  • I almost cried when I saw the whole creation scene. It was just so wonderful and the music was perfect.

  • Bill Nighy's Slartibartfast is the best thing about this film! :D x

  • Was slartibartfast's high-speed vehicle too high-budeat? So they just made a teleporter-thing, and a weird crate??

    MOvie sucks..

  • Hate this movie, so it's been a while since I watched it, but I forgot how absolutely perfectly this scene was done. A true diamond in some very bad rough.

  • This movie is extremely underrated and I think it was fantastic job with a lot of it. Making a movie out of these books is very very hard.

  • MARVIN!!!

  • Bill Nighy can do no wrong,Brilliant actor! and effortlessly cool as well

  • Anyone else notice Douglas Adams head as a planet?

If you didnt, look in the background from 4:07

Best seen on the shot from far left to right at 4:15 ish

  • I love Nighy!! :D

And I'm from Norway, mehe :D

  • gehry sucks..my favourite architect....slartibartfast..

  • I don't know, perhaps I'm old and tired, but I always think that the chances of finding out what's really going on are so absurdly remote that the only thing to do is say hang the sense of it and keep yourself busy. I'd much rather be happy than right any day.

A great philosophy to get you through this crazy world!

  • LOL Arthur's face when Slartibartfast tells him his name xD

  • oh my god, how i cracked up in the middle of class at this part in the book. I still laugh at that name

  • Bill Nighy is a brilliant actor! He can play any character and he'll be great in the role.

RIP Douglas Adams-wonderful writer, however did he come up with Hitchhiker's guide?

  • this is my favourite scene in the movie (tied, of course, with the unfortunate sperm whale) the graphics, and especially the acting, are amazing. Nighy's Slartibartfast was great, and of course Martin Freeman at his bewildered/overwhelmed best :)

  • slartifast was scrimguour in harry potter :D

  • Douglas Adam's books are leaps and bounds more intelligent, intricate and deeper on so many levels of thought, far beyond the movie can ever express buy far! Though I was happy for the recognition of him in the making of the film. I even read The Hitchhikers Guide likely more times than I realize in order to finish the text adventure game of the same on my C64. Brilliant mind, I like his thought process. Especially the Whale.

  • Thats just perfectly normal paranoia.

  • i've always wondered whose version of the purpose of life was better: Douglas Adams' or Kilgore Trout's. is it better for the ultimate question to be what do you get if you multiply 6x9, or be the by-product of a giant cockroaches shit. opinions?

  • The graphics were great

  • ah, no, well, yes, m-mm no...

  • All I want is for the series to be continued in movie form.

  • At 4:14, you can see Douglas Adams' face on a planet, in the background on the left.

  • That's not a planet, mate. That's the sculpture "Arthur Dent Throwing the Nutrimatic Cup". It's 15 miles high and it resides on the planet of Brontitall. (See or hear the 10th episode of the original radio series for the explanation.)

  • douglas adams is a genus... his books are the greatest

  • there up there w/ 20000 leagues and such

i even have a genuine leather bound copy and its considered a classic!!

but i think its MUCH better tan a classic

  • Panthera is a genus... tigers are the greatest

  • yes I know the radio show came first, but I never heard it. But I have read the books so that's why I say they're good.

  • Arth-Arthur, Arthur Dent.

  • the magrathea scene is the best CGI scene ever made

  • "N-no, my name is not important!" Say what you will about the film, but Bill Nighy nailed ol' Slartibartfast.

  • Love that name. ;)

  • Absolute class. Great books and great movie.

  • Slartibartfast is the greatest!

  • haha I love that part. Especially when Slartibartfast goes; "Er, no. hahahha"

    Bill Nighy's just brilliant :)

  • "Slartibartfast" I almost bursted out laughing when I read that in the book.

  • just brilliant :)

  • Thanx 4 postin this - good part of the movie x
