I was lucky having been able to listen to Radio Danubius both on its very first day in 1986 and on its very last day on November 18, 2009 - until 12am. 1986 was the year that I started learning German and I really enjoyed that year after year I understood more and more of the news, the commercials and the reports in German. Radio Danubius stayed with me for 23 years and it is a pity that is now belongs to the past. However, most of the staff was taken over by its successor Class FM.
I remember well the late 80s, when Danubius did broadcast German language news as the only Hungarian station on CCIR, the other stations still were on OIRT-FM.
