lol so in schools in korea, punishment isn't like in US. Kids have to do physical exercise for punishment (ie push up position for like 30 mins which hurts like crazy, running around the track and actually running, duck walking, etc). Sometimes they'll get hit on the butt, or hands or legs with a switch or something but not like in the movie.
