why wasn't this huge news? as a kid I remember always hearing about titan as a possible place for life. I knew we were gonna go there, but I didn't know it had already happened. this should have been on the front page of every paper.
@KwongLee12345678 nahhh it's real, I've seen it from NASA and the BBC even did a documentary on it with the same images saying it was true. They just remixed some separated parts to make this video here as if it was only one big video, but the images are the real thing
I hope I get to live to witness Mankind landing a spacecraft on Europa to scan it's oceans. Both the ideas of Finding Life and not finding any life would be exciting to me.
@Bidziscool You know we have mate, this is real footage captured from the hygens probe that lifted off from Earth back in 1997 that seperated from the cassini orbitor on december 25 2004 and landed on 14th jan 2005, it took 6 years to get there and 1.2 billion kms, it sent back data when it landed for 90 minutes also.
@Lvieru96 This is a CG animation based on real visual data from Cassini-Huygens during the descent. Nasa recreated a 3d world from those images, anyway this is not real, you can find the real footage by tiping "huygens landing on titan part 2. I hope this helps
i love this new commercial from shell where they say they developed cleaner burning oil for power plants because they want a cleaner future.... roaight shell is the single biggest thing that stands in the way of a cleaner atmosphere. i believe they also have some patents that they will only come to use when oil runs out. which could make oil obsolete right now!
They say that Titan has a underground ocean of water. "We believe that about 62 miles beneath the ice and organic-rich surface is an internal ocean of liquid water mixed with ammonia," said Bryan Stiles of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory
@MicrosoftsourceCode no, in fact its one of Saturn moons, it -180 degrees so there no water there, instead methane (i think that's how you spell it) has turned to a liquid (methane is a highly flammable gas here on earth) and that means that the planet can sustain life, its the only planet (or moon) with an atmosphere like earth. i just can't wait till they launch some sorta robot thing to go round taking clips on Titan. :)
Right on earth we know living things like humans and cows produce methane from farting and with cows from belching. So the assumption is something living produced the methane gas on Titan. But I think you will find that Earth is more than just methane. Earth is covered with living creatures and has many gases and many variations in temperature. Earth has everything for life that the other planets do not have.
I remember this when it first happened... Absolutely amazing! It's amazing to see another world so far away! Whether there's life, or not, I find it fascinating! My granddaddy loved astronomy, and it's a shame he didn't live to see this, he would have been speechless! I'm amazed that we have come so far in technology, sending a probe at that distance and being so precise! I love science, esp. astronomy! I can't wait to see more worlds! I hope to see Europa or Enceladus next! 5/5!
i think we would explore the galaxy, cus we alredy going a long ways and nasa a dn space exploraions been aorund only liek 60 years think how far space exploration will get in 1 million years i say we be advance
i agree hopefully peoples attitudes will evolve by the time titan may become habitable, one day the sun will make the earth unsuitable to sustain any type of life..titan might be the next earth if it forms oceans in that time, but it will be temporary again ..we should be doing alot more about space research knowing that in 5 billion years the sun will super nova and humans will be wiped from existence.
we have some time to prepare then.. I think we can do it in less than 1 billion years and that gives me some consolation,, Seriously.. it will be done.
Titan could have a liquid methane ocean, that should be fantastic,it means that simply lifeforms could live on the planet. But not only it means that on this planet could be the beginning of life.
@z0rbiz The only ones who believe oil is the only source of energy on the planet are those who chose to regurgitate incoherent corporate slogans in stead of actually thinking for a fraction of a second.
The only answers I get from people of their ilk is that anybody except fossil fuel is "stupid" without any explanation beyond that.
dude this is 4 billion years away. the earth will explode in about 6-8 billion years time and as for the oil stuff.... wind power and necuear. thats what england are gonna have to do when the oil and stuff runs out lol
for a 1 world goverment so when they fuck earth and 80% of its people up next yr 7/07/08 its not a jk type "lucifer project" on google if u find enything onit then ull relise why will fuk up titan
If aliens exsist thers a chance ther living on titan since the tempature is only 150 below i think, the pressure can be resistable since its about double earths strength, plus its surface cant be seen cause the toxic haze which is poisonus to us but they might breathe it as their air!
I'm inclined to disagree. If the people going to a new planet (or moon) are going for science, not conquest, there's no logical reason for it to be destroyed.
