  • I had a similar experience to Jed's. It wasn't a duck, but a seagull and it was fishing line wrapped around it, not a 6 pack and it wasn't by any means that hard to catch. I pretty much backed it into a corner, picked it up and with the help of my friends, got the fishing line off the bird. I named him Lucky. lol

  • Who would've thought that one little duck could cause so much trouble.

  • aw, yay for ed the duck!

  • I think the main lesson here is quite clear: Don't Litter! Throw your garbage into trash cans, not into ponds, lakes, rivers, and certainly not on the ground!

  • goldberggg.....

  • Funny they thought of getting Ed drunk to catch him, maybe they should have tried getting him to smoke some quack...

  • light harassment lol

  • i like playing with those beer things

  • man this duck is really smart also who named him Ed

  • that poor duck, i feel sorry for the poor thing.

  • @StefanoFan27 people like u retards shuld stop throing shit in the ponds and rivers or any were els cuz thats how this happens

  • Ok, one saved duck, one damaged man... hmmm. I appreciate Jeff big time, but damn...

  • Hi,

  • wow.thats really nice.those ppl spent over 2 weeks trying to help that duck.

  • It goes to show, always know how deep a river is before jumping into it from a 15 foot high bridge...

  • I have a pet duck, and I've been waiting for this one to finally be posted. Mine is Muscogi, not Mallard, but still I have an attachment to all ducks. They're right about it killing him. The duck has an expanded throat for swallowing and when something gets around it, even if it's not very tight, it can seriously affect swallowing and food can get caught in the throat, smothering it. Had he been eating hard dry food, he would have choked to death on it.

  • has anyone noticed the Numbers in this episode, this technique is used in the season 1 episodes, #107-#220.

  • LOL! What a dumb-ass!

  • Ed was saying in duck language im free lol

  • Before I watched this segment when it originaly aired on CBS and I was in 5th grade, I never cut up 6 pack ring holders from drinking pepsi.

After the episode ended since this was the 4th and last segment, I felt compelled to go to the kitchen and cut the six pack ring of pepsi with some scissors.

This situation is also a good lesson and reminder to people not to throw litter, and not to pollute in to lakes, creeks, and streams.

  • And it reminds us especialy if we are standing on a bridge, and there is a river over us, not to throw our garbage from above into a river below.

  • goes to show you that ppl should always cut up 6-pack plastic ring holders before throwing them away or something like this can happen.

  • Great show.

    I hate animal torture.

but at least they got it off him.

    bad luck for Jeff.

please dont dump litter in ponds.

  • I hate when people shoot ducks.

Duck doesn't even taste good. The only time I had it was when a gourmet chef cooked it. I didn't like it even though it was cooked to perfection.

I loved all her other meals though.

  • Boy, taking 17 days to capture one elusive mallard duck to get the six-pack ring off his neck. Really wierd segment, I'll tell you that.
