@marsgreekgod What are you wondering? That video was from my old mobile device, so it was.... bad quality one :P. I should do a new one, but the stars must align with me to reach the end with both alive again :P.
@Nukibaggu Well it's not that even. In fact, it's about the wandering egg bad guy... the one the the 3rd on 4th level drops random items? I have found that if killed in a town they drop items as if they where in the store (so the town that sells jars means they only drop jars) but I wondered , what happened if you had one of the fake monsters in your pack when you go tto the golden city, threw egg meat at him and killed him what would he drop? I tried and failed to set this up..
thanks for the reply, i did pick it up yesterday because a local gamestore had it used for 5$
spent all day playing it yesterday and i love it, are there any other games for any system that are like this? it seems like the roguelikes are rare on systems.
For Nintendo DS, you have Izuna 1 and Izuna 2 (both in english), they are interesting roguelikes but I personally don't like them.
Also you can find Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (4 games: blue rescue team, Explorers of Darkness, Explorers of Time, and Explorers of the Sky). Those games are roguelikes, but they are focused to early-age gamers, so they may be easy for you.
Wii has recently Shiren the Wanderer, with 3D graphics, and a cool japanese environment. That's all for english games.
The Mystery Dungeon saga has lots of games in Japan, so if you want to try them, here is a list of my personal favourites:
- Shiren DS 2. It has enhanced gameplay, and more monsters. You can find an english guide in the Shiren wiki on wetpaint. For Nintendo DS, only in japanese (but there is an english patch by Xvirus).
- Torneko (The Last Hope). An old PSX roguelike. You can try it in your PS2 or PSP, and it's in english.
You're a liar. I had a bronzerward +20 or 15 or so and like a plus 3 master sword, and lost, i doubt you would be able to get that far without the events which happen that require you to die a certain amount of times. Unless you're the most luckiest person in the world.
Once you clear the final puzzle, I cleared my save to start again from scratch. I must say that Table Mountain is a LOT easier, and I finished it in my first run without backtracking. I had a Katana +2 and an Iron Shield +3 at the end. If you save the staves and scrolls for the last floors (and you are lucky to not find any monster houses in them), it's possible to finish in your first run.
I feel dead, I used all my best equipment to get to here and I was like YES IVE BEAT THE GAME WHOO, then you have to fight the tainted insect, and I got pwned, well back to square 1
Wow, good job keeping Oryu and Kechi to the end of the main quest! It's one thing to stay alive until floor 30, but keeping party members from getting themselves killed there is a real accomplishment.
It's not so difficult, actually... I had to grind a lot (Mastersword+60 and Armorward+40) and then collect lots of scrolls of confusion and scrolls of sleep to use in eventual Monster Houses... Of course, I was lucky to not find any in the last 5 floors!
In the Final Battle, I used a scroll of confusion in the 1st turn, then used a Paralysis staff with Oryu and Kechi and after that, I threw a Mamel meat to the last boss.
How did you grind that much and how long did it take you? when I fighted this boss I had a bronzeward +18-20 (cant remember) and a mastersword + 3 lol, also you can throw mamel meat at the insect? If I would have know I wouldn't have wasted it earlier on -,- I lost all my equipment and I want to beat this game
I had like 2 staffs of postpone and 1 staff of paralisis (spelled it wrong). I just kept shooting it with arrows, freezing it, and healing over and over again.
Only one hour of grinding. You must upgrade your weapons a lot, because you need to "protect" you partu members. Collect a lot of Switching and Paralysis staves (to use with your party members, because they tend go to kill monsters that are stronger than them). Also Confusion scrolls are handy for eventual monster houses (scrolls of sleep are not recommended). In the last floor, using a confusion scroll make the monsters to be unable to use any specials, and you can take advantage from this.
So your "brother" didn't make it?
Still nice job. thanks. I wondered what happened if they lived. Thats epic.
(any chance I get get you on a quest? there is something I am wondering...)

if i love nethack, is this game for me?
Logicfray 2 years ago
This game, as nethack, is a roguelike, with its difficulties and penalties, but its rules are more fair than nethack.
It's still a difficult game, so if you love nethack you will like this too. Go ahead and try it.

Well, Most of the time my party members did because of Spike Bombs, which annoy me a lot! It actually seems easier without them sometimes.
