The insturmentation on WTB is so overlooked because most people are not used to mono, or are hearing stereo with no center. But with some selective EQing, or folding the stereo more center, you can better hear how amazing the Beatles were even this early. Now EMI, release individual stems stereo (or 4 and 8 track mono tracks) so you don't have to remix the Beatles, so the original mixes always remain relevant, but fans like me can make their own remixes as Yellow Submaring Soundtrack and Love,
you're awesome :) ...If it wasn't for you I'd never know how complex is to play bass xD... and now I appreciate Paul's talent even more...He had to sing at the same fucking time, dude!
@ragamuffing I love your comments! I don't think McCartney ever gets enough credit because people don't realize how hard it is to sing lead and play bass at the same time. And it's not just singing lead either, he had the complex harmonies too! Thanks for stopping by.
@ragamuffing Dude listen to all of Paul's basslines. I don't think there are too many easy ones. I think that is why Geddy Lee of Rush, and Chris Squire of Yes (both awsome in your face bass players) always said that McCartney is why they wanted to play bass!!!!
ive been listening to this so much i practically prefer the bassline than the melody now!! so good. is this the original bass line or ur own composition?
@aaronjreid cool, its so good, im amazed i never realised it was there lying under one of my favourite beatles melodys!! thanks, and keep posting. my friends always talking about the bassline of hello goodbye, i suggest a post!!!!
@aaronjreid it wouldnt b one of my favourtie songs but i just watched ur video and it is a nice bassline, but its paul he cant do any wrong!! lucy in the sky with diamonds is also a wonderful line.
Sorry - I went to do a comparison of the other bass covers, and they were solid technically, but they just didn't have the feel that yours had. I think even Sir Paul would be honored. I give credit where it's due.
Very nice job. McCartney is the most melodic bassist I've ever heard. He really knows how to drive a song. And you did an excellent job of nailing it.

@oliverhamilton It's basically note for note from the recording. Not perfect but fairly close.

@oliverhamilton I love the bass line to Hello Goodbye, I'd love to record that one. My favorite bass line has to be One After 909.

@MagicalMysteryTube I agree, just out of curiousity have you heard of James Jamerson....as good as Paul is, James was the king....
Check out some of the old Motown songs like "For Once in My Life" by Stevie Wonder or "Reach Out I'll Be There" by the Four Tops
if you already knew this, than lets just enjoy two amazing bassists!

@hofnerrick yes but not as melodic. it was a fairly cut and dry thing with rock and roll for the most part.
