  • It's not a GT40 replica; it's a GTM.

The front end looks as much Saleen S7 as it does GT-40 and the rear looks nothing like a GT40, so the fact that it's a GTM and not a GT40 replica is not splitting hairs.

  • If there's anything I hate, it's people putting on fantastic videos on YouTube and then saying little or nothing about it in text! Where was this filmed? What show or contest what this? Who were the owners of the car? When was this display? What's the design team's name? What does the design team estimate the miles per gallon to be? What is the owner's and/or design team's contact information? What was the total cost of the project? Where can a person go see this vehicle? --- etc. etc

  • No success untill they got that terribly noise sorted out.

  • Factory 5 GTM is NOT a replica of anything and certainly not a FORD.

  • @MrUrmother22 Factory 5 will assemble (build) cars to order which is the definition of a car manufacturer. The GTM was built to accept GM CORVETTE components in a mid engine config. None ever built with a little 302 ford.If you think so, just show me one. AC was a British car company that built a 2 seat convertible that Carrol Shelby stuck a FORD V-8 into- That makes an AC a Ford HOW? How much ignorance can you spew out in ONE post you pathetic ignorant TROLL?

  • @sbd45acpAC started using the 2.6 litre Ford Zephyr engine in its cars. In September 1961, Shelby airmailed AC a letter asking them if they would build him a car modified to accept a V8 engine. AC agreed, provided a suitable engine could be found. He first went to Chevrolet to see if they would provide him with engines, but not wanting to add competition to the Corvette they said no.

  • @MrUrmother22 You really did NOT just cut and paste that ENTIRE paragraph from Wiki did you? Yeah ya did....

  • ITS NOT A GT 40.

  • To be honest, I've been contemplating possible turbine implementation (like the Jag CX-75) alongside an electric drivetrain in a GT4o, and I think I've got it largely figure out. I believe what the GT40 loses in aero efficiency, it could make up through using a bigger set of turbines. Now if only I could get the capital to put my theory to the test....

  • who woudnt want a car that sounds like an airplane?

  • @MrAHarris21 Batman

  • Yes but less exhaust per distance. Turbines run much more efficiently than piston engines. That car probably gets 50 mpg.

  • @MrStuPhil Specs on the Capstone C30 turbine is actually 40-210 mpg, depending on what fuel you put into it...

  • @PhantomGP01 Sir, can you show me any reference that proves this thing may be capable of 210 MPG?

  • @sbd45acp Capstone's website. I'll try to find a link, or you can look for it yourself.

  • @sbd45acp Found it. If you Google CMT380_lowres.pdf, it should be the first result. It will take you directly to an Adobe Acrobat file on Capstone's website. I would give you the link, but YouTube's restrictions are not permitting me.

  • @PhantomGP01 Thanks, Found it. SAE J1711 (Proposed) Method is a way to offer a comparison or equivalent to MPG for hybrids. MANY variations dependant on the fuel used. Does not mean that the car goes 250 miles on a gallon of gas. Main problem is to determine the amount of joules used to produce the electricity from various fuel sources.

  • Want.

    No more need be said.

  • is that steam or smoke???

  • @lexisalive Normal exhaust, same as out of any other car.

  • @Bertziethegreat I wouldn't call 900 F degree, sooty Kerosene or JP4 exhaust shooting up and out the back of a shrieking turbine " same as out of any other car"

  • @sbd45acp Unless they just used regular gas.

  • @Bertziethegreat 87 octane in a turbine? Don't think that will work...

  • @sbd45acp Turbines will run just about anything that'll burn. Petrol, diesel, kerosene, propane, methanol, ethanol, avgas. It just runs more efficiently on higher octane fuels because it can run at a higher compression, which means a better fuel/air mixture and higher speed.

  • this is actually the factory five gtm car, not even close to a gt40.

  • Gah?! Wah?!
