Hell for distorying this country along with his GOP blow buddies also.

  • Nice title, it sounds like a hood rat gang is making the biggest heist on their native 'hood.' Notify me when the motion picture is out!

  • already being hired? how long did this take 2, 3 days

  • I HATE THESE PEOPLE!!!!! I HATE THEM!!!!

I used to work in DC and holy HELL they are all in cahoots with each other wallahi!!! They are such evil bastards!!! And yes I know it is cliche, but seriously, how do they sleep at night?!?!?! Do you just get so wrapped up in sin that you become blind and just keep rolling deeper and deeper???? I just don't get it!!!!!

    AMERICA NEEDS A REVOLUTION.

  • So Cenks answer is more, and higher paid, Big government..... your know - to protect The People

  • @mweibleii na na nah, let's get it clear, you're the one who's asking for us NOT TO REGULATE ELECTED FREAKIN OFFICIALS just so your buddy wRon Paul and BILLIONAIRES like him can buy them. AFAIC you stand for big lobbying and as long as you stand with BIG BUSINESS we're NEVER gonna get this CORRUPTION under CONTROL.

  • @NoCommentChick

Well, think about this: Are you afraid of Apple Computes? They're probably the largest business on the planet. I bet you're not. Second thing to think about: Look around the world and ask yourself: Are ANY people being subjugated by big business? None, that I can think of. There are a lot of governments subjugating people. Thirdly, IF big business did want to subjugate you - who does it turn to, to do so? Of course, the government. AND you want MORE of that???

  • @NoCommentChick

The next thing to think about: How many Billionaires went to Prison? How many Banksters have gone to prison. NONE. They've stolen Trillions of dollars and guess who did nothing about it - Obama. Now, how many OWS protesters went to prison? Over 3000+. Yes, I know your frustration (I have it too) and I know you wish someone in Big government would do something. I'm sorry to tell you this but they're NOT interested in you. You are less than nothing to a politician.

  • Crips and Bloods at least they have some codes of honor when both Dems and Rebup have none.

  • @Okkako1 hahahahahhahahaha

  • These are all traitorous sellouts. They'd sell own family members if the price was right.

  • The Title on this Video Sounds Mad Ghetto!

  • Remember... its the BIG business community that buys these politicians out. The banking cartels and huge corporations are not supposed to be the backbone of a capitalist economy.

Private initiative, private property, small businesses, and the entrepreneurial spirit is what built this great nation-- and what SHOULD BE the backbone of an non-corrupt capitalist nation.

  • @bobshenix That does not HAPPEN THOUGH. In the absence of govenrment, the richest will take over anyway, but the difference is that the poorest will not get fed, the roads that the richest do not specifically rely on will not get maintained, fires that do not affect rich people will not get put out, and the richest will be able to do whatever the fuck they want with impugnity. More than today even.

  • You underestimate how corrupt Washington truly is. Government's lawmaking ability/authority invites the lobbyists and in cohorts with big business, banks, finance firms they ride the gravy train with impunity.

Why do you think none of the Wall Street swindlers have been arrested for their deception prior to the 2008 economic crash?? A true free-market system would leave these criminals bankrupt for their reckless actions. Instead their cronies in government protect them!!

  • ( . )( . )

  • I hope there is a bullet somewhere with his name on it.

  • I hope there is a bullet somewhere with his name on it.

  • String them up. I guess crime pay.

  • When will these guys leave our noble politicians alone? It's not fair.

  • @xCroB93x joking a little?

  • The "dog" part of " blue dog" is appropriate... they are someone's bitch alright and it sure as hell isn't the people that elected them holding the lease.

  • US Congress - training ground for economic terrorists.

  • Comment removed

  • Is anyone REALLY surprised with this ill behavior anymore?

  • This would have more impact if it included information about liberal democrats and conservative republicans who retired, I would guess they ALL got cushy corporate jobs. The entire system is corrupt.

  • @john1948eighta Yeah, that'd be interesting to know..at least about the liberal Congress people who retired. As for conservatives? Pretty much a given.

  • Hey, Young Turks, how many blue dog Democrats are left??

  • If all conservatives are supposedly bible-adhering, gay-hating and money-obsessed assholes- What does that make me? I'm a conservative graphic designer. I support gay-rights (I have several gay friends), I'm a Christian who accepts people with all different views as friends, I'm in the middle-class and I'm not in any way related to a corporation. Yet I believe in corporate tax-cuts, a flat-tax and that the Occupy movement is pathetic. Best of all you people accuse folks like me of stereo-typing.

  • @iSchmal The Tea Party is pathetic. Bachmann is a prime example.

  • @Sahluful Sure, I don't fully agree with the Tea Party. But they're not spreading their message by rioting, provoking cops, destroying businesses and linking arms to block public roadways.

  • @iSchmal Except, they don't. Watch any video of OWS by TYT, and you'll see the truth.

Also, the Tea Party may not provoke the police, but they're just as dangerous as the Republicans, if not more so, since they're libertarians.

  • @iSchmal A flat tax would just raise your taxes and cut taxes on the rich. How much lower do you want the corporate tax rate to go? Give me a number? last report shows that 3 out of 4 US corporations pay zero in federal income taxes. ZERO. The effective tax rate of ALL US corporations is currently b/w 12-17%. Just because the book says the high end tax rate is 35% doesn't mean it's actually 35%, At least not in the US.

It's NOT about tax rates, it's about cheap slave wages in other countries.

  • @VITRUVIANMANNOLA What's wrong with a flat tax? If everybody paid say, 15%, the more you make the more you pay. Now, I don't think those in major poverty should pay taxes necessarily but if someone making $100K pays $15K, and someone making $1M is paying $150K, where's the problem? Just because they CAN afford it doesn't mean they should have to pay it. If they want to give their money to charity that's awesome, but the government shouldn't be stealing the upper-class' hardwork.

  • @iSchmal

Because the value of the dollar doesn't scale linearly.

  • @VITRUVIANMANNOLA About the "slave-wage" labor. Most corporations put manufacturing jobs in other countries because not only can $1 go much farther, but it helps develop those countries. The US got where it is through industrialization, where employees also worked for "slave-wages." Now do I personally think that people should work for dirt-cheap? No. But the corporations are offering the jobs in the first place. If people are taking the jobs it's proving they're not too opposed.

  • @iSchmal It is not about the heroic industrialization of under-developed countries, the multi-nationals are setting up neo-Banana Republics to avoid regulation. They're criminals at their core.

  • @iSchmal To people who are dirt poor a dollar is alot of money. Of coarse they won't be opposed .I guess with americans moving into poverty 1 in six now the corps will comeback and offer them a dollar an hour or maybe $ .75 . Yes?

  • @iSchmal Your logic doesn't hold water. Are you really saying that US corporations take our jobs overseas for slave labor b/c they want to help other countries develop out of the kindness of their hearts? Haha. 1st, many of these countries (China) are already developed and have been around much longer than us. 2nd, it is obvious our own country needs those jobs so wouldn't they all be bringing them back right now? Pple are taking those slave jobs in other countries b/c they are FORCED to.

  • @iSchmal You still are evading my point on taxes. It has nothing to do with taxes. Most US corporations are already paying zero taxes and have been for years, yet the outsourcing of US jobs during that same time has gone up tremendously, NOT down. It has to do with getting some person in China to make something for $.50 an hr b/c they have no labor laws & the strong arm govt says either work for pennies or starve. Google and read this article "Big Corporations: We don't pay no stinking taxes."

  • How do they sleep at night?

On very expensive sheets and mattresses, in a very expensive house in a very expensive neighborhood, on very expensive, 2nd or 3rd, wife, on piles and piles of money.

All at the expense of the American people.

  • Cenk stop whinning, ron paul will make it worst.

  • Obama: #1 Corporate Spineless Democrat

  • @LilacStar82 Totally. Because his donations from someone tied to Solyndra had nothing to do with his complete waste of an investment of $535 million of tax-payer money, even when several of his advisers warned that Solyndra would likely have major problems.

  • @LilacStar82 better watch out ,as you may not know he just signed something that took away your constitutional right to free speech ..but i agree fully with you :)

  • @LilacStar82

i think you mean corporate spineless republican--theres nothing left about em'

  • Evan Bayh. Saw that one coming.

  • ( . )( . )

  • I wonder where all those Paulians complaining about one-sided journalism are.

    :D

  • ~• 4GOT 2 MENTiON BLUE-DOG 0bombA •~

...In Aryan-Zona they shoot their blue-dog democrats.

    E.G. Gabrielle Giffords

  • Why was Ben Nelson voted back in so many times if he voted against his constituents' best interests? Because money affects elections and also because most people don't follow politics. We need to get money out of politics!

  • Blue Dog Dems are literally wolves in sheep's clothing.

  • Dems and Repubs? More like Crips and Bloods.

  • @newpolarity If Crips and Bloods went on the view,... its all talk with those people.

  • @newpolarity nah cause at least Crips and bloods have loyalty

  • This is the reason for fire arms, and IT SHOULD be open season on lobbyist and corrupt politicians.

  • The title of this video is incomprehensible to a non-American.

  • What is a "Blue Dog" democrat? Is this a "core" or "far left" democrat or something? What does that label mean?

  • @RottenRroses conservative democrat

  • @RottenRroses They're dogs. That's how low they are.

  • Ben Nelson; the definition of poitical scum. He was nothing but a republican supported, and funded democrat in sheeples clothing. Don't folks understand that sometimes it is more beneficial to the fascist criminals to get a phony elected. When will people learn politicians are nothing but prostitutes "Sorry no offense to hard working street walkers." They will open any oraface and do any depraved act for the right amount of money. FIGHT FOR REPEAL OF CORPORATE PERSONHOOD get the money out.

  • The Dems and the Repubs basically came together to put aside their differences so they could better work together to screw over the American public. Sort of like when the Crips and Bloods called a truce.

  • Why are you people complaining? America is a thriving Cleptocracy.

  • So you're living in an econocracy, run by econocrats, while the media spreads good words about them every 4 years to keep the system up and running?

How is it that so many people watch corruption, but don't do shit about it?

  • @Tuck213 People ask that a lot. It's a classic case of Stockholm Syndrome. They think they will someday be like their masters are.

  • I cant wait until LIEberman is gone.

  • @0n1n3 It will be interesting to see where that swine goes.

  • @RykComerford while I get what you are trying to point out its not just the liberals or the conservatives in favor of SOPA and PIPA. Everyone in Congress is in favor of it because all the corperations will profit and the members of Congress will get a few million in contrebutions. Its a win-win for them

  • @nmayfield61 Well I hope not literally 'everyone' is for it because I don't want it to pass.Whenever the vote on SOPA is held it will be interesting to see who votes for or against.

  • I prefer calling Blue-Dog Dems as Republicans Lite as if they were a beer - a really shitty awful one.

  • If the American people are smart they would get out they're pitch forks and torches and hang this guy from the tallest tree on the hill

  • @MTVVH1sucks

That horse left the barn a looooong time ago.

  • wolf-pac.com, I'm not saying anything I'm just saying.

  • Of Cooooouuuuurrrrrssssseeeeee

  • how do these people go to sleep at night with this guilty conscience on their minds

  • @noldi123 What makes this even more frustrating is how blue dogs like Bayh and Nelson are treated by the mainstream media. They are revered as 'moderate, centrist and pragmatic'. Apparently fighting in favor of special interests in Congress at the expense of the majority of Americans is a "moderate" position these days - of course if you disagree you're dismissed as an unreasonable 'purist', etc.

  • @TheYoungTurks

Wow, a salient answer from TYT that isn't advertising. Win for you.

  • @TheYoungTurks I always wonder who is the one posting these comments...

  • @TheYoungTurks I think the reason is clear: money, connections and amorality.

  • @noldi123

Probably in their big cushy beds full of voluptuous money grubbing women with fake man made boobs.

  • @noldi123

They probably don't feel guilty in the first place

  • @noldi123 A bag full of money makes for a soft pillow.

  • @noldi123 What conscience?

  • and the guy who live in the white house is the same way, change what change, more of the same to me.

  • @noldi123 they dont,.. these kinds of people are high on Koch all night.

  • @noldi123 why do you think they have a conscience ? it is clear to me that they are not human

  • @noldi123 They're human beings. When a person experiences as much power as politicians do, there's an urge to hold onto that power as long as possible and rationalize their decisions as the "right thing to do". There aren't many super villains in the world, mostly just deluded cowards.

  • @noldi123 bc there bed costs over 100,000 grand

  • Comment removed

  • @noldi123

    How? On $5,000 pillows

  • @noldi123 Psychopaths make up 1-3% of the human population, poor and rich. Lack of empathy is a key trait of the psychopath, as well as a strive for power and control.

  • @tehdouglas1 The power isn't necessarily what psychopaths strive for. They just generally enjoy manipulating people. Even if that means that they have to imitate empathy in order to manipulate them. But in order to manipulate properly they fake empathy to the point that you can't really discern whether or not they are real. The psychopaths that don't learn such manipulative tricks aren't the ones to worry about. They're the easy ones that become CEOs. The scary ones are the ones you can't see.

  • @noldi123 They might be psychopaths...?

  • Slumdog Millionaires was much better, they told the truth more...

  • I 100% agree corporate corruption is a bad thing. But Cenk spins this as if all big corporations are run by conservatives. That's ridiculous. The big threat to Internet freedom,SOPA, is coming from liberal Democrat Chris Dodd, who now works for Hollywood, and the movie studios.Hollywood is not run buy conservative Republicans.A lot of wealthy Wall Street and Silicon Valley people are not conservative.Anyone,no matter what their ideology, can put their own financial self-interest first, and be greedy.

  • @RykComerford the over whelming support for sopa is coming from the right.

  • @VolcardoReviewer The entertainment companies, movie,tv,music, are behind SOPA,are not even remotely right.Conservative congressman Darrel Issa has drafted an alternative to SOPA

  • @RykComerford The politicians?

  • Stop destroying conservatism, just like you don't want to destroy socialism or Progressivism. The Democract party was conservative once, when we actually cared about our country not spending us into collapse. Then the the neo-cons took over and spread to the Republican party, now we have nothing but corporatist neo-cons in both party's. They don't stand by any principles, they listen to whatever the corporations want.

Neither party is conservative, neither is progressive. Both are corporatist.

  • An easy way to get a Federal job is to work for Goldman Sachs.

  • @MrHorsetail An easy way to get a job at Goldman Sachs is to say nice thing about them after becoming a public servant. Fucking revolving door keeps spinning.
