@AstroSpartian Constitution Class starships CAN'T seperate. The Enterprise D was a Galaxy Class starship. tht vid had scenes from th movie Star Trek Generations. a few other episodes inc th 1st episode of th 1st season and th best of both worlds also featured starship seperation.

@SouthLAndCop333 Wrong. It's long been understood that the saucer could separate from the TOS Enterprise... It just couldn't re-attach without a Starbase. Kirk even said something in one episode about 'getting out of here with just the saucer section, if need be'.

@musyman69 I did say many but I guess many isn't the right word. A number of them can. I believe the multiple mission type ships or specialized ships have the separation as standard requirement.. So far, I know the Constitution, Excelsior, Ambassador, Galaxy, Nebula, Sovereign, and Prometheus class. :)
