  • this is the most important video i have ever seen. thanks jd for being a real g about this shit.

  • Real shitt!!, sample as said....

  • As a producer that is still grinding I've made connections with some of the industries top individuals through twitter, facebook, and what not. Which has landed me my major placements. It seems as this digital age has made it easier for folks to do business. I can be in new york working with The Federation in The bay area via email. Remember music execs. are just people too, sometimes they aren't nice people! haha just keep grinding! If your hot you will be found hands down.

    @iamsouljahkeyz

  • ©CHOCOLATEDADDY225 IS THE HOTTEST NIGGA THATS STRAIGHT COMEDY. I WAS ON THE CORNER DANCING HOLDING A PIZZA SIGN AND LUDACRIS START RECORDING ME IN HIS IPHONE LAST YEAR IN CALABASAS.HE HAD A BLACK ESCALADE WITH PEANUT BUTTER INSIDE. WATCH MY SIGN DANCING VIDEO AND TELL LUDA I SAID COME GET YO PIZZA NIGGA LOL I WATCH ROACHES HAVE SEX ON FOOD

  • Continue from below -> Every demo you get won't be Anthony Hamilton or Phat Phat, but should it be a unwritten that a msn or woman who has made music their life; accept and find the seconds in a day to listen to those creations; garbage or not? Never know when you'll sumthing. My main focus is to make ur hEaD bObiN... If I do that; my goal is accomplished. I just want to give #mythots

  • Get HOTT and you'll be found, well JD, to a certain degree; I can respect and accept that. But you being a VERY busy business man, you will not always be able to see that new up & coming hott individual. Are you saying as inspired artists or musicians, are you saying trying to get demo music to music execs & moguls like yourself should NOT be an avenue tried?

  • JD I'm feeling what you said about discovery, but who is actually doing the discovering? Seems like they not making exec like they use too....

  • Good Stuff!

  • sean kingston "spammd" the hell out of dj khalid back on myspace .. soo yall cant say they cant notice you by posting there link... fuck outta here.. ima keep spammin then. that shits corny

  • "its like swag, spam!" xD

  • i like eggs and mayo with my spam...on lightly toasted wheat. with being said, are ppl listenen to and for what they actually like or do they just go where the bandwagons are driving them??? If I do spam ( i have) its cause i think u might like it and you might not find me in the millions of videos uploaded everyday. I barely care to be signed anymore...and if you do like it, i want it to be cuz YOU do and not cuz sumbody told u to. #teknaleji Hit my channel !!! ALL FONK LOL

  • The internet is "in addition to", NOT "instead of" ! Street promo, club promo, college promo, & PEOPLE promo, has ALWAYS been and ALWAYS will b the leading source of getting ur music hot and getting the attention of the people who can help u. 2days artist have became lazy n started 2 consider sitting at a computer spaming links all day "GRINDING". IDENTIFY UR AUDIENCE, TURN OFF THE COMPUTER, GET UP OFF UR ASS, AND GO TO THE PEOPLE! Use the internet, IN ADDITION TO the traditional methods.

  • YOU ARE A REAL G..

  • I really enjoyed this 'talk to me'.

it should open our eyes to artist who're trying to promote themselves !

  • Yo JD real talk you keep it a hundred and that is well appreciated!

  • I'm trying to intern for J.D. I'm a independent writer, director, and actor. G'Media Productions. We shoot films, videos, & commercials the trailer to my latest film; type in The Therpaist Trailer 2011 let me know what y'all think

    Geno

  • I know what its like to push songs all day. Spam is apart of the grind. Get used to it.

  • Great video...up and coming artist can learn a lot.

  • im in Singapore female rapper/beat maker/DJ, getting hot n to be discovered by u guys is so hard. specially when ur in a country where they DON'T support local talent..n to be competing in a male dominate hip hop world is not easy too .. I personally dont spam .. but i do post my stuff here on youtube and refer them to my site where all my stuff is, but to market the channel here is also nt easy unless you gt the cash to market it n to make it big but sad most of us dunt have the money to do so

  • JD much respect! But i wanna ask, why do u guys just look only on your side of the world ? im saying that there are loads of people in asia really want to get discovered and go global.

As for spam i dont do that cuz i got my own channel ova here n do a referral link to my site. Im just sayin you gotta look in asia u will be surprise on what u will discover.

  • Everybody's in a rush. They don't understand the business, but think that they do. Everything is going old school. Ground work. You need a fan base or an inside connect.

  • We're in an era where you don't NEED a label to record and release music directly to the consumer. It's a known fact, when you're buzzing, labels will come to you. Especially in this age when labels are looking at what you can do on your own.

As artists, we have to understand our careers lies in our hands. We are responsible for booking our own shows, making connections, and so forth. Get up and get hot. So when you are hot you have leverage to negotiate with a label.

  • Jd I need some of those so so def stickers!

  • I can't speak for everyone. But Personally, I post links not to get signed. I post links because I figure 10% of the people that see it will click it, Which generally remains true. Build Awareness much in the same way that a commercial on TV does. It's Marketing & Advertising for me. I don't expect EVERYBODY to listen. Just like a Commercial on TV, only about 10% of people actually watch a commercial. Same with music Links. If u see it enough you'll look into the product.

  • I'm an artist so this info was really helpful, I do post lots of links but I try not to overdo it! But it's always inspiring and educational to hear what other people think about things like this!!!

  • I agree with you JD . The music spamming is out of control . I am going to be honest , the music that a lot of artist spam me with is NOT good . I would NOT buy the record . It is literally 1% that spams me with good music . A lot of the underground artist that I like ... I found through the Pump It or Dump It group , someone told me about them , G Jamz , &/or Twitter . For example Sha Sha Jones , Q Da Kid , Doe The Paper Boy , A Me & You Thing , and Jinx . The spamming has to stop . Be creative

  • I do not know when it is going to take for cats to understand that if you have something people want. Others will share it will they're friends. Then the friends share etc.. You do not have to spam if its something people want to hear. Share your stuff with people who want to hear it and want to share with others

  • Why don't you guys invest in your music a little more. Invest in promo. Get a manager that can solicit your music to these labels and program directors at radio stations. Instead posting your link a million times to a bunch of other artists who don't give a damn about your music because they're tryna come up too.

  • i guess what we need is :.... LUCK... we are in a lifetime that its all about... luck and knowing somebody who knows somebody.... That F's me up

  • Spam is when you get shit in your inbox you didnt ask for! Regardless what its content is!

  • Awesome blog. Whatever happend to the days when 'artist' were willing to do the work? I remember going to showcases, live performances at community events, local television showcases. Artists were on their grind. Now a days, everyone wants to pass a weblink or mail a CD to the 'right person' to be instantly famous and recorded. Internet did kill the radio which killed dedicated artistic talent development.

  • Really, to be honest, none of this even matters. At the end of the day, all everybody wants is some peace of mind and a satisfied stomach. Do what you love and love what you do. All that we have is of the Universe, anyway. No one owns any of it. We are all lessees. Peace!

  • JD IS AWESOMW!!! AND HI EVERYBODY CHECK OUT MY CHANNLE I DO COVERS AND ORGINAL SONGS SO SUBSCRIBE COMMENT LIKE THEM SO COME JUST DO IT ALL READY :)

  • JD I respect your knowledge & your success! Thank U 4 keepin it real wit us U Dig! LonnieMack

  • i also believe in this day and age,..go to the record exctuive and pitchh ur talent...wit the intertnet there are too any people tryna get hot. sometimes u need to stick ur talent under an exctive nose to get noticed

  • if u wanna get hard work on ur performances skills and do SHOWS SHOWS SHOWS SHOWS AND MORE SHOWS SIMPLE. learn how to perform if u wanna get heard. Perforing is how you sell music...an average song can seem amamazing if u perform it well trust me

  • *jd u got to be the Best!... Imean i do Gospel Music'' & there are really not as many outlets out there for Gospel'' But i stop posting Vids to Fb& twitter cause i realize that theres no 1 in my friend list or followers that can sign me... LMBO! i mean so really i want say its a watse of time, But its like a dead end... if i post its just to let people hear something New...Thats why i just ask god to lead me & guide me in the right direction'' God said my gift will make room for me'' **

  • JD, Don't forget about the indie executives like myself who don't mind doing some leg work ourselves. Fighting for those TALENTED artists who don't have access to the certain things they'll need to create a buzz. I've been behind the scenes since '91 and still making things happen for people whether I'm on their management team or managing them or not. I am the type of person who just does not like to see good talent go to waste. Right now I am looking for songwriters who also sing and produce.

  • JD i feel you man, that how myspace went down to me, to many artist flooding the wall talking about check me out, and they going to sit there and post that link about a million times. I'm a DJ and i got sick and tried of looking at that same damn post every damn day. Then I moved to facebook and i was cool until facebook started poppin. The internet made artist lazy, back in the days you use to see artist on the corner selling their cd or giving them away just to get a buzz.

  • I don't want them to send me the shit. If I want to check out their music I'll go to the groups for that. A lot of the stuff ain't that great so to be getting a bunch of stuff that ain't great who wants that bs all the time, no one.

  • Torchclub is still the best on Global14!!!! Mixtape is soo hard!

  • Thanks JD for the post........ Continue to keep it REAL..........@sofreshMarcus i understand the pain daily when i turn on the radio............

  • gotta love jd for this one!!1 and another thing is nowadays its a money thing. i got bills and a mortgage i cant be payin to perform or for internet marketing or paying for dvd interviews. my budget is maxed out after i buy beats. i think we as unsigns should network and create an outlet for ourselves and cross promote and collab generate a movement but it will always be a money thing and politics! i just rap for the love!!!!! but i fux wit JD cuz he keeps it real!!!!

  • internet crippled the music industry! thats why before the internet 10 artists were droppin every year. now since souljaboy, you have to have a buzz to get a deal. i thought the a&r's job was to find the talent and "develop" artists. now you have to be industry ready and sorry but how else are these rappers gonna get industry ready unless they follow someone else's formula thats already established. thats why all the music is the same. but yeah check out my channel, i got some of the same sound

  • Every Artist & Producer needs to watch this!

  • As an artist, i think MOST underground artists spend more time trying to get in the face of the DJ's, executives, A&Rs, media outlets, and other artists instead of trying to create a general fan base of STRICTLY fans. I'm constantly hit up with links as if IM the one that will have a say so in their career. You can't make yourself hot by marketing to your competition!

    -KT

  • JD, are you ready to make movies yet.. I got stories man... Good stuff, beyond the hoodstuff too!

  • you one of a kind for this big broh

  • OK JD I understand what u sayin', But what about if u dont live in atl.? u live in a place like Balimore wea niggaz aint trinna help u or u necessarily have the connect to get performances??

  • Its sad but, people are being rewarded for hustling their music hard but have no talent, but people respect the hustle, and overlook their talent and somehow through the mist of it all they are successful as an artist.

  • This is true, but alot of venues dont give as many opportunities as they used to... its rare to find some one who will let you know about open mics or let you perform at a concert with out taxin.. they all want money... Like all im asking for is a number not a service..

  • that's real talk I do videos, make hella music, drop mixtapes regularly try to put the internet on smash but ain't nothin like gettin in the streets and gettin real ppl talkin that's the way to do it, and thats what i have to do more of i make conscious music but i'm workin more on hard songs just so next project i drop i'll be prepared and have the ammunition to smash a stage, if i was in another area i could spit my normal stuff and kill but i'm from louisiana so thats not gonna fly

  • JD is right u see it all the time on Global14.com JD said several times don't send videos an track to him put it on "pump it or dump it " one of your best original tracks ...1 only an folk double posting their songs on other folks shit...let's tighten up folks.

  • True...

  • It's very nice of you to do this. Great advice

  • Internet CHANGED the music industry it did not destroy it or tarnish it Maybe the executive A&R's need to embrace the internet a little bit more to find new talent since talent IS on the web I'm not on that caliber yet but one would think it would be a lot easier just to click a button listen to someones music and evaluate if they have a unique sound. Now open mic or talent shows do help but on a smaller scale. The net allows artists to spread their music anywhere in the world. THIS IS A MARKET

  • Spamming is the new way of showing your hungry to an artist or music executive by posting your music repeatedly over and over. That is my definition of what spamming is. I for one dont even think about doing that because it would only ruin my chances of being notice in the first place. Yes I am a songwriter so that means I have a product to give as well but I know some people can be ignorant about the situation. By the way I am not only noticed by God but chosen as well and so are you! #URALIVE

  • Excellent post JD. I'm not in the industry but I know there really is NO set and pre defined way to break into the business. This is a good reality check for a lot of hopefuls!

  • JD I love that fam these young artist need to hear the real deal 4 real. "GET HOT"

  • Thanx for this .. Great advice

  • real talk

  • In response to this video, great post, great points. Music is over saturated and a lot a corny stuff is becoming hot just due to the fact that it is constantly getting pounding/drilled into peoples head for 12 months straight. The way music got out before was through shows and the artist building themselves into a brand on their own. Just like a female; they want the semi finish project, not a full blown project! Think about that!!

  • Just because he is saying "JD" or "JM" on every record..doesn't mean he is broke, sounds like a spammer got his feelings hurt!

  • Real talk JD, thanks

  • Anyone who is saying JD fell off, you really sound stupid, some of you said the same about Jay-z when he started wearing suits, you guys think making music is the only way to stay in the game? It's more than that.

  • Getting hot takes work. Know who's hot in your city, and come to them with something to offer them. Give then ye shall receive.

  • All you rappers and singers your post or songs on the internet is not going to get you fans or a exec. take it from a comedian/music buyer. I only go online to look for people music after I see them perform LIVE. Let the people see you live forget yo posting!

  • For the record I'm D-Mac and I do not spam, I said i dont feel comfortable posting a link anymore because its useless and will most likely be overlooked due to so much people doin it. I post for my fans and potential fans, not in hopes of an exec to see. They dont want to know who you are until others do.I dont believe in overposting, but i understand why some do. Shoutsout to the #MacMob #TeamDondria #Lifers #GForce & #TeamPhatmac. And 1 time for Jd. Congrats on the new deal. 100

  • @dmac31live They dont want to know who you are until others do.......(so true...sad fact of human nature)

  • The reason why rappers say this about the internet is because they don't know what they are doing on the internet. Wendy Day of Rap Coalition says this all the time. It's plenty of stuff written on how to build a twitter following, Youtube following, and etc. You build an audience. Once you have an audience opportunities will come your way. If you're going to spam somebody, then tell your audience to do it. Mike Kalombo didn't spam JD. He sent his audience to do it. That's a big difference.

  • J.D. I friend of mine just opened up for your boy Anthony Hamilton, named Lovely.

  • Thanks, JD. You're right.

  • spam is REALLY UN WANTED MAIL OR MSG THAT U DONT WANT

  • I feel everyone & what JD is saying, but in a digital age where ppl even the industry is trying 2 figure out how 2 capitolize, The internet is what you have 2 use in order 2 do so. What everyone is calling spam you call grinding in any form, JD is so right about finding a way 2 get hot. But when you grind on so many levels & keep trying you turn 2 one of the tools tht makes it more easy & gets 2 a mass amount of people across the world. If ppl feel you then they do, if they don't then they don't

  • random:does anyone know how j cole got discovered??

  • rappers always say they are hustling but just like you said..talent shows word of mouth selling shit out the trunk.thats hustling and thats everything that they arent doing because alot of them dont have enough hot music all they have is a song or 2 worth hearing

  • Comment removed

  • Real words

  • This is deep! Grinding is grinding I guess but I feel some type of way about uploading links because of how people may take it or they may look at it as spam.

  • You have very good words of advice and I appreciate that, the only question I have is how would a Producer get his music/beats heard outside of places like soundclick and soundcloud? As of lately this seems like the best way to get heard. I understand artist performing at different places to get their rep up, but as far as producers its a lil different and I just wanted some clarity.

  • @Dragoon3112 I agree with you. Living in Salt Lake City, Utah its pretty damn hard. I feel like in order for a producer do get his music out(or even songwriters in this case) is to find people to work with locally at first. If you really are that good, i'm sure by word of mouth they will be like "Yo you should mess with this dude right here cuz he knows what he doing". And start spreading the word. Build up your fanbase locally and then eventually ppl will notice u but this is just my thought.

  • I'm not spaming anymore!!

  • I don't trip off the music in the inbox i'm always looking for new artist. so keep blasting my inbox on global 14 ppl, Im listen!!!!!!

The G14 background is dope. @raw387 or DJ RAW A.K.A. THE NEXT JD on (Global14.com)

    @raw738 on twitter.

  • TOOO MANY RAPPERS NOT ENOUGH LISTENERS!!

  • Real Talk JD

  • this is so true. the internet isnt really the place to get famous. theres SO many people that post videos and audios of themselves all over the internet, and most of em arent the best. the truly talented people go and perform LIVE. i think thats truly the better way, like you said. you have to go out and do ur thing and if someone sees your talent, then thats whats supposed to happen. so many ppl chase after producers and artists, its insane. internet has pretty much taken over the music game

  • @pitagirl27 I wouldn't say the internet isn't the place to get famous because there have been people who have gotten famous through the internet but I do agree it shouldn't be the only place to try and get people to listen to your music.

  • no im the truth button faggot, chill wit all that get off his dick ish! thats exactly what i mean you tell the truth about someone and there accomplishments and insecure low standard individuals cant take it,

  • thats real talk

  • It is what it is!! That's why i love listening and watching you.

  • True words...i think selfconfidence and quality will find its way through to success without pushing it that hard...if it's good people that like it will make it viral on their own

  • yo, its so true!!! I've posted one song in one of my groups on Global14 and it seems like it just gets swallowed up.. cuz people always be postin like ten of their tracks like they're gonna get discovered tomorrow or somthin. lol

  • The Industry Is way to HollyWood Now I Bet If I Personally Seen U J.D and Gave You A Cd U Wouldnt Even Take It Cuz you "HOLLYWOOD" Niggas Assistants Got Assistants SMH it never was like this back in the day if i had the money to put myself out i would Fuck A Label

  • Yo This is a great Video, confirming what artist already know that they should be doing!! GRIND!!!! Shout out to JD for that info!

  • its not so many coming out..cuz its tooo man CLOWNS, hard to see who the real talent is!

  • "...named Waka Flocka" <---- LMAO!!

  • Loved the vid and you are so right! Just diving in to the music biz again after 20 years. Shit ain't easy!! But aint nothing to it but to shut up and do it.

  • I love when JD does videos like this because he always drops a lot of knowledge.I'm a aspiring producer and even I get tired of ppl spamming my inbox on twitter and youtube talking about listen to my music but when I do actually listen to it,it either sucks or sounds just like something a thousand other ppl are doing.A lot of these rappers and producers nowadays are just trying to do what's hot instead of being original. If you make good music, eventually someone will notice you.

  • lol...its like swag...spam! xD hhaaahaaa

  • JD PLEASEEEEE DO A SONGWRITING CONTEST...I'm a songwriter and i'm the shit at that can you do something strictly for the songwriters give us a beat and tell us to write to it

  • GET HOT ARTIST on your OWN!! stop trying to get JD to notice you, he is ONLY 1 PERSON! if you are constantly looking for somebody else to get you HOT you will never last in this business

  • @FeelDucMusic get off his dick lmao what r u his repeat button?

  • first of all JD is a HIP HOP legend! and PIONEER, he wrote, produced and owns the publishing to some of the biggest HIP HOP and R&B songs that we know now, so until you accomplish what he has accomplished you have to right to talk down or say that he has fell off! you have no idea how much work he puts in! i dont know whats up wit niggas now, so quick to bash somebody,

  • YOOO ,thanks for this video , because I'm one of the people who notice how hard it is to get somebody to listen to my music on my Youtube page. My question to you though , is what can I do if my particular state doesn't have places to perform . Would it be better to move out rather then posting on sites ?

  • WATCHING DIS VIDEO GOT ME READY N EVEN MORE N HIGH GEAR LIKE DO SHOWS EVEN IF I GOTTA PAY 2 HIT DAT STAGE IMMA GET IT BACK N DA LONG RUN SO JUS WATCH OUT LIL JESSIE WILL B IN YA EAR SOON GARY INDIANA INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA STAND UP

  • GOOD TALK

  • real talk

  • JD I tweeted you twice asking for Tyrone but you have failed to reply. Maybe I missed the memo on where Tyrone is but if another Lifer knows can you please tell me just concerned because I miss seeing him in the videos

  • Comment removed

  • went from a fuckin crazy producer bro u fell off so hard JD bow wow left u and went 2 Cash Money and now all u do is fuckin DJ shows and run some gay ass site that cud never compete with twitter and ur up there will the best producers ever man ur lucky u saved ur money cuz u aint gettin shit nymore

  • @rozay604 at least hes still doing something. he still have the power to make someone famous! and when Torchclub or whomever makes that jump, he can say it started from his website! GET THE PICTURE!

  • @rozay604 he still got Da Brat

  • What is the meaning of the Global 14? I know what it does but I don't know why the this name?

  • Yo J, so as a beat maker is hard to find somebody that's hot or somebody that willing to put in the long hours to make hot music. I work got kids and make beats all night long like a lot of beat makers. But it seem like a lot of rappers are not on the grind anymore. I tired of wasting with these wack ass rappers.

  • @cadillac180 now I (Eskimo) from Torchclub would come to you right now and say! hey what beat do you want me to listen to and ill check it out right now! and see if my lyrics and metaphors are up to your standards. Listen to Eskimo Get Ready on my youtube page and i feel nobody is spitting twisted indepth metaphors like me!...Lets see where this leads us!

  • Thats why Youtube has the like and dislike button...if you spam some trash you run the risk of getting a bunch of thumbs down and nobody wants that! People are sensitive about their music.

  • I thought artist used to do a fly demo and shop it, do shows and grind. now it's the era of the mixtape everybody and they mamma got a mixtape but only a few are fire. iI don't mind getting a link or two, I like listening to new music but once u send one particular song don't keep sending the same song over and over. I'm just a consumer I can pass the word that u hot but I can't get u signed. (wall of text sorry :)

  • I agree with DMac. Im sorry JD, but that is kind of the reason why I dont sign onto my G14 account anymore. At first it was fun because there was conversation but then it got to a point where literally I would scroll down and it's nothing but videos. Most of the time it was the same exact video posted about 8 times before I saw saw something different. I dont want to see that all the time and this coming from someone who wants to work in the music industry.

  • @LovelyAprilBaby Like I know we are in the internet era but its like damn, how about you get our there and perform your songs instead of posting links. Then the music that half of the people are posting is garbage. So that makes me not want to check any links out.

  • REAL ISH!!!!!!!

  • good info !

  • @TheEllebejaysay then the site just wasnt for you then! its all about networking and actually clicking one of those links.. you might have been surprised! There is lots of undiscovered talent. Torchclub

  • You have to make yourself...don't wait to get signed by someone...sign yourself!

  • @sprstarproducer exactly! we have people in Stl wanting to sign us now but not happening! we are not about to get screwed!

  • @Torchclubswag I hear that! I see a ton of contracts that people want me to look at and the company is trying to screw them.

  • @sprstarproducer I just checked out your page! and subscribed! you spit that real shit! big ups to you! we are two totally different artist tho...i come with punchlines and metaphors!! Eskimo - Torchclub

  • @Torchclubswag I checked you out PAUSE...Illinois Swag! Keep it up!

  • @sprstarproducer thanx you too! See you at the TOP! your a lil ahead of us right now, with the vids and shit. We are shooting our first video this sunday...anyway i got my eye out for you

  • I miss LTL :-)

  • See I spammed almost everybody that commented on here and almost everyone watched and almost everyone liked the video! You just have to have faith!

  • @sprstarproducer Biggie and Pac had Faith! We just have to get lucky...and JD talks about Waka??...well i bet if he wasnt gucci manes cousin or whatever he wouldnt have made it!

  • @Torchclubswag your funny...I'm too ambitious...nothing will stop me

  • You had some great points. I am an artist and people always tell me they like my music. But there are so many links to bad music floating around that people may not even click on your links no matter how good your music is, because all links look the same.

  • @Stylisticent well when you see someone else post a song or something, just message them and tell them you will check out theres and have them check out yours and trade thoughts... If they want you to listen to theirs they will listen to yours! and give honest feedback...people respond to that!

  • @Torchclubswag I agree, there have been situations where I have done that. We have agreed to check out each other's music, comment & like the video/song to let each other know what we think. Well, I did each of those things and never got a response meaning they may not have even clicked on the link for real.lol

  • @Stylisticent well you did your part! you will run into people like us that will give honest feedback! and subscribe to people who deserve it! Torchclub

  • @Torchclubswag Thats whats up. I am about to check out your music right now and subscribe to your channel.

  • lmfao it's like swag, spam!

  • SPAM IS UNWANTED MESSAGES SENT INDISCRIMINATELY TO A LARGE NUMBER OF RECIPIENTS. REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE CONTENT IS (MUSIC OR BOGUS PROMISES OF AN IPAD). IF IT ENDS UP IN MY JUNK MAIL AND I DON'T WANT IT, IT'S SPAM.

  • great advice from JD but these hard headed niggas don't listen, they will continue to SPAM

Some people need to stay LOCAL and get hot in their own city FIRST before trying to get signed

  • @OTKP never go local, always go global. Just post your music on the internet and let the "talk" do the work for you :) like JD said, let your ass get discovered or let someone that KNOWS someone discover you and then talk about you.

  • @Evrenovic

that is the point, some artist feel "ABOVE" being a Local Artist, nobody said "STAY LOCAL, but I think it helps when a Artist can shut a show down in his own backyard and lets say a A&R guys in their and he see the reactions of your fans and how the respond to you

the movement right now is about having that Cult like Following like Wiz and Taylor Gang, Odd Future, Currency and The Jets, you build that shit in your backyard first then BRANCH OUT!

  • @OTKP Good point. :) But I never ment that going globally should make you feel "above" the rest. Of course every word on the street starts locally. The same goes for shows. But you should always aim globally from the very beginning :)

  • @OTKP Yeah the artist has to build the brand. I agree.

  • #trustory

  • ....HERES MYYYY QUESTION JD..."JANETS ENGAGED, HOW YOU FEELING ABOUT IT?? U CARE, U MIND, OR YOUR HAPPY IF SHE HAPPY..?? (((LIFECHANGINC)))

  • @thalifechanga keep his private business off of here!

  • Also, it would be different, for me at least, if the music I was hearing was original and something different. However, I usually just get a less expensive version of what I already hear on the radio and from artist that have already made it. I think it's possible for the people to help an artist break, but the music has to be intriguing. If it's crap, I'm labeling it spam and keeping it moving.

  • HipHop is dead on radio for three years

  • ive checked out every video and link that people have sent me! Torchclub is gonna support everybody and we have been getting all positive feedback ourselves....So its a race TO THE TOP.....TORCHCLUB IS GONNA WIN!!

  • @smithboy21 thanks appreciate it!!!

  • "It's just like SWAG..SPAM" lmao! I love your videos JD :-)

  • lol have anybody ever received a record deal by spamming? The Spamming actually makes people NOT WANT TO CHECK YOUR MUSIC OUT!

  • Spam or not it works and it works very well if you have an interesting subject title that the person you are sending the video to will find interesting and if its a good video they'll appreciate it. I get hundreds of views and tons of followers everyday just because my channel is so interesting.
