it's true. most of akiba (if you've ever lived in tokyo you'd know that noone calls it akihabara) streets are blocked off by those big concrete posts in the road at the start and end of busy areas. it's true for most of akiba, shibuya (around sky tower) and i heard hachinko started blocking off traffic this summer, but not sure cause i didn't get the chance to visit this summer (i'm broke. haha)

People wear masks when they are sick to prevent giving other people their germs. No because Japan is polluted LOL ^^

actually people wear masks mostly due to allergies. japanese people tend to be prone to hay fever. occasionally during outbreaks like the recent swine flu people will wear masks for germ purposes but that's just hysteria.

TRUE, Akiba is usually DEAD at night. Akiba is usually a daylight city. Common TRUE otakus are home at night, reading their manga, assembling their plamos, watching their anime, playing ERO games, etc. hahaha
