cutest little foal ever i love this breed and it is a perfect weight for how old it is. you dnt see humans giving birth to massive fat babys no there small and fragile just like this little darling
Oh my (insert deity here)!! The mother hates the baby! She's shaking her head like 'stupid! stupid! Why did I get knocked up?' and running away from it! Losing.
That baby is NOT too thin! Look what he came out of - a beautiful grey well cared for mama. The baby is black now but will probably turn grey just like his dam. BEAUTIFUL BABY!
And WHAT THE? Who says there is no "Egyptian" arabian. That's a CROCK! Do some better research! A "straight egyptian arabian" is NOT just any arabian!

I had a EGYPTIAN Arabian horse, she was born a dark bay with white star, turned grey and eventually turned white. About being out at two days old, it needs to be out to run and work it's legs, after all it is a horse! The baby is not too thin, It's perfect
I still have an Egyptian Arabian and nothing wrong from what i see,, mom is at a good weight for nursing, and foal looks great and im sure it will change some colors after shedding its baby coat. BEAUTIFUL FOAL, good confirmation so far and will improve once it learns to use those long legs :)
@vinnypharmacist Arabian horses that are grey nearly always are born black, bay or chestnut....they grey out as they mature. This is the case in most other breeds as well. You rarely see a grey foal...
@alfeshelah There are Egyptian bred arabs, Polish bred, Spanish bred and American....of course they all come from the original foundation stock though from the middle east...but each strain has its own set of characteristics...egyptians are more finely chisled, deeply dished heads and long necks...polish are bigger bone and typically taller and make excellent sport horses and sport horse crosses...Spanish are closer in appearance to the Egyptians.
@sharjah990 because he is a HORSE and he needs to build muscles. You wouldn't be expecting a baby antelope to just hang out laying around on the plains. They were meant to be out and about. If it's not the middle of a snow storm the baby should be allowed to stretch his legs and build up his motor skills.
I can't get over how gorgeous both mom and baby are! I loved after he walked into the post, mom went over as if she was making sure he was alright. I'm finally going to be able to document the lives of 2 babies born a couple days ago at a stable I help out at! It amazes me how fast they grow in just a week!
We've always had one pet or another. As for the horses, my parents only recently (the last 5 years) turned their attention to horses. At one point last year I think they had about 13. Way too much work. With the addition of this one I think they have 6 now, but one of the mares is due in February.
My Grandparents had 1-3 horses until I was about 12. We didn't ride them nearly enough, but we did help clean the pens frequently. :)
I actually had my own "little horse" when I was about 5 or 6. I was famed for not wanting a pony, but a little horse. The one we got turned out to be a bit ill tempered so we didn't keep it long.
Its insane how they come out of the womb and they jus tknow what to do how to walk and everything. Of course it takes a little bit. 2days for a horse maybe 1-2 years for a baby thats crazy

So the mom is white and the kid is black? The baby seems so thin.

@vinnypharmacist
I don't know much about the details, but From what I've heard it's somewhat common for the colors to change over time.

@vinnypharmacist Grey horses start out dark. The only color a grey mare will produce is grey. This horse will be her color by 2-3 yrs old.

there is no "Egyptian" arabian horse there is only the arabian horse and its original is the peninsula.

Kittens are cute but a young foal is so much more than just a bundle of fluff. Those long legs just do the trick.
