You don't need to cut the box open, you actually just need a thumb that pushes the cardboard off the plastic shell. And the bumper didn't sit on the iPhone correctly, which can cause the sleep and wake button to malfunction.

The bumper case is actually the best case I've ever owned for my iPhone. Since it now comes free with every iPhone 4 it's also the cheapest.

It does not covert the front or back - but the truth is that you don't need it to. Who wants to cover up the great looking glass anyway?

I can stick this on my dashboard without it sliding, lean the phone against something and the rubber edge grips and keeps it from slipping over.

Leave it to Apple -- the simplest iPhone case turns out to be the best.
