i find this pretty amazing having this game completely for free. and yet so unknown on internet? these graffics i think bypass WoW... look at the lines of the humans. etc. blizzard needs to come up with some wicked new MMO that replaces wow due to epic graffics soon or they will lose it. i think diablo aint the thing too. i heard they were making a game called ''titan'' and is under development.
@twinkstance pretty bad comparison, considering WoW never boasted having the best, or most realistic graphics. The graphics for WoW are as they are because it works for the game.
Guild Wars, Final Fantasy Online, Rift, Aion, all went for a more "realistic" look, and a look that "surpasses" WoW...and look where that got them.
@blackhorse1988 As a former player of Guild Wars I'd say that it was 10x better than WoW. It was the bullshit expansions that ruined GW for me (hearing the same from WoW players). Just hoping they wont screw it up with GW2. =)
Well, i have played WoW almost since its release and i can tell you that at least the Burning Crusade was great back in the days. Remember that wow is not only the gameplay, but the setting, and the new zones, looks and specially sound and music were amazing.
Anyways, blizzard are losing everyone's respect since they are becoming greedy console-centered fucks with meh innovation standards.
Looks like i'll give Guild Wars 2 a try (SW:ToR looks mediocre to me).

This looks almost like NeverWinter nights 2 only much better graphics and improved combat animation sync O.o apart from those 2 things this might as well be Never Winter Nights 3 By the looks of it O.o
This is a solid RPG for anyone who enjoy games like Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter Nights and perhaps even Dragon Age although Drakensang is more like a fairytale. One thing that irritated me were the cliches that are everywhere in the game.

das heißt man anwiesiert gegner und weißt die gruppe ein was sie machen soll man kann auch paussieren um neu einzustellen hack and slay gibts nict was auch bei dem spiel gut so ist.

Well @Wilhelmspw I guess it's just a matter of taste,I to finished DAO and liked it a lot(i finished it with all classes),I also really enjoy shooters like borderlands,the f.e.a.r series,S.T.A.L.K.E.R,and so on...but this game didn't really grab me,but I'll give the second one a try..and if I like it,I'll probably play the first one as well.

I think Drakensang is one of the greatest games ever! but you have to understand everything to have fun. And the first three hours aren´t really intresting. Where do you was? Avestreu? Ferdok? The game starts to be good at Moorbrück.

The level design is terrible (remind me of one environment that had a significant effect on gameplay besides looking pretty) etc.

1. Sort of, you are limited to certain areas (maps) and after you finish the main quest you can't come back. And you need to finish the main quest of each map to continue the story and open new maps. But there are tons of side quests and you can spend a lot of time just roaming around and looking at the locales.
2. Yes and you can change the setup on the keyboard. You can play the whole game with just the mouse, but I find mainly mouse with WASD and some shortcuts perfect.

How the fuck could I have missed this gem? I've been tracking game industry in 2008 and I haven't seen it.
Looks like another great game without "a name" They didn't advertise enough. Same case with my favorite strategy, Armies of Exigo, almost flawles, like Drakensang, did not have "a name"
Downloading now, I'm full of excitement, is this better than Dragon Age? Because everything is more original than Dragon Age

I'm not impressed with this game only because I'm a huge fan of Gothic, PBytes and the German school of rpg. It's a great game. There's a lot of Dragon Age on it and I've got over 1000 hours into DA with over 100 vids of it.
Camera can be easily mastered if you played DA. Very same style of 3 zoom levels and right mouse button to drive. But it is open world and 3d, something that DA is not. While I love DA, diversity is always good. DS and Risen are great games by the great German RPG school.

This game is the most boooooring game I've EVER played,I've played a LOT pf Rpg's but this one...damn...SUCKS !
I mean the game should be called ,,Killing rats and destroying barrels '' because 30 % of the game that's all you'll ever do in it,the story may be the single thing holding this game together because the gameplay SUCKS bigtime...It's the first game that I've tried playing with a trainer,but even that can't fix a horrible game !

@StrangerFromAbove well for me games like dragon age get boring within 2 hours..i finished drakensang,river of time(that came out this month) within 3 days.....i couldnt stop playing and i destroyed every damm barrel heheheeh i was so sad when the game was finished...really i play AvP in DX11 ,i fly ww2 planes in multiplayer with track ir,etc etc BUT this game series is really the most enjoyable,together with never winter nights 2

Well @Wilhelmspw I guess it's just a matter of taste,I to finished DAO and liked it a lot(i finished it with all classes),I also really enjoy shooters like borderlands,the f.e.a.r series,S.T.A.L.K.E.R,and so on...but this game didn't really grab me,but I'll give the second one a try..and if I like it,I'll probably play the first one as well.
PS : Oh and AVP...ahm...sorry but NOOO :D

It´s not a sound bug. I played the game and know that radon labs didn´t add sound to every dialogue. But in "Drakensang 2" they´ll do it.

I played Drakensang for about three hours.
At that time I wanted to jab a pen into my eye but realized it was easier, and less painful, to just uninstall this game.

I think Drakensang is one of the greatest games ever! but you have to understand everything to have fun. And the first three hours aren´t really intresting. Where do you was? Avestreu? Ferdok? The game starts to be good at Moorbrück.

I completed the first 'area' and was allowed access into the town (over the bridge). The game just never 'grabbed me' I guess.
Right now I'm playing Titan Quest, KOTOR, Ys II and ToEE and am, for maybe different reasons, enjoying those games a lot more.

At the first area the game didn´t 'grabbed' me too. But in Ferdok the story begins and then it starts to'grab' you.

@cerberuscore7 - Why hate Dragon Age? Well first off you have to look at its ridiculous price - it is not a $50 game, even with the expansion. Next you have to see the relatively poor gameplay that is slow and tedious (compare to its contemporary Mass Effect 2, or its predecessors Baldur's Gate and Fallout) and matches more of an MMO style combat system. The level design is terrible (remind me of one environment that had a significant effect on gameplay besides looking pretty) etc.

Die Quests sind nicht so leicht wie bei andere RPGs. Ich hoofen ich konnte helfen

1. Sort of, you are limited to certain areas (maps) and after you finish the main quest you can't come back. And you need to finish the main quest of each map to continue the story and open new maps. But there are tons of side quests and you can spend a lot of time just roaming around and looking at the locales.
2. Yes and you can change the setup on the keyboard. You can play the whole game with just the mouse, but I find mainly mouse with WASD and some shortcuts perfect.

Yes you can walk freeroam, but of course with limit not like gothic 3 or oblivion, walking with w,a,s,d moving the cam with q and e, but with rightclick to and a mount dont think so, and my opinion i have this game to but i dont played so long im only at the start but its very cool, you can speak with peoples you can lie than they give you something, but only if you have a good charisma
