It would be hard to give you a estimate because it all depends on what equipment you choose to run. But you would probably be better off buying the rustler vxl because you'll probably actually save money buying the vxl.

@lmaorc take body off and wd40 all exposed metal parts, (don't forget the gears once in awhile, removing cover is easy). It's totally waterproof so washing in sink/shower is fine. Also they recommend cutting holes in the tires to vent water, don't know how necessary it is though I did it.

@macuttakey yes u have to get a lipo charger as well if u charge it with a regular charger it will mess it up u can get a passport charger for like 70$ its a pretty good charger for the money

@macuttakey just plug in the lipo in batteryplug and choose lipo in the esc menu on the car :D (u need to select lipo in esc menu because of the automatic voltage cutout when the lipo is empty.. or something... i only drive 3s lipo in paralell.... then i can drive to im bored and goes home... buy 4 lipo and a imax b6 from ebay.. cheap and u can drive all day long because the short chargingtime and long lasting batteryes on the car with dual batterys at 11 volt 3s 25c 1100mah

with that much power 4wd becomes a huge advantage. Not you won't slide with 4wd, but you can hold much more speed and even accelerate through it in the curves.

parallel connection= longer run times, but no increase in voltage, and therefore, no speed. Buyer beware: if you buy the brushed version, connecting two batts in series will kill the titan 380 motor if you continuously overheat it. However, I did it anyway and just keep an eye on the motor. I have been running it this way for almost two months and have had no failures, so it can be done on the much less expensive e-revo brushed rtr (189.00 usd at tower)

I love mine! DONT GET 2 NICKEL METAL BATTERIES.... its a waste of time... you can get a lipo 3s 25c battery that makes it go 56 mph with street tires.... and the nickel metal (stock) batteries take 12 hours to charge unless you buy a charger for 70-100$. Which holds one battery... so just get run one lipo battery that fits your car and get a charger for it for 65 bucks. It takes 45 minutes to charge a 1500mAh battery on 2amp. This lil truck screams! way faster than my dog lmfao. enjoy

I am looking for more affordable lipos for my E Revo VXL as well as my Rustler VXL. Can you tell me what kind of plugs come with the Zippy batteries? I am using a Hyperion balance charger and need to know if I will need an adapter for the balance plug. I also would like to know how hard it was to solder the Traxxas plugs onto the wires.

strengthoftenmen, if u get another battery, and the series parallel connector, then u can get about 20-30 mins, of run time, it depends on how u drive it though, long blasts of trottle will shorten the life quicker.

the y-harness will allow for 50+ mph, but not as much run time, it's ur dicision.

any way, you'll have to switch the pinion gear for dual-battery operation, im not entirly sure if u have to do this for more run time, just look in the manual. im also getting this too, soon!!!

@0012554 You don't need to change gears with a parallel connection. Also I wouldn't suggest a pair of 2s lipos on series connection, as that's more voltage than it's rated for. Some have done it, but you void the warranty and I doubt it would take long to fry something.

If you don't want to fry anything I whould suggest using 2X 7.2 v nimh bateries in parallel or even 2X 2s lipos in PARALLEL.

When running them like this, the mah is going to get doubled, not the volts!(you will get longer run times)
