Nah Christian wasn't all that good IMO, I prefer the new line-up it's more epic and embracing. I don't know what shows some of you guys went to, but I've seen them 3 nights in a row each song was spot on and sounded amazing, it's hard to get that quality recorded live, but actually being there live tells a different story =)

Personally im doing fine with the new vocalists, they sound powerful and at least we still get to hear christian in solution .45 (which is a pretty bomb band)
A vocal driven band they are, one singer doesnt make the entire band collectively, respectfully speaking.
Cant really blame him though, tours are really stressful for many musicians despite the fun they often have

They kicked him out because he didn't want to tour right away and they did. Many bands don't do doubles, and some just have a bassist or guitarist do the other part of the vocals.
You people need to get this threw your head. Band members come and go, sometimes Guitars, sometimes Drums, but vocals seem to be the biggest impact. Sure, I'm not going to deny that Christian was an amazing vocalist, but he's left to work with his new band. It was his choice and trusted that the remaining members would decide on the correct replacement.
If you hate the new vocalists so much, stop listening to Scar Symmetry and wait for Solution .45..

They didn't want 2 singers at the time, Christian left because the band wanted to tour right away and he didn't, he wanted to work on his side project AS WELL AS let the record get some sales under its belt so they could correctly fund the tour. I've been to several of scar symmetry's shows and have asked about it. They parted and called upon the "Creative differences" excuse.

Christian is renowned for his ability to switch seemlessy between vocal styles and stay consistent. I've seen Roberth, and Lars do their thing live, and they struggle so hard to switch between their vocal roles, as well as have any sort of stage presence, and they're dripping with sweat after the first song...

Linkin Park had two vocalists in the beginning and they are one of the best bands out there also they don't always have two vocalists every song and Mike is more of back up vocalist except on in the end it's also their style. 2. I see now u can't compare Lars with Christians clean vocals because they are too different but you can with Roberth and Christian's fact is they both sound similar on the they're death growl vocals but not with the Screams. The new singer is really good, almost as good as Christian... The new screamer is pretty badass too but I personally think he's unnecessary, since one of their guitarists used to do the backing growls and could probably take over all of them.

Christian is in a new band Solution .45. They sound awesome. They will be recording their debut album in fall 2009. Check them out. Also, to me it kind of sounds like one of the new singers has too much power metal influence in his vocals. Just saying

Alvestam was better than both of them put together. Look they had to find a vocalist that can growl, and one that can be clean, alvestam had so much talent they could not find another one just like him. He and Howard of KSE are the best singers in melodic metal.
KSE is not melodic metal, even if I do like metalcore. And I don't know, Howard don't sound that good live, Jesse Leach (the former vocalist of KSE) is much better, have a good scream and a killer clean voice (just listen to the chorus of Temple from the Within)

Maybe best for the live shows. But, scar symmetry is a band where they are not known for their live acts. This is a good recording studio band, and since christian left it will be a huge blow to their sound. Christian is talented. You should do your best to hold on to those kind of people who can get the job done. Turns out, not too many other people can.
the growler was AMAZING but i'm worried about the clean singer; sure, it's fine to have a unique style but save that for newer material, RECREATE past songs as well as you can. the cover at 1:29 sounds nothing like christian and kinda ... kills it. i'm disappointed, but hey let's hope i'm wrong. lmao

I checked out that video. Horrible quality and obnoxious fans singing aside, I thought they both sounded awesome. Roberth is an awesome growler, and Lars' voice reminds me a bit of Mats Levin. It's way too early for another album, but they need to release an EP or something with some live tracks and maybe a couple new studio tracks with Lars and Roberth.
2 guys to replace 1..... Just watch out cuz I think Christian is gonna make a band VERY happy and they will be big too.. These guys dont sound too bad at all tho! As close as can be..

I like the new vocalists personally...their different, and honestly I don't think they'll ever be able to replace Christian, but the new vocalists do a good job...I'm looking forward to heaering the stuff they do with SS.
Also in a quick thought 'I wish them the best, but 2 vocalist rarely ever work, i really really hope they work, scar symmetry is such a kick ass band! ' think of Sonic Syndicate, Twin Method, Nightwish, Linkin Park, Sevendust etc etc ;)
as for the new singers, well of course they wont sound like Christian but they do sound very good, and they are long term friends anyway i do believe so it's unlikely that they'll disagree with things.

The new singer is really good, almost as good as Christian... The new screamer is pretty badass too but I personally think he's unnecessary, since one of their guitarists used to do the backing growls and could probably take over all of them.

Christian is in a new band Solution .45. They sound awesome. They will be recording their debut album in fall 2009. Check them out. Also, to me it kind of sounds like one of the new singers has too much power metal influence in his vocals. Just saying

Alvestam was better than both of them put together. Look they had to find a vocalist that can growl, and one that can be clean, alvestam had so much talent they could not find another one just like him. He and Howard of KSE are the best singers in melodic metal.

KSE is not melodic metal, even if I do like metalcore. And I don't know, Howard don't sound that good live, Jesse Leach (the former vocalist of KSE) is much better, have a good scream and a killer clean voice (just listen to the chorus of Temple from the Within)

Maybe best for the live shows. But, scar symmetry is a band where they are not known for their live acts. This is a good recording studio band, and since christian left it will be a huge blow to their sound. Christian is talented. You should do your best to hold on to those kind of people who can get the job done. Turns out, not too many other people can.

the growler was AMAZING but i'm worried about the clean singer; sure, it's fine to have a unique style but save that for newer material, RECREATE past songs as well as you can. the cover at 1:29 sounds nothing like christian and kinda ... kills it. i'm disappointed, but hey let's hope i'm wrong. lmao

I checked out that video. Horrible quality and obnoxious fans singing aside, I thought they both sounded awesome. Roberth is an awesome growler, and Lars' voice reminds me a bit of Mats Levin. It's way too early for another album, but they need to release an EP or something with some live tracks and maybe a couple new studio tracks with Lars and Roberth.

The clean vocalist isn't too bad, but the growls sound nothing like they need to for the music. That and they're awful.
What a shame... the band will probably go down hill from here. :(

I like the new vocalists personally...their different, and honestly I don't think they'll ever be able to replace Christian, but the new vocalists do a good job...I'm looking forward to heaering the stuff they do with SS.

I really don't know what to say about the new vocalists.....I'd have to hear them in an album. To answer some questions, yes, it was Christian who was singing in the album Holographic Universe. It was his last album with Scar Symmetry.=( But I'm still curious to hear the new guys clearly.

I know. he played live a few times. every once and a while he will play but he thinks its a waste of time. he like to make music a lot more then going on tour as we can see. its sucks tho i wish i could have saw them with Christian live. guess i'll just hope for one of his other 6 bands to tour.
