I go through Cdbaby.com. You upload your album for 40 bucks, buy a 20 dollar barcode for it and bam! You get a Url for your fans to look at and you name the price for your cd!

I'm surprised that iTunes would accept a physically CD and printed artwork. I'd expect most prospective unsigned artists would want to provide pristine audio files straight out of the mastering software and artwork in bitmap format.

Looks like a lot of work and money. I advise people to use other stores, like Bandcamp or Indietorrent. They are much easier to use and give more money to the musicians.

They are better for customers as well, since they don't require a program to make purchases, only a browser, plus they provide better quality files.

@Shamrocker00 You gotta promote to the right audiences. Getting some gigs and selling merch like CDs and/or shirts at your shows is a good way to get yourself out there. Youtube and Facebook are some other great ways, hell even go with Myspace and Google+ if you want so that more people see you and check you out. The best thing to do is to get out there and promote yourself and try to get gigs and record deals rather than just waiting to be discovered.
