  • 1. You have to fill the filter with espresso, then you can tamp it (I don't know if is written like that, tamp).

    2. You have to turn the filter in the knockbox to see if you have tamped it right.

    3. The perfect espresso ends at 24 seconds, before 20 seconds is subextracted, after 30 seconds is overextracted.

  • I don't know about 24 seconds...according to Dr. Illy, the perfect double is 30sec.

  • @BurlyGinger espresso shouldn't be double. An espressso is an espresso. want more ? drink a second one afterwards ;)

  • Looks real good but for me tamping as hard as possible usually means a blocked basket.

  • @TerribleTony That just means you should make your grind a little less fine.
