we don't say australia like 'ostralia' ..... it's more like 'ustralia' or even just 'stralia' or 'strayer', like really lazy, and we don't always speak 'australian', we sometimes just speak 'strine', lol......aussies will know what i mean, nobody else will, hahaha
Decent attempt at an Aussie accent, good on ya. Just a few pointers:
1: When we say "Melbourne" it sounds more like "MELB'n" than "melburn". Weird, hey?
2: When you say "can't", you actually want it to sound more like "want" with a "c", I reckon. It'd sound funny if you said it like you said it in the video.
3: You're overenunciating a little bit with your words. Us Aussies are lazy, we're not going to stress our words so much.
Apart from that, it was a great video, I really enjoyed it!
@fLRedSpade yep, didn't have to check your profile to know that you're American, typically ignorant, how many times have people said the majority of Australians don't talk like Steve Irwin, dickhead
maybe a little, like i bit too much emphasis on some words. but not quite enough on others. just listen to some more Australian people and you'll get it.
This is pretty good! There's just a few words that jump out. We pronounce "introduced", intra-juiced, and every now and then you stress your consonants too much, like "started" - we'd say stah-ted (no "r"). The biggest give away though is the way you say Melbourne. We say Mel-ben, "Brisbane" is Bris-ben, Canberra is Can-bra, etc. Not bad though!
Don't know how detailed I should get. The thing that stands out the most is the thickness in your voice. That's really good and it's close but I think you need to back away a little bit because it sounds a little forced. I know I said thicken your voice but that might be a bit too far. But you have the idea. The word started stands out as well. Ignore the 'r' in Started. Just stay Shahted. Can't is supposed to sound like Cahnt. But you are about 80% of the way there so be proud of that effort.

Australia has been influenced by American media for decades but not vise versa.
Americans find the Australian accent more interesting as it is still fresh and has its odd quirks to them where we are slowly losing it.

you say melbourne like 'melbern'
everyone in australia pronounces it 'melban/melbin/melben' depending on the person. australians dont pronounce R's at the end of words :)
