Actually where there is a need someone in the private sector will fill it. Why not make every road a toll road? Why not have a private business inspect the restaurant we eat at? etc...we've been conditioned to think we would be floundering fools without Big Brother to hold our hand. I thought the Tea Party Movement was Non-Partisan?
What is a Republican Politician doing "inviting" people to "show your support because 'WE' don't have the votes to stop this" ???
That sounds to me like Backmann is using the Tea Party Brand to drum up GOP support!

More specifically dogstar7 the tea party movement has been hijacked. Let me elaborate on this because I am a republican.
The latest polls show that 20% of people will openly identify themselves as republican. Now the first question one should ask is what do the remaining 80% of republicans identify themselves as?
In basic ideology the libertarian movement has always been aligned towards the republican party due to independence of the government on the business level.

So then one has to look at the sudden "burst" of libertarians and what is essentially looked as an outside movement is suddenly not only brought into the mainstream but also funded by a television company.
However then comes the question of the Tea party against the republicans. The answer to that is there are actually two tea party movements, one being aligned to Ron Paul and the other being aligned to the extreme republican fringe and supported by Fox News.

As evidence one only has to look at the self-proclaimed libertarian Lee Doren of Bureaucrash which is owned by CEI a conservative think tank.
Since his appointment to the head of Bureaucrash the libertarians of the group has deserted the organization. Leaving Lee to push his conservative agenda on a remaining libertarians.
In his youtube videos, not once has he actually championed any libertarian ideals but instead has attacked the administration. In short he is a neo-con.
