  • The Philippine government should force education.

  • Education and poverty are linked. It's complex problem and solutions are still available.

  • its the same thing in other countries standard of education is going down very pronounced in developing countries with high pop growth rates..

Ung huli niyong sentence n who will close it? Kahit po simpleng mamamayan lang tayo, we can help our kababayans kapag pinagsama-sama natin ang mga labis natin... magpopost po ako ng video as reply kung oks lang... :-) Salamat ulit!

  • Just asking for permission to share this video to my report in Curriculum Development subjects.

anyway i like the clips. it's short yet complete.

  • In the US you can only attend vocational courses if you finish grade 10. The sad truth is University grads in the Philippines (which is to my estimate the equivalent of no more than a year in US college) can apply to work in their field to the US if they pass an exam/s . Even sadder they cheated their way to pass because they already have a copy of the exam with approx 90& of the content from a pinoy proktor, That's why pinoy proctors are rich they get bribe a lot. Not fair to US grads at all.

  • Philippine education is no where close to the American system. In Philippines if you pass high school (equivalent to grade 10 or 16 years old in the U.S.) you can go straight to a university & take any course you want (it's that bad & that low & that easy) wheas in the U.S. if you pass high school or grade 12 (18 years old) you can not attend Univ if you're average is not good enough. Checkout PISA & TIMSS for 15 years old or older & Philippines is at or near the bottom.

  • share ko lang po saloobin ko. tingin ko problema d2 sa atin, may panggastos sa edukasyon pero pagkatapos nun wala para pang negosyo. buti pa edukasyon napagiipunan negosyo hindi

  • Well education in the PHILIPPINES is shit.... after highschool, you can go to University straightaway.....

  • @Wilfredoallanshow777 where else would you go after highschool then?

  • further college.. supposedly then uni.

  • hi just want to ask your permission to share this video..great job bdw...

  • are these facts all from NSO?

  • horrible stats...never take education for granted...going to school is not enough...we have to continue educating ourselves even after finishing school...lets help one another by spending some of our spare time teaching young pinoys especially the poor...

  • This was video was presented at my Demography class. The statistics are disheartening. True a lot are literate (can read and write), but what about the QUALITY of education?

Thanks for posting this video. May I know the sources of the statistics?

  • @kathyrollo our president

  • now i know why sometimes less respect among filipino's happens. less good manners and too much arrogance and hypocrisy. children do suffer while adults let bad characters go on-never ending cycle. RESPECT and acceptance for GAY RIGHTS is simply ignore. most see them as jokes and embarrasment. NOT GOOD. time to educate respect.

  • thanks for the shocking stats. Now see my video on Fil economy to see the Scriptural reason why. - Grandnephew to Lucrecia Kasilag, nat'l artist.

  • Thanks for sharing. But here's my problem. The same families have been governing our country for so long, right? And if it's not them, it's some guys we know from TV. In order to change anything in our country, we need to change the direction of politics. But the ordinary pinoy, kahit maganda ang agenda niya, does not have the money to run for office and to make a difference. And the ones who're rich, normally don't make an effort to help the poor reach a higher living standard, right?

  • I would really love to help, but what can one do? Rizal was able to change things, because he had the money to print and distribute books, Aquino got famous, coz he came from a rich politically engaged family. Therefore he could spread his message via TV. But the people from the squatters don't have PCs or internet, so, even if you post stuff here.Your good ideas never reach the ones who need it the most. And that's whats worrying me. Good ideas in our country never reach the simple folk.

  • So, do you care enough to help, or do you just desire the ecstasy of making disparaging remarks, weasel-like in the comfort of your own room/home/local internet café?

    Not so funny anymore, ey?

Balls on your court. Its put up or shut up time.

    Whatcha gonna do?

Speak now or forever hold your peace. (just in case you don't know what that means, it is equivalent to the very warm, "Fuck Off," one of you clowns tenderly threw my way).

  • @pochnikiso allow me to use this clip for my report...i will acknowledge you anyway.

  • If yes, then post it here so that others will have an idea of how they can help.

If not, then get off that fence and do something to help.

But if after reading this, you still choose to make an ass of yourself, then by all mean, knock yourself out so you may be a warning to the youth of today, and a specimen to the ugly data that represents the ugly state of our education system.

  • Any help will be most welcome.

This is imperative because in these trying times, we need serious,s hard-working people, whether they finished HS or not, to help. The problem is too complex for a few to solve. The students, the teachers, the schools will greatly benefit no matter how small our contributions are.

One who pays his taxes religiously is the only one who has the moral right to complain. Have you done anything to help out? If yes, then post it here so that others...

  • same terrible state of our school system I am blasting.

If you cared to read the video description, and if you can read the actual text and not read between the lines making obvious your biases, the video does not in any way claim that people who do not finish HS are assured of doom.

Do yourselves a favor and read the description carefully. If there are words that you do not understand, have a Webster nearby so you may consult it.

  • To the Hecklers and Non-Believers:

I understand your concern, because that's exactly how i felt when i saw the study this video was based on. But you know, i adhere to honest marketing, and i will refuse to sugarcoat the truth just so the world will think we're better.

Thanks for proving my point. I don't mean to insult you or demean you, but it seems, judging from some of your posts, with all of their subject-verb disagreements and grammatical errors, you probably are victims of the...

  • wow ur so proud of this, everybody knows this already at gusto nyo pa ipagmalaki sa ibang bansa...ayus, ang galing....very nice ... keep it up....why dont you try the advantages of the phils over other nations next tym...pessimists!!!!

  • Hi. Can We use your video for a seminar we're doing in class? It's about the state of education in the Philippines and you're video seems like a great intro for it. Thanks.

  • ahm excuse me guys, hahahaha, Filipino are smart even they don't study in a college, why my father is a president of China's corporation? even dou he don't graduate in high school? could you answer me guys???

  • sir, pwede ko po bang isali eto sa education for all presentation namin?

  • Oh I wish there would be more hits in this degrading video of our country, reality thugh, but still degrading. Try uplifting our image a bit, for crying out loud.

  • Relamayo 2:

I understand your concern, because that's exactly how i felt when i saw the study this video was based on. But you know, i adhere to honest marketing, and i will refuse to sugarcoat the truth just so the world will think we're better.

If you bothere to read the description of the video, it's aim is not to demean our students, our public school teachers, but rather our public school system. Rather than rely on government, the private sector has banded together to do something...

  • College graduate required for gasoline pump attendant; BEng cannot calculate simple angles (must be under 25 and have good teeth though!!). PI educational system is a fucking total joke. People waste their money and time here to become slaves to foreign companies - or worse - 'big' families running the PI's back at home. How does it feel to be 'farmed'????

  • hey, do you mind if we put this in our multiply site about the status of rp education? its a school project

  • i'm so glad other pinoys are taking up the call to help our dismal education program. i'm in high school now but i'm really keen on helping everyone in Tagaytay. Thanks for getting those numbers out there!

  • thank you very much!! yap,we're doing tutorial in Math, Science, and English for about two years now. last, last year sa potrero national high school kami. last sy, sa san francisco high school naman. this year baka sa san francisco high school ulit dhl nag-open ng mas maraming class ung principal. maraming salamat po talga..God bless you!

  • No problem. It's good to hear even students like you are taking the initiative. I think that we who have been/are being educated by UP must take it upon ourselves to help out in any way we can.

It's also good to hear that you are prioritizing those 3 subjects. With no intention of demeaning all the other areas of knowledge, English, Math and Science simply are way too important from a pragmatic point of view, whatever career path anyone decides to take.

  • you don't know what is life man, just keep your mouth silent, because in that video,, that is not a fact, even Filipinos don't graduated in highschool, they are succesfull in there life's! Fuck oFF!!

  • Hello! This is a very great clip. I am Kristia, student from UP. Can I copy your clip? I would love to challenge my orgmates to be deeply involved in changing the situation of Philippines. We usually do tutorial to high school students. but only few from my org are helping. So i think your video is very perfect to dare them to move. It has all the elements that I am looking. May I, please...

  • Hi Kristia. Of course you may. I did this video for the Philippine Business for Education using their data. I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't mind. Btw, are your tutorials a program of your org?

  • That's great. Where do you teach in Mindanao? I'm also an educator by profession, but sadly, there aren't too many job openings out there for art teachers...anyway, i worked with the Cagayan de Oro College for 3 years. I wrote and implemented their marketing plan...sure, send me the pictures and tell me what you have in mind. i'll see what i can do.

  • i work in mindanao. in education and the cndition is realy "challenging" i want also to make this kind of presentatinol its powerful..or i can send you teh pictures i hav and then we can work on this one.. thanks

  • well done!!!!

  • Thanks man. This was a fun and worthwhile project to be part of. Makes one feel good that one can actually use whatever skills he has gained to contribute in an attempt to make life better for our younger ones, no matter how small the contribution is. Hope you liked the rest of the videos in this series. Will try to find time to upload the rest asap. And thanks for viewing and sending a short but appreciative reply. Really appreciate it.
