  • There are two kinds of planes. Those that have crashed and those that will.

  • u should mention that a low temp hot glur gun is recomended

  • BUILD TIP: I use 30 minute epoxy chilled in the refrigerator. The cold epoxy slows cure time to 45 to 60 minutes allowing you to mix larger quantities for covering large areas. I use a glue brush & spread the cold mixed epoxy all over the joint. I even use it to reinforce motor mount areas & servo horn mounting locations. I also brushed it on the bottom of my 57inch P-51 Mustang. Makes it look like its coated in glass but super strong for when I have to do gear up belly landings on rough ground.

  • same poxy as what i use

    great stuff

  • What about that ARDrone in the back?

Any review or even modded to be RC with RCG miru mod?

Great Videos guys keep them coming.

    BR

    Aris GREECE :)

  • You put "blood, Sweat and Tears" into "Building" a prebuilt plane? lol!

I bought my first Flight test shirt the other day.

    "You Cannot Fly that plane"

With 2 hansome men looking off into the distance.

  • My experience:

Remember to balance the plane after you add glue!

  • Looking forward to the mosquito, I have the honour of living like 10 miles from the dehavilland museum, you can see the balsa and plywood construction, pretty awesome!

  • Mosquito next? oh yes oh yes oh yes! :D

I WILL have a Mosquito at some point, I just have to. One of my favourite planes.

  • Good episode guys.

One good piece of advice thou. When reparing with a lot of glue don´t forget to recheck the CG as it can change if you add a lot of glue in the back or in the nose :)

    Keep the episodes comming. :)

  • Not sure who does the music, but I enjoy it very much. Many cudos to Michael Cameneti or Joab Roseberry. One is listed as Audio and the other as composer. Thanks guys for another great show.

  • @civicex5speed Thank you! I enjoy making it! :) -Michael

… and Joab definitely does a great job with field recording on our shoots.

  • is that a parrot quad in the background?

if yes, who is gonna review it? and when?

  • @rcguru13 Yes it is! it is in the process of being released!

  • White Gorilla Glue is a LOT stronger than hot glue, much lighter too, and fills out the cracks/ small missing foam bits. However, it takes some time to cure. I would only use hot glue in emergency-instant-fix situations where the added weight doesn't play a role.

  • This a great episode for noob foam smashers like myself. I have absolutely destroyed the front end of my kinetic 800 and rebuilt it several times. Still flying

  • And this is why I bought a 9X with FrSky instead of an overly expensive Spektrum.

  • Thanks, More repair/handy tip videos. I find them very useful and enjoyable in addition to the new plane kit reviews

  • :42 mark 5d... Nice

  • @bakonlicious Good eye

  • @bakonlicious what?

  • boring

  • ardrone in the back there?

  • @numex106 Yes it is!

  • although 2 planes I did use the hammer method in frustration (many peices to throw away). Don't let the dark side guide your thoughts!

  • love to see a smashed foamie reborn, I have managed this on a few, hott glue alone (st mx2), epoxy and uhu por, thin or thick ca (with activator) at times Ive used all of em. When you fly it again & it works the joy helps you over the pain & gloom of the crash! Its amazing what u can repair on a foamy with time & glues. Boiling water and force can help straighten some seriously bent & compacted foam (like what happens to a jetiger nosing in @about 70 mph)!

  • Did you work out what went wrong ??? was it the spectrum glitch im hearing so much about ?

  • I'm glad you guys show people that you can repair crashed planes. The new arf rc pilots have a crash and thats it the garbage can and off to the hobby store for a new arf. I started this hobby before arfs and it drives me nuts to see planes with minor damage trashed. So good work and more repair videos.

  • good job on fixing it :)

  • Thanks fellas. Now I understand which glues are good to use and when.... Great fix!

  • that flight looked great up till the slow speed stall :)

  • NICE! ...glad to see a redemption flight, too! :-D

  • "you couldn't have said it better yourself" .... Uh I just did

  • glad it's just a throw away foamy. if was a high end plane, that'd make me cry.

  • You guys do a great job on the content, quality and you even have a great sense of humor..Robert Veach

  • I have a 25C 1300mAh lipo and a 1100 kv 12amp brushless motor and i would be very grateful if you could enform me of what amp esc i would require please reply.Thank you.

    1234adamdoyle

  • @1234adamdoyle hey ,a 30amp should do fine or a 40 to be realy safe

  • @marka1236 thanks a million

  • @1234adamdoyle if the motor max is 12 amp, an 18 amp esc should suffice, but I personally would use a 25 or 30 amp esc.

  • I was hoping for an autopsy, what was the likely cause of the crash? The crash didn't seem to be Josh's fault. Valuable lessons can be learnt for the next build.

  • cant trust specktrum

  • Mosquito is next!

  • Any idea on what failed last flight to make this bird crash?? Brounout. reciver failure?? or just a bumped switch. Almost looks as though a loss of conection. Thanks for your vids. Much appreciated.

  • MOAR POWER!!!!!

  • Great video....and I would think some foam would melt on some planes before the glue. Seems like after the hot glue has been used once, it's harder to melt.

  • @legoliker7517 I always use low temp

  • @rcplanes1234 The glue I get is for both Low and High temp. When I try to melt the glue again to take it off of stuff etc, it takes a little bit.

  • Hah, it rhymes....

  • Heads up guys:

    watch?v=kDmUm00p24o

Looking forward to seeing your review :D

  • sweet the mosquiteo is my favorite plane they lamanated wood onto molds then they put formers in to keep the shape

  • Epoxy doesn't dry, it cures.

    Just sayin'.

    ;-)

  • Camera man: Do you use autofocus or manual focus? great video

  • @2Aug2 Manual Focus. Thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • Can't wait for that Mossie review. The world's first stealth fighter.

  • Don't forget about foaming urethane glues like Gorilla Glue. Works great on all foams, it expands to fill crevices and gaps, and remains very light.

  • Guys, welders glue, (Lowes) or UHU glue is best for EPP. Light and does not make the EPP brittle.

  • Great Repair Job there guys , well done and just goes to show that every crash is a learning curve and can be fixable most times

  • Nice repairs, guys - and most informative as always!

  • Can you tell me if he used high temp hot glue or low temp? Is there any risk of melting the foam with high temp?

  • @canontaters Not too much, unless you put a lot, or the "barrel" of the glue gun touches the foam for more than about 1 or 1/2 sec.

  • This is a fantastic episode for my son who is worried about the possibility of breaking a model

  • Nice job guys, very neat repair! Thumbs up!

  • Great video guys. Good job on the repair. I'll be happy to give the mossie a good home once you have finished testing it. Hate to see it collect dust like the other planes hanging in your set. :)

    Keep up the good work.

  • impressed guys, well done.

  • You should have taken that Spektrum junk out while you fixed it.

  • Good work guys.... Was looking to get one of these after your first review but the price is horrendous for a 3d foamy !!!

Do you know if HK are gonna start to stock them?

  • Carebear

  • Aw man, I remember when I crashed my Cessna the first time. I felt like screaming when I saw it crash and I was 100% sure it was done for. Luckily my friend took a look at it and brushed it off by saying "nothing a little epoxy can't fix." 30 minutes later that sucker was one propeller away from flying again. This is a really helpful episode, it's always great to see a wrecked airplane get fixed and see it fly once again.

  • couple episodes? this is the episode right after!

  • First ! :D

  • @Dareeude wrong

  • @flyingchimp99 Yeah, thought i were.
