Dear Whitney, my daughter is in love with a "magic wrap around skirt" but they are very expensive, she is a size 10-12 and she wants the long skirt, can you tell me how can I make it for her? Can you show me how to make a pattern for that skirt? Or someone that knows how to make the skirt. Please send me an e-mail at JRios407@yahoo.com Thanks !!!!!
thank you for the video. as always you do a good job, but this time I thought the intro was soooooo long. sorry. but I am a true fan of yours. keep them coming.
I love your creativity. I have been sewing for years, but find myself learning so much. I went to a local GoodWill store and found a brand new Strawberry Shortcake valance for $.50. It, paired with some contrasting fabric I already had, made a super cute sun dress for my granddaughter. Keep posting. Thanks!
@32gaspard HI, thanks for commenting! I'm not selling the skirt from this video, but I do have two other skirts (still reversible wraps, just different prints) I've made that will be listed in my store within the next month :)
@heavenlyangelsrhere Reversible items don't have to be hemmed because all the raw edges are hidden between the two layers when they are sewn together.
@MrsFenFen Hehe, thanks :) I love using that machine! The old all metal machines work better for me then my newer mostly plastic one. I have several other sewing machines, the oldest is 90+ years old and still works!
Im not much a dress/skirt person, but once I saw it on you I just have to make one now! Please do more reversible items....I love how they add to the wardrobe ,but take up less space and money!
the camera chnages the color when you get into the frame because it is in Auto White Balance, therefor she thinks the blue is a cold color and compensate by warming up the tones... ;D
This may seem like a strange question but I'm confused by how the skirt is tied. Most wrap skirts I have seen button not tie so I'm not sure how the tie would work.
I think it might be better if you do less explaination in the beginning and give the info as you are doing the project - I found it too longwinded to watch your episode this week and gave up before I got to the project. Btw I quite liked your memo board in the background, very cute
Thanks for the suggestion. I did the explaining at the begining like that because I wanted it to be more clear if someone is having to adapt the pattern.
I made the memo board about the time I started college it works awesome in our sewing room now :)
Seem allowance: another good way to mark on your sewing machine is a magnet, this allows you to slide it if you need to change it, and it's thicker, so it helps to guide the fabric where it should be, hope this helps : )
Just what I needed. Thank you.

I'm sorry but I can not find where you hemmed it on the bottom?

@aglanceatmyworld gotcha! thanks!

Aren't you worried about that a gust of wind can open the skirt behind you, and you can´t do anything before it's too late?

@fredrikzohn I always wear short shorts underneath just in case.

@mixmaxdix Yes my camera does try to auto white balance...but I'm using a flip camera so there is no way to prevent that. :)

Pretty! That's the first time I have seen a wrap skirt that wraps on the back though. All I have had and seen, has wrapped around to the front...
LottaTroublemaker 2 years ago
@LottaTroublemaker
I would also wear it that way... I mean isn't it more comfortable when the potential opening is on the front?
But this is great video. I already have one wrap skirt and now Whitney made me want to have one more. :)
