  • can i ask you something? at first i have 1.5GB of RAM in my PC...then i format my PC (i send it to PC shop) after it got format...i see my RAM decrease to 512MB of RAM only...i think he steal my RAM...is that true??

  • @SecretTuner ahahahahaha he stole your ram! But i dont think i've ever seen 1.5 gb before...3 512s?

  • will this improve my FPS in video games?

  • where did u get that ram because i have the same computer can u send me the link

  • @ineptblaster05 you can buy RAM at crucial.com but you have to make sure its compatible

  • i recieved my sodimm today 1st class post, i watched video and followed instructions, i'm delighted to report that all went well, very easy to remove cover and install sodimm, thank you crucial for the information & help. you have one satisfied customer in scotland.

  • just bought a 2gb sodimmand waiting on it to be delivered tomorrow, once the mem chip is installed is there any configuration needed by myself or does the laptop aknowledge and accept chip itself, thanks

  • gave up after the fifth hour of trying

  • Thank you so much. I just order some more Ram For my Dell 8600 and your video gives me the confidence that I will be able to install it myself.

  • Make sure to wear antistatic gloves or ground yourself (by touching any piece of metal) and do not do this on carpet! Static will kill your RAM/computer internal parts. thumbs up so everyone can see :o

  • @overworld12 Thanks that is good to know.

  • @wwwaimiecapricecom disconnect power cord, remove battery, press the power button for 5 seconds to discharge remaining power. Then make sure you use a grounding strap and attach to a proper ground. Check out technomicon com /TechTips/TechTips-4-8-10.html Also, search youtube for 'The shocking Truth', it's a 4 part video on ESD which is quite good.

  • @wwwaimiecapricecom Had to break up the url in order to post.

  • @wwwaimiecapricecom Google memtest86, download the ISO and burn to cd. Then boot off that cd for the memtest. Or if you use vista or win7 goto repair computer and there's a memory test in there. Sometimes manufacturers have self test programs built in. Usually Dells you can select diagnostics from the boot menu option.

  • which parts of the RAM do I not touch?

  • i just installed 8gb of RAM on my hp dv6 laptop. im 100% sure it is 8gb but my computer says it is only 6 gb. does anyone know how to fix this?

  • @Yippykaiyay do you have a 32bit or 64bit operating system ?

  • @jayhillen 64 bit windows 7. i put two kingston 4gb modules in, but it says i have one kingston and one original samsung 2gb module.

  • @Yippykaiyay i think you should re-format the OS..me same as you..can get around 7.8*gb..

  • @xkambing problem is, how do i reformat it?

  • @Yippykaiyay watch?v=JyMWz5UEgoI

  • Just gonna do this so i can play Battlefield 3 on PC !

  • Why would you want to put a live goat in your laptop?

  • will this mess up my memory for my pc or change anything to my pc?

  • @TheBigwhite21 ...It's ram. No, it wont change anything

  • cheers cunts

  • does the new ram stick has to match the other's frequency? and voltage?

  • so this will make it go faster not hold more memory space righ???

  • @BradleyZell Yea it stands for random access memory it will low your computer to multitask faster and run more applications at once with the more ram you have. If you only have 2-4gb of ram i recommend you upgrade to 6gb or 8gb

  • @BradleyZell Yes, it will speed up your computer.

  • will that was a waste $200 when i could do it my self

  • could it be any kind of ram or does it have to be a specific ram for your laptop

  • @ZeSiar depends heavily on type of ram and laptop.

you really hould go on forums with questions like those.

  • 4got to mention- the only thing different was I did it on a Toshiba satellite & the panel didn't just come away; it was sort of locked in though the screws were out.

I didn't was to take a chance of breaking a tab on the flap by just yanking it off, but by pushing the edges toward the center of the panel I heard a click as it "unlocked." did it on each side & the door just came off.

  • Absolutely brilliant! N00b to this on a laptop & this made it a breeze to do. Thx!

  • wow that was so easy to do..... I going to upgrade my Dell :-)

    thank you for the video.

  • i know when i learn a install a memory in my notebook!

  • I love you bro!! & I love youtube!!!!

F**K some home computer repair was goanna charge me to save my stuff on my computer for 100$ because my computer won't turn on. I find it funny & stupid now knowing how easily companies can F**K YOU!!!

  • Just like an imac g4

  • I have a battery, but i dont have a memory bay door. It's all just one big panel that i can unscrew.

  • thanks..

this video helped me big time!

  • I love this video easy and you have the same laptop as me :)

  • i bought some ram from crucail and i put it in then my laptop wouldnt turn on so i removed it and my laptop turned on could some1 message me with an explenation

  • I bought 8 GB of laptop memory from Crucial.

I got two 4GB memory chips.

Each chip came in it's own plastic case.

These chips were suppose to be secure inside the plastic case.

However, one of the chips was flopping around loose inside the plastic case.

I don't think I'll buy Crucial any more.

  • Cool. Easy peasy.

  • R U KIDDING ME THIS LOOKS EASY THINKS FOR THE PC TIP ONE LOVE!

  • where is your anti-static wrist band? you need a anti static wristband wgen working with ram. you dont want to cause ESD

  • just brought 8GB ram of you guys :D gonna install it now ;)

  • @xBiscuitHD how much did it cost

  • @Denominai thats not bad

  • @TheMidasTouch101 it isn't.. but then again, 50$ give or take a few

  • @Denominai ya but for what your getting with it is pretty good. my laptop/notebook only has 1gb

  • @xBiscuitHD How much is an 4gb and an 8gb RAM for laptop?

  • @xBiscuitHD Woah how much was it and where did you buy it from?

  • @skipper107731 You can get memory from Crucial.com and it usually runs from about 20-70 dollars depending on how much you want. You can find your model on their website and do it that way

  • At an earlier point than shown: I had 1 GB in my Pavilion, new. Waited 5 years. Was impatient to have 3 GB (1+2, or so one might think). Bought Crucial's kit (two 1GB sticks) and began to drool -- all that RAM. I removed one HP stick to make room for the _2nd_ of 2 new sticks. I removed one more stick. Oops, no more SPACE! What the hell?

This once-expensive HP has only 2 slots. For what purpose would Crucial sell me 2 sticks thereby permitting me to have a ... 2GB machine? Am NOT happy, Crucial!

  • BOOooooOOOOOOOOring tutorial ever

  • lol i came here thinknig this was going to be nearly impossible for an ameture like me but it turns out to be easy as hell lol, thank god xD

  • Can you have more then 1 at once?

  • @lolmoneyowns "repeat this for the SECOND memory module"

  • Comment removed

  • I've got a memory card for my laptop never used.I'm making an album with recorded songs. If I delete unused programs and all that extra stuff I don't need.I'll have up to 600 mbs.Thats not enough I need at least 300 more mbs.My laptop runs real low on diskspace. Now if I replaced my old memory chip with my new one will that help increase my diskspace to the aprropriate amount needed> If anyones helps it'll be greatly appreciated:)

  • that helps soo much

  • THANKS! ☺

  • What about the second DIMM slot that the black tag, says is on the other side of the board. At 1:25, the black tag says "DIMM B (DIMM A ON TOP SIDE). How do I get to the top side to replace that one.

  • what then you just turn iot on and it's done?

  • im new to this RAM stuff. whats the difference between Crucial RAM and Desktop RAM and also i was thinking about installing ram onto my 1giga ram laptop to a 4 giga ram. If i do would I loose thinks like my program files or things on my desktop?

  • thanks 4 the video.. very helpful

  • that looks easy as heck thank!

  • computers these days why can't easy

  • thumbs up if you looked for the memory bay door on your computer after this!

  • @IGNbroswen i dont have a visible one waaa ill get my dad to put it in then lol

  • ty

  • i have the same comp

  • sounds easy

  • That was crucial.

  • Please reply ASAP.

I'm getting 4 gb ram for my laptop, but it comes in 2 2 gb cards. Since my laptop only has 1 slot how would I install this?

  • @cloneman222 I'm not an expert but I don't think you can install 2 cards into 1 slot. I think your max ram is 2GB.

  • @TheBestIsKevin But I called the company that made my laptop and they said the ram was compatible.. Idk. thanks for ur help anyways

  • @TheBestIsKevin No I think mines got 2 also

  • @cloneman222 LOOL you bought desktop ram thats for desktop... wrong one

  • Hey Thanks...

  • I have 2 old laptops, both have about 1gb ram, can these be used in any way to make my new laptop faster? I know that sounds like a dumb question, but I've heard it's possible.

  • So will all my old memory get deleted like games and stuff??

  • @MmafiaBanger He changed the RAM, not the harddrive.

  • my church has about 4 of these dell notebooks

  • thanks a lot hope it will work with acer o.o

  • So i take out to the original to put in the new one?

  • Did Crucial Memory sell in Malaysia?

  • What kind of Philips Head is being used? I have a Sony Vaio Notebook, Model VGN-FJ170 and I want to upgrade the RAM to a 2GB instead of a 512MB. Can anyone help

  • He just ruined both cards by not grounding himself! wtf

  • @TheFunnyMonkeyBoy Put as much RAM as you like.

  • @TheFunnyMonkeyBoy What bit is your OS?

  • is that a dell latitude d630? @crucialmemory

  • I have 192MB of RAM. Which amount of RAM should I upgrade to?

  • @doubleballer1 192? man that's old, depending on your OS, if your OS is 32 bit then you can only use 4gb, but if it's 64 bit then you can use any amount. i would recommend 2gbs or 4gbs. But remember it's the prossesor that makes your computer fast as well as how fast are the buses moving

  • @SergeantNugget i upgraded it..I'm using it right now!!! It's fast and good as new. (Except used a couple times) haha

  • @doubleballer1 lold

  • @ryanbryceee no installing a new RAM will only speed up your laptop, replacing the harddrive will delete your files

  • I was gonna pay someone $100 to do that?

  • @taytaydude Wow i would have upgraded your prossesor with that money and overclocked it.

  • will removing the old one delete all the files i have on my laptop?

  • I did this when my old laptop was turned on.. woops.. anyways the screen went crazy..

  • I installed 2x2gb of ram onto my laptop, but it still only says I have 2 gb total. But i should have 4. How do i get it to recognize? everything is secured and i have restarted. and all chips are the correct needed chips.

  • @AnEpidemicAtHand take it out and put it back in bud :)

  • is that it? will the new RAM module be used without configuration or changing settings on the actual laptop? I have a spare slot and was wanting to add RAM to my laptop, so is it as simple as just adding a new RAM module to the slot and then turning it on?

  • Please help guys?

Iam in desperate need to install pro tools on my laptop but I only have 1gb of ram & it requires 2gb of ram, I was worried I had to buy a whole new laptop(I only bought this 6 months ago)...

Is it possible for me to buy a new ram, like a 2GB ram & use my current laptop instead?

Any advice would be so much appreciated... :0)

  • @DavinaFaerie Check to see if there is another Unscreweble piece on the bottem there may be 2 ram slots.

  • @DavinaFaerie if you only bought it 6 months ago then you should definitely be able to install more ram, go to crucial.com, and tell the website what computer you have and they will tell you what ram you need, its the cheapest and most effective way of upgrading and speeding up any computer

  • Lol... those are the laptops we use at school. There so crappy.

  • hahahahahaahha. I came here expecting to see something for a similar laptop, and it literally is my SAME laptop. small world

  • I HAVE A SAME LAPTOP AS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Will it work for Toshiba Satellite C650 models? And also, will I have to insert the old RAM card in to get my older things? (Games, photos, ect.)

  • all you have to do is 1 simple thing open up the ram slot in the back u dont have to remove the battery just turn off the laptop stupid

  • Does anyone recognize or know the brand of screwdriver the tech is using?

  • i got same computer

  • Do you loose anything like application by changing the memory card?

  • @DrPain108 no

  • Did anyone else notice that he didn't install Crucial RAM into that laptop?

  • Did anyone else notice that he didn't install Crucial RAM into that laptop?

  • is it just me or does he sound like nicholas cage?

  • @ImBadAtPhotoshop Sounds nothing like Nicolas Cage..

  • i have the same laptop lol

  • Would it be the same way on an acer notebook

  • @jmiguel305 yh i think so. it worked on me.

  • is there a way WITHOUT buying anything?

  • @97kevinhuanle there is no way upgrading your memory without buying anything(more memory is a hardware thingy). but if you want a faster pc you could cleanup your pc of useless programms to make it run faster.

  • NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont buy ram from there sight they are bad type buy ram from your local shop

  • i think im gonna buy 2 GB ram form your site

  • Omfg thanks man now i know how much ram can get in my laptop omg my laptop can become the best gaming laptop ever!!!!!!!!!

  • You said NOTHING about taking safety to the module. Not anti-static gloves or notin.

  • are crucial products compatible with hp laptops?? i'm thinking of buying a '8GB RAM' from crucial for 'HP Pavilion DV4'

  • @ilovetodayy Crucial's main site has a program you can install to figure out what type of RAM you need. You can either buy it from them or search for cheaper brands elsewhere. Keep note that there are sellers out there which sell high density ram which looks exactly the same, but do not work on normal computers. Only server computers. You want LOW density random access memory

  • thanks very much for sharing GOD BLESS YOU ZEE ATTOCK

  • How many RAM card slots are there usualy in a notebook computer?

  • @theoneusawyesterday it varies from laptop to laptop, but usually 1 or 2.

  • @TheTruthTTT Ah, kay. Thanks :)

  • I was looking for a video to help explain to a friend how to do this and watched a few. Yours was the best. Nicely done.

  • Micron in Mananas VA?

  • Will upgrading from 3gb of ram to 6gb be worth it? I think I only have two memory slots though so is it even possible. And i'm also running a 32-bit processor with an AMD turion X2 dual-core mobile rm-74 that clocks at 2.20ghz so is the processor compatible with more then 4gb of ram or will I have to upgrade my operating system too? I'm also going to upgrade my processor too.

  • @ElitexSn1perx 32-bit systems only utilize 3.5ish GB of RAM. If you upgrade to 64-bit, u can utilize a lot more. It's over 1tb of RAM that can be utilized or something

  • @TheTruthTTT

yes with a 32 bit system the maximum ram you can have is 4GB but you can have on average 16TB of ram with a 64bit system

  • @Parts44 TB of RAM? LOL

  • @JordanWells15 yes...its quite ridiculous isnt it....

  • @Parts44 good luck buying that, unless you have a super computer laptop and a ton of money for somebody to invent it to even get in to a laptop :/

  • @JordanWells15 yeh im not saying what people will be using, im saying what 64 bit is capable of using.

  • damn this seems easy!

  • @TehMaster4life It really is. I was a little hesitant to do it myself, but after a friend at work did mine for me, I upgraded the RAM in my wife's laptop. Quite easy.

  • "RANDERSON-LAP" What does that mean?

  • lol when the battery has been removed? why such a stupid tip

  • @TomJackson986 It has to be removed so that the motherboard resets its self when upgrading ram. Also a good tip to not short circuit any components when touching laptop hardwares

  • @TheRandomBrian see, I am bad with computer hardware, im getting better though. thanks for clarification it seemed pointless

  • @TomJackson986 Your welcome :)

I am a computer technician so i work with them. Plus having the battery has power in it. If you accidentally turn the pc on and touch a component, you get zapped with a minor shock or short circuit your laptop/pc

  • Is 2.8gb of ram alot for a laptop? I currently have about 800mb and my laptop doesnt run games well. If I buy 2gb of ram will it improve performance drastically?

  • HE IS ON ANTISTATIC SURFACE DER

  • can i install any memory like : Sony, Dell, Acer, on my " Toshiba Satellite " ?

  • u forgot to say about grounding urself

  • i already have 2 gigs of ram but i want 2 more so how would i do that

  • @8ballmoe it depend on how much ur computer can handle usaly it shoul ask like the manufacture to se how much memory youre computer can handle ok man

  • does this count for ALL laptops exept small ones?

    ,,

  • is removing the battery crucial for installing or is it just

for safety measures to avoid electrocution or something?

  • How do I ground myself?

  • @chiffmonkey Touching a metal like a doornob a few touches would do it.

  • Thanks. U saved me 40 bucks

  • I bought 8 GB from Pro Memory Upgrade.

    Part No.: S51264PC2640062Rx8B

  • Thanks, this was very helpfull

  • my idiot friend told you cant add ram to lap tops what a retard good video thx!!

  • yeah crucial is professional i ordered my first memory ram from them and it took 1 day to ship and 2 days to come to my house UPS

  • What about static? That could fry it!

  • @JleonK just touch something medal before you touch the computer... i replaced my hard drive and i had no problem at all... :)

  • Wow this is alot easier than i was expecting

  • what about grounding yourself and touching something metal
