but even still this point in Megadeth time. they weren't doing great, The Worlds Needs a Hero was just an OKAY album at best, still better than risk, but not a great album. with Marty leaving because he wanted to go wear pink Japanese leather jackets. and David Leaving cause he wanted more money. Dave was two steps from killing somebody... or worse himself.... \m/\m/
lol I have the DVD and the uploader definitely messed around with the song. Its not really that fast, the uploader definitely edited this. Thats why the sound quality sucks.
Except for Mustaines tone, its definitely that bad...
@rampage222555 Nope. Ive listened to the cd-version of this concert soooo many times, aswell as the dvd, and that's exactly how they played it. No messing around, no editing.
This drummer doesnt fit to megadeth. if you compare nick menza and this Jim ? Nick is more dynamic. thats how i think. you think he's good and i think not so good but pretty good. so what ? every body has their own opinions. Long live Megadeth!!!
@johnmalagueta It's Jackson. He played B.C. Rich for like the first 2 albums and while he was in Metallica (B.C. Rich Bich). He used a Jackson V all the way up too United Abominations. The he used a signature ESP Dave Mustaine. Now he used Dean signature V's
@TJMAMAN he used the king v's till his arm accident around 2003 then when he started the band back up with the system has failed he used his esp signature then from united abominations up he used dean signatures
Al's solo in Dread and the Fugitive Mind is really cool. After I listened to that, I had more appreciation for Al, and Al doing the older solos his way. I like his style.
al pitrelli is a better live player than marty is, most of those notes were flawless, throughout this whole concert, show me one live show where marty actually plays what he is supposed too. i'm not bashing marty he is great
? Al Pitrelli isn't the best guitarrist Megadeth had had, I know... He's an awesome and full-talented guitarrist, but it's not the same, you can compare even Return To Hangar solos (of Al) with Glen Drover in That One Night DVD playing this song... but let's be honest, he hit a lot of notes in Rude Awakening, even in A Tout Le Monde solo (fucking easy)
I think Al is better for his own works, anyway my preferences are with Marty Friedman, Glen Drover and Chris Broderick
@MadeWithMetal You need to grow out of the belief that every guitarist needs to play the same exact notes for a solo. Al helped bring megadeth back to it's roots and plays solo's his own way. Most people haven't gotten off marty's cock and to them Al's way of playing is a big FUCK YOU to them. IMO
yeah, and that's my point,,, I just say that Al is better by his own works, you know, Megadeth has only one Best guitarist, he's Dave. Anyway I like Al a lot and his techniques, but just think that he's not doing the best of him, he can do it better, I know... and thanks for correct me! I didn't say it by the way I wanted
there has never been a guitarplayer in megadeth that sucks, dave would never allow..
and shitting about who's best and who's not. there all different styles of playing.. poland jazz, jeff joung punk, marty melodic, poland drunk, broderick newmetal etc.
u can't say who's the best if they are all different...
Have you heard this solo? The guy is awefull and Dave made a bad call. Though Broderick is probably the best guitar player in Megadeth since Marty. Plus, Broderick was even strongly influenced by Marty. If you hear the stuff from the new record endgame you will realize how similar broderick and friedman are. The only difference is that broderick is faster, less feel, (not by alot) and a little chris poland in him.
Al Pitrelli is superior to Marty Friedman. He didn't have much chemistry going on with Dave but hear his work and Savatage and you'll realize his true potential. His dread and fugitive mind solo blows most of Marty's away. Marty happened to join Megadeth at the right time, but Dave had written most of rust in peace when he joined. Everything after RIP was a slow downfall until marty left.
hell no. you cannot honestly compare dread and the fugitive mind to marty's solos like tornado of souls, victory, lucretia, hangar 18, etc. marty used the entire fret for his apreggios and his solos are relentless (lucretia solo is a good example of how he uses the whole fret board, same with tornado of souls) while in dread and the fugitive mind, the only fast part is on one part of the neck, and doesn't move
Because he can't even play his own solos right. They sound horrible. He just isn't good. Stick with Marty, Glen, and both Chris's. (Fuck Jeff Young too.)
I am talking about his original material on the world needs a hero .He isn't changing anyone elses music but his own, and he does a terrible job a recreating his own solos. He is a studio guitarist and that's all there is to it.
I disagree, considering he pretty much nailed dread and the fugitive mind solo live on rude awakening. Also, it's pretty silly to judge him as a guitarist based on one album, rather than looking at his work as whole along with TSO and Savatage.
@LordVicRattlehead Fuck yeah motherfucker. Al is a phenomenal guitar player. I know I'll get shot in the face for saying this, but he plays these leads better than Marty did sometimes.
