Why is this the only song in the world that makes me cry? It is so beautiful.. but there are reasons. My uncle loved eagles and died of cancer on his son's seventeenth birthday around four or five years ago. At the funeral, my chorus teacher sang this song. Then at the graveside service we saw a bald eagle flying above us. Every time I really miss him I seem to see an eagle,my great uncle passed away and my cousin sang this song at his funeral. Today is the anniversary of when Uncle Mark met God
I miss you, Dad. I know you heard Murt, Mary Ellen, Hally and Avis sing this at your funeral, and 14 and a half years later, I miss you as much or more than I ever have. Keep watching me please, because I may need help getting where you and those who died in the State of Grace live for all Eternity. Semper Fi. I love you.
@chloemonaghan3110 Sure if your into all the technology, but these people are together to send HIS word for those, like me, who have lost loved ones in the simplest of terms. For me it's the message, not the backround of technology, that this group strives to bring to fellow humans in times of need.
for those of u who dnt kno this song was mostly meant for funerals nd since an eagle is the animal tht can fly the highest in the sky it will take u on it's wwings nd take u to god:)
this was pretty much th anthem for my school. all students loved it, and it brings a tear to my eyes whenever i hear it as I am flooded with memories of my school years
I just love listening to this when I feel alone or like giving up. I have found that God is the only constant in my life. People change, they pass on, but God is ALWAYS there and if we trust HIM He will be able to help us. He can't help us if we don't TRUST.
@Baberuth321 although i see why you'd like it to be on angels wings, once you know the symbolism of the eagle, it is... wow. Look up the life cycle of eagles, dig into the symbolism, and the meaning is... beyond wow.
@Baberuth321 It might sound better, but the song is loosely quoting scripture. I'm not sure which verses, but read Isaiah 40:31, Revelation 12:14, Jeremiah Chapters 48 and 49, Lamentations Chapter 4. The Lord many times compares Himself to an eagle. Both as loving Savior and as punishing Avenger. Many verses that have the word eagle in it are prophetic. In the Bible, only the Lord raises people up on eagles wings.
my dad dies a year a go but it seems like yesterday and they played this song i loved him so much and he didnt want me to see him die so i slept over my cousins house and then i went to go see him and i was like i hope he didnt die yet and when i got there he passed away and i was very sad july 2 2009 6 days before my birthday he knew he would always be with me on my birthdays he had stomach cancer and it was to late to ge tit out so he was in a hospital for a year and the rest is to long to put

Good song for funerals but what happened to the living?
God watches over us too.
Let us also focus on this Psalm to encourage us in times of need and to trust his protection even as we are alive. May the Lord be with you all

How could anyone dislike this song? If you don't like the song, why even watch the video?

@Baberuth321 It's from Scripture Isaiah 40:31
They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength,
they will be raised up on eagles’ wings;
They will run and not grow weary,
walk and not grow faint.
