andrewm665 - I know, it was a joke! He was a favourite of mine and I really don't think this clip does much for his memory. He was a great blues singer and a nice guy. He was a great friend of Carlo Little, Screaming Lord Such's drummer whose funeral I attended at Harton Crematorium less than a year after LJB had passed away. We were the true rock rebels of the 60's and I'd do it all again if I could.
LJB hittin another grand slam out of the park. And another great video recording by my main man Andy! Keep up the good work because your gonna be recording some music videos here for me sooner than later.
I'm amazed how many Mick Jagger/Rod Stewart/Elton John fans have never heard of John Baldry. He did so much for them. He was truly great. He had been doing some television acting based from Vancouver prior to passing away. Long live Long John!
Saw Long John at cafe campus in 1988 or so, was maybe 25 people there, and in walks this tall skinny guy through the front door dressed from top to bottom in black leather. He walks up to the stage, takes off his black leather fedora, sits on the stool, and plays 2 hours of the best rock n roll one could ever hear. Then he walks out....a true performer.
Hes up in heaven, burning down the cornfields. RIP Long John
