Love how Hamilton has one poor season due to immaturity and/or lifes problems and suddenly he isn't "great" in peoples eyes. FACT:he will always be the quickest driver in this generation.
This just proves Lewis Hamilton is one of the greats! Good car, bad car, spec car, the kid is fast. In my opinion he is one of the most gifted drivers since Senna.
ART was backed by Mclaren cash and expertise all to make sure Hamilton had the very best to go fast Piquet was running a family team and still lost the championship only because his car broke in too many races. Both drivers deserved to be in F1!
After seeing this, can anyone still say that Hamilton didn´t deserve his place at Mclaren in the following season? I mean come on, Hamilton was the most talked and promising driver since Senna past away, Ron Dennis would NEVER give a mclaren seat to an average driver, the top teams only want the very best driving for them. As for the die hard Sebastian Bieber fans who say Vettel worked harder than Hamilton to get a seat in F1. Say again how many races Vettel won in GP2? Oh yeah...I rest my case.
@BAR006JBTS That's not true Bruno Junqueiro had beaten Button fair and square and was almost half a second faster than Button when both tested for Williams at the same time. The only reason Button got an F1 seat in Williams those days was because he was British that's common knowledge.
@i333r You clearly don't know your facts, in the 1st test against each other neither set a time because of mechanical gremlins, in the second test, JunquierA not Junqueiro, did a 1.23.5, Button did a 1.23.3... You're making stuff up because you're a bitter Hamilton fan who hates Button for beating him. And if it's common knowledge he got the drive because he was a Brit, why have I only heard it from you?
@chargesofheresy Yes I wouldn't deny that, but that's qualifying pace, you need so much more to be a good driver. They're both good, but for me neither is clearly superior to the other. Also remember that qualifying and race pace are two different things and Button is one of the fastest out there on race pace, look at his whole career and you can see that.
@BAR006JBTS I think you're mistaking race craft, which undoubtedly, this season button had the better of, with race pace. On race pace, point A-B as fast as possible you can't deny the top three have got to be Alonso, Hamilton Vettle, but in terms of decision making, and thinking you're way through a race, Button has the edge. But then again it must be considered Hamilton has had a terrible seaon. I would say if you took each driver on there best day Hamilton is better.
@chargesofheresy No no, I'm definately not mistaking race craft for race pace, although you're correct, Hamilton does have poor, poor race craft. If you look at Button's pace in races he is generally as fast as Hamilton, it's very even but Button is actually very, very fast in that area. Look at races like India, Brazil, Britain and Belgium, he was just faster than Hamilton in the race. In my opinion take both on their best day and it's impossible to choose. They're as good as each other.
@BAR006JBTS I would say given the current regulations each on there day, would be close, but on the other hand i think the current regs play to drivers like button, Vettel and less to raw speed drivers like alonso, hamilton, Raikonenn ( when he's back)
@chargesofheresy I would agree the current regs definately take the edge off of Hamilton's strengths. Thats because F1 isn't made of sprint stints anymore, now you need intelligence. I don't agree that takes the edge off of Alonso who was supreme last year. The current regs play into Vettel, Button and Alonso's hands and not into Hamilton's because you need spare capacity, something he lacks. Now you need raw speed and intelligence. Hence why Lewis was 5th in the standings last season.
@Covzz09 It would be a shame if Timo never gets the chance to be in a challenging car, I think Timo in a top team would be really fast, but I'm not sure others imagination would stretch that far, because he is in one of the slowest teams.
Honestly, I don't care how much you hate Hamilton; he and Alonso are the two best drivers in F1 and you people who call him garbage just make yourselves look arrogant and stupid. They may not be the two most likeable guys in F1, but they are the best.
lewis hamilton ftw he is amazing i have been folowing him all the way when he done go karting now im doing go karting and im pushing for it i want tbe in the grand prix one day i had my first go yesterday i was only 8 secs off the coddete record come on lewis u can do it
If people say Lewis is not a great driver then they need to watch this, In equal machinery to everyone he destroys the field bar one, but pause at 5:18 and see how fricking close to the astroturf Lewis gets, its like a millimetre. Great Video :)
@Ferrari123planb How do you know there isn't of Hamilton? Hamilton started in karting before Vettel you know and raising the finger like that is a pretty well known celebration, even before the f1 guys started doing it.
And show me the pictures, couldn't find them myself. But managed to find a picture of vettel doing it in 2004 and Hamilton doing it 2003.
@MyTennis2009 cannot post links in comment section. but the reason why vettel is so infamous for the "finger" and people like lewis arent is cuz seb does it every time he gets a pole or a win, and its not 1 little finger its a very weird curved finger that he does like 8 or 9 times by pulling his arm back and launching his arm out with his finger out. yes idont care if u do it when u win a WDC or when u win a race like button did in canada. but dont do it when u and 2nd place has a 15 second gap
@unskeptable How can you possibly say Hamilton is the worst driver ever? Worse than Yuji Ide? Worse than half the grid in the 1990s? How can you say a world champion is the worst driver ever?
@unskeptable That is an outrageous and false claim. I believe you ought to be thinking about your country's problems rather than create this ridiculous lie. I see no Greek driver on the F1 grid. I demand to see evidence that you drive better than the 2008 world champion.
To be honest, that was a great drive, but he could've won it if Glock wasn't weaving so much when defending his position. Glocks defensive driving against both Hamilton and Piquet was downright dangerous.
@insimonia1990 I don't think it was so bad - Glock didn't make multiple moves or anything, to me it just looked like he just held on to his line and refused to crack under great pressure - Glock vs. Hamilton was some of the best racing I've seen in the last 5-6 years, very tough but within the rules.

This is one of my favourite Videos, thanks for the upload. Now i know what Schumacher was talking about when he said how good Hamilton was in Turkey :)
Phenomenal stuff from lewis there. Its not the car that did it for him their its his use of the late breaking and lifting off the throttle darting up the inside then slamming on the brakes taking a tight line into the corner and then covering any counter attack.
Gob smackingly awesome driving! Proof (if it's still needed) we are very lucky to be witnessing the career of Lewis! Top respect for Lewis from all of us!
@Infernal06 the pole time for GT1 at Abu Dhabi was 2:06, they are no where near GP2 pace, the difference in downforce is huge and the pole time for GP2 was a 1:48.5, not sure where you got those times from.
It was the fact Zuber drove the perfect race for his maiden GP2 win and nobody gave him much credit which compliments hamilton's drive the most I think and it's a shame hamilton hasnt taken this to F1, well the hunger and spirit's still there but his overtakes have become rather more illegitimate. Still fantastic drive :)
@hamiltonfan4eva that was quite good bbut som etimes they are crap and if he had a car like the red bul... thats what i mean by a good car, the only reason he beats the red bulls is cos hes such a good driver :D
schumacher is the greatest f1 driver of all time from my view but hamilton is without doubt the best overtaker i have ever seen. honestly, there is no driver who can overtake like him. probably made more overtakes in 2010 than all the other drivers put together. i never got to see senna race - my dad did. he says senna is the real rain master but hamilton has senna when it comes to overtaking. phenominal drive.
GP2 Drivers have a Desperate Dan Do or Die attitude...they're fearless. In F1, you have to be a bit more cautious, as the cars are more powerful, but the 2010 season was immense! Hulkenberg and Petrov still had the Do or Die attitude alright!
This man was born to drive. The best F1 driver since Senna... It is not a matter of opinion, it is matter of facts. All you have to do in order to come to an informed opinion as the saying goes, is to let the facts guide you.
When you examine (fairly) the contemporaneous evidence on this F1 driver's skills and ability you can only draw one conclusion... He is undoubtedly the best.
I may be entitled to my opinion, BUT not the facts that support it, 'coz they are subject to scrutiny!
I try as much as possible not comment in such a forum, cos 99% of d users
are imbeciles. And u gloriously lead this group.
Have u ever raced an open wheeler?Have u got a $250,000 simulator in ur cellar?Have you got a house?I have all the above.
That being said,if u read my comment thoroughly, and most importantly, understood it,u would have known that I referred to Lewis as the best thing that ever happened to F1.King Lewis the greatest racer of all time.
@cdilluminati1 LOL. you have no idea of F1 for saying that. Lewis is for sure the best thing TODAY. Lewis is the way to go, BY FAR the best driver TODAY. "of all time" "best thing EVER happened" wtf man what a lack of knowledge.
I did not like him in 2007, because of being a Ferrari fan. But as the years has passed and I have become more objective in my view, I must say that Hamilton is the BEST driver. At least the most entertaining and best at overtakes. Awesome to watch.
that very gracious from a Ferrari fan. I did not think any of you guys had it in him to say this. Well most of the ones i have met are obnoxious. Are you sure you are a Ferrari fan?
@BomberAl123 After a weak qualifying he started the first race 6th or something like that, but after that he finished 2nd, that's why he started here only 7th again (The top 8 drivers from the first race started in reversed order).

Hamilton and Glock side by side for 20 seconds.
Why did Glock go to Virgin, I understand he was offered a seat at Renault?
Maybe I got confuzzled...

schumacher is the greatest f1 driver of all time from my view but hamilton is without doubt the best overtaker i have ever seen. honestly, there is no driver who can overtake like him. probably made more overtakes in 2010 than all the other drivers put together. i never got to see senna race - my dad did. he says senna is the real rain master but hamilton has senna when it comes to overtaking. phenominal drive.

glock deserves a better drive than virgin.

GP2 Drivers have a Desperate Dan Do or Die attitude...they're fearless. In F1, you have to be a bit more cautious, as the cars are more powerful, but the 2010 season was immense! Hulkenberg and Petrov still had the Do or Die attitude alright!

he is easily the most exciting driver to set foot in GP2 and F1, if Kobayashi was his main rival, we would see the greatest title battle ever seen

Hamilton!

@Taikamya
Now sod off.

I did not like him in 2007, because of being a Ferrari fan. But as the years has passed and I have become more objective in my view, I must say that Hamilton is the BEST driver. At least the most entertaining and best at overtakes. Awesome to watch.
scefen 1 year ago 3
@scefen
that very gracious from a Ferrari fan. I did not think any of you guys had it in him to say this. Well most of the ones i have met are obnoxious. Are you sure you are a Ferrari fan?
teewoods 11 months ago
@teewoods Do I sense some sarcasm? I did not mean to make myself look gracious. My point was only that Hamilton rocks.

Why was he so much faster than everybody else in the race but only qualified on the second row?
BomberAl123 1 year ago
@BomberAl123 After a weak qualifying he started the first race 6th or something like that, but after that he finished 2nd, that's why he started here only 7th again (The top 8 drivers from the first race started in reversed order).
Infernal06 1 year ago
@Infernal06 how would cars like ferrari f40 compare against a gp2?
