Akitas were developed for bear hunting it was not until western sailors arived in Japan that they were used for fighting and the fighting dogs were mixet with Malamute's and Pit Bulls.
An absolutely amazing dog for the single person. This dog is very protective of it's owner, and wants to be around you at all times. Must be trained with a gentle hand.
