  • blown head gasket? honda? not even 100,000 miles? surprising.

  • Thermostat *

  • Check your tremostat or water pump

  • I'm going through the same thing on a 93 Honda prelude

  • your radiator is probably not sucking the coolant correctly so check the hoses or the cap. that's what happened to mine.

  • Don't let the engine be overheated like that ! It's not good for the engine -___-

  • try putting water on the water deposit

  • its your water/coolant pump, its going out and not giving the needed amount of coolant to the engine

  • you know....youre supposed to put coolant in the car....just sayin you might wanna check it....after all it is a honda

  • im going thru the same shit rite now!!!03 civic 1.7 vtech im fukn stress!!!

  • needs a new and powerful radiator fan thats it

    or a head

  • how much would it of cost??

  • needs a new raidator

  • @ihat3h1tmark3rs Yup, new radiator or thermastat? You can also check the hose to make sure there's no vibrating which could mean the coolant is boiling - which in turn means your radiator is losing pressure. I just had to have my radiator replaced in my Saturn after 10 years because it was leaking and causing it to lose pressure very quickly.

  • yea bro that sucks same shit happening to me right now dont let it over heat all the time cus yor hoses can only take so much heat they could melt or you can blow your headgasket and that would be shitty

  • H for

    HOLY SHIT.

  • Honda? Well there's your problem. haha. Just picking, man.

  • what was the problem ???? my honda is doing the same shit...i did thermostat noq radiator....

  • what kind of car?

  • you ever fix the overheating?

  • I had mine heating without coolant and I never saw it happening. during traffic, the engine started making a very different noise(s) than usual. by the time I realised it was too late and that was the last time i had to shut off the engine.

  • Pressure test it, itll leak out of radiator if its full of holes, and will drop pressure on the gauge over time. Also, check radiator cap to see if its worn and rusty, if it is, replace it. Check the water pump, and check if the cooling fans are running by connecting a mini jumper from the positive side of the battery, to red cable running to fans motor. If the fans are working fine, its could be te thermostat, simply follow the bottom radiator hose to its bolt housing and replace it.

  • If not, the radiator could be bad, and\or the head gasket is blowing\blown. You have to tear the engine down to fix a head gasket.

  • its your gasket bro its cracked

  • i had this problem and it was two things actually...first the radiator was blocked..only a few channels were clear and also the fans would not come on automatically..and since the car was not moving(no airflow) it would over heat. best of luck

  • air in coolant

  • Could be Head gasket problem or fans not coming on..

  • its because r.kelly was playing... thats my expert opinion

  • i remember when i had a 91 CB7 coupe and it had a blown head gasket lol when it would overheat on the road i would put it in nutural and turn the key to acc and "drive" like that till i had a stop, started the car got up to speed and repeat the process lol

  • Is the cooling fan running at this point? Mine failed on my '96 Accord.

  • you need to double flush the radiator and make sure you purge it all

  • you need to double flush the radiator

  • fuk it blow the motor and make them put a new one in. They fuk us on intrest rates and high payments we should fuk them on warranties!

  • Make sure the fans are working. When the car moves it gets air across the radiator cooling the hot coolent. When it stops the fans should kick on to cool the coolent.

  • hey. i need some advice. i have a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse gs. i just had my thermostat changed. my temperature guage reads that its slightly overheating but the car is not really over heating because im driving and the guage moves up a lil and then when i keep going it goes back to normal and then it goes back up a lil bit. could it be a problem with the guage?

  • @ryu1036 my honda civic vtec 1996 model had the same condition, what happened to you car now?

  • get a new gasket.

  • Does your fan motor for your rad even work?>

  • my car does the exact same thing and its pissing me off. what year is your car mine is a 2003 civic ex with the 1.7liter

  • @wlj92

    It was an 04 1.7ivtec

  • @bhoffman87 And YES I SAID I BET 100 BUCKS... I had this happen to a 06 GTO I had.

  • @wlj92 honda and acura have a little tricky thing, with they air valve easy fix

after mechanic install tb, wp ,thermostat, and 50/50 coolant stll doing same shityy thing i fix myself little air bubles

  • @wlj92 most deff head gasket if its doing what this is doing

  • Looks like the coolant Fan does not work

  • Is it jus tthe fan?

  • Did you check ur rad fan or coolant sending unit....?

  • i got that issue also. i did water pump and caps. but i was going to do water pump but the water pump doesnt pull coolant to the radiator. and in ur case ur radiator is completely empty i bet. same with mine. give ur car about another 20k miles and u will see oil in ur coolant like mine did. to save u the time go replace the head gasket.

  • @USsniperElite you do realize the waterpump is what circulates the water

  • is it really overheating? My car does the same thing, but its because the gauge is bad. When I turn my headlights on, the dash lights make the circuit board on the back of the cluster ground out through the temp gauge. I tested it, and made sure my cooling fan comes on at the right time.

  • might check if the fan is working.

  • my brothers tahoe did that all we did was replace the thermastate

  • mine did the same thing how-ever it was not an overheat problem was just a bad thermometer

  • Old video, but I would have taken a stab at it being your cooling fan not turning on for one reason or another. Fuse, relay, wiring, or the fan motor itself. It's one of the most common causes of overheating when you are not moving. Did you ever find out what was causing it?

  • Did they actually check if the engine parts got enough oil? By this I mean the amount of oil running INTO the engine, not the amount of oil you still have. An engine will tend to heat up/overheat when metal rubs metal without enough oil (this will be indicated as overheating too). Maybe worth to check?

  • looks like the inside of a honda crv

  • could need a new radiator? my car did it but it was a combinaion of that and a head gasket lol

  • Honda engines are damn dependable. If treated right. But I guess any engine is.

  • yay lol my air conditioning was fixed in my 93 escort and i never used it until this summer i had to charge it the compresser wasnt locked up luckily

  • take it to honda now! it hurts it wen u let it get that hot

  • @xxnissansilviaxx I had taken it to the dealership 3 times prior to making this video. It did it while i was standing there with a mechanic...technician whatever. They changed, water pump, thermostat, and other sensors. It continued to do it, and they refused to do anything about it. So I made this video as proof that 1. It was still happening. 2. It was still under warranty.

  • @bhoffman87 dude...keep buging them call a honad help line or sumthin ur shit shud not being doing that

  • @bhoffman87 it is called, ELECTRIC FAN RELAYS....... I bet you 100 bucks your elec. fan/s aren't activating at the trigger temp :b

  • my car does this it could be a bad thermometer

  • @NorthStarOlds I had taken it to the dealership 3 times prior to making this video. It did it while i was standing there with a mechanic...technician whatever. They changed, water pump, thermostat, and other sensors. It continued to do it, and they refused to do anything about it. So I made this video as proof that 1. It was still happening. 2. It was still under warranty.

  • this video was posted on 2008. the car is probably been fixed. lol

  • it actually took until august 2009 before i finally got the damn thing fixed. stupid dealership

  • do maintainance!!

  • all standard maintenance was performed as scheduled in the owners manual

  • OMFG EN YOU KEEP YOUR CAR RUNNING WHEN IT REACH RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sjees you stupid fuck they should ban you for ever sit in a car again

  • @Smokeyb33r

First off man. I had taken it to the dealership 3 times prior to making this video. It did it while i was standing there with a mechanic...technician whatever. They changed, water pump, thermostat, and other sensors. It continued to do it, and they refused to do anything about it. So I made this video as proof that 1. It was still happening. 2. It was still under warranty.

  • good one... did you ever fix it?

  • I took it to the dealer over a dozen times. But they were unable to find the actual problem, while it was under warranty. After the warranty expired i took it back when i realized my secondary fan never ran, even when my AC compressor was running. Parts replace from my wallet ... 1.water pump 2. fan motor 3.head gaskets/machined head 4. timing belt/tuneup. Stopped overheating at this point. 1 month after having my heads done my belt jumped timing.... I have a brand new civic si now.

  • its probably over heating cuz u got r.kelly on the radio. put coolant and/or fix ur water pump.

  • Probably the fan is not kicking in, hence the reason it cools while driving that's a possibility and i hope that's it otherwise you're screwed then it's time to do the more expensive approach.

  • maybe the electric cooling fan is not working... yea thats pretty damaging

  • heres an idea turn it off before you make things worse

  • Who said its a Honda, you twatfuck? Honda and Toyotas will outlast any other car make. Its a fact.

  • @Shadowschool:

Is that so? How long does a normal honda make? 100000, 200000, 300000? I mean with the first engine and gearbox??

And that in an acceptable condition - meaning that you don't die when you drive it?

  • @Shadowschool Untill their accerator takes you off a cliff. That's a fact.

  • @Shadowschool It isn't a fact actually .. if you drive a Honda or a Toyota like a fucktard it will still screw up. It's a fact lol .. idiot.

  • @Shadowschool i would like to dissagree with u. i think a car individually like my truck. 21 years running strong. but the chevy like mine down the road. broke down sittin on blocks. i dont like to go by brand i go by weather its a good car or not.

  • @Shadowschool wow u posted that over a year ago lol little late

  • @Shadowschool Yea with all new suspension and a bunch of other stupid shit . American cars = well built cars with spotty engines. Japanese cars = Well built (although weak) engines and shitty car. I have seen 20 year old american cars with all ball joint and axle rubbers in tact. Cant say that for the forigen cars.....

  • @frosty9595 I'd rather replace some bushings and suspension issues than an engine/transmission, but that's just me :P

  • @Shadowschool Welp not in this case, and he said it was a Honda. So you're wrong on two fronts which surely shows you're a bias idiot who knows very little, like most people on youtube.

  • @Shadowschool do they have cars that have gotten over a million miles?

  • dickhead, Hondas are actually just as good as toyota, if not better. which is good as hell. They can beat gm any day.

also looks like a vw or somthin

  • how does that look like a VW? kooks nothing like a gulf..

  • Comment removed

  • @JcmMagNoo a guy I knew used to have a honda civic at that I drove many times. It is about a 2001 honda. Trust me, do some research.

  • 2004 civic ex ivtec

  • quickest thing to check for is a blockage in front of the radiator. if it's not flowing air through it it's gonna heat up real fast. so look for a bag or something that would stop air flow.

  • If you blip the gas really quick in neutral at a stop light (to about 4500-5000 rpm) then let it go back to idle, your engine will cool itself off by getting coolant circulating quicker through the engine.

  • that worked for a while...but the local honda dealership in Hattiesburg, Ms refused to fix it.... When i traded in my 04' civic ex with 131000 miles on it... they gave me over 6 grand for it, and no, they didnt hike the price on my new car.

  • let me know what the problem was

  • is that a fucking civic ex 03 i have the sameone with the same problem i hate that dam car

  • after checking fan, radiator, thermostat, hose, and fuses..... break down and have you head gasket checked. i had a non honda man look at it and diagnosed it in 2 hours. and fixed it with a full tune up including timing belt for under $1000 cash. My head just had to be remachined, and problem solved.

  • wheres the check engine light? , it could be so many things. Head gasket, cracked radiator, radiator fan, water pump, busted hose, thermistad..... if ur lucky its a busted hose, if ur not then its a blown head gasket... good luck

  • i was very disappointed with my local dealership.... but it was indeed a blown headgasket..... BUT in words to honda. I drove it that way for 30,000 miles. lol. and the head wasnt cracked.

  • turn the car off!.. dont just let it overheat!

  • ah ha! overheat... thermostat sucks!

  • water pumps go bad on honda civics around 100k miles, its recommended by the dealer to replace it when you replace the timing belt

  • check your radiator for leaks

  • you might have a stuck thermostat. Go take your car in for a radiator flush and get a new hot weather thermostat installed. I bet you have no more problems. Unless something is wrong with the car Honda isn't prone to overheating.

  • maybe your cooling fan isnt working

  • 04' civic ex i-vtec
