  • One of my favorite Stanhope rants.

  • A WOMAN will increase HER carbon footprint huh? Right, because it's WOMEN that have babies and not men, too. Otherwise I agree with this.

  • @IndifferentSky

Well, men don't take COCP's, do they?

  • Now if we can only find a way to abort the Rick Santorums of the world before they're born, we can reduce our carbon footprint _and_ our self-righteous-scumfuck-evil footprint at the same time...

  • Can anyone tell me what the music in this clip is please?

  • finally someone says it

  • What no one wants to hear, but what everyone needs to hear. I like it.

  • But, Doug Stanhope was a baby..... so he's a hypocrite. I'm just sticking with George Carlin and Bill Hicks. Sure they were against pro-creation, but they weren't as sick as this guy is.

  • @Dreamichigo1 Wow, what an illogical argument.

  • @MrMonkeyThumbsticks How is it illogical?

  • @Dreamichigo1 Your claim of hypocrisy doesn't make sense. If he already had or was having kids you may have a point but he's never conceived a child and has no intentions to (he has a vasectomy). Everyone ever was a baby at one point, there is no choice in the matter so it is a moot point.

Also have you ever listened to Hicks or Carlin? They said some pretty sick stuff that more than likely directly inspired Stanhope.

  • @MrMonkeyThumbsticks He claims that they are big polluters of the Earth and all of these negative things about children, when at one point, he was a child. Can't you see the hypocrisy?

He says that abortion is green, and yet he fails to realise that humans are nature, and every thing we produce is natural, and it will all be reclaimed by the Earth at one point. There was a bit of George Carlin in that paragraph. I've listened to both for a year or two, and they actually had some key points

  • @Dreamichigo1 Its not hypocrisy, look up the definition of the word. It has to do with conscious decisions, you never consciously decide to be a baby.

Flies are part of nature too, but if they ever could reproduce without the threat of predators they would overpopulate and destroy the world in only a couple of days.

Humans have no natural predators and our medicine and technology allows us to live longer than ever- we are very overpopulated.

  • @MrMonkeyThumbsticks Yes, but what Doug is saying is hypocritical. I know you can't consciously decide to be born, be he is consciously saying babies are monsters and are animals, when he was one himself. Babies also have little idea of what they are doing, and he acted the same way when he was young. That's what I mean when I say he is being hypocritical.

How could flies destroy the world? Disease?

The phrase "overpopulation" is relative. I believe that the human race can be evenly (Con)

  • @Dreamichigo1 A dictionary is your friend.

He never said babies were monsters nor that they were causing the problem through their personal actions. Additionally we are all animals regardless.

Flies could destroy the world with sheer numbers.

We are poorly distributed- but more importantly we are also overpopulated.

We have stopped evolving because we are a global species and there is no way for groups of us to be isolated enough to force genetic divergence.

  • @MrMonkeyThumbsticks He did in fact on a show in 2000. Yes, but as I say babies are animals, I meant it not to be taken literal, and as an offence.

I still don't understand how flies could destroy the world, by just existing in large quantities.

Yes, and fair-distribution will solve the "overpopulation" dilemma.

That is also a factor I forgot to mention.

  • @Dreamichigo1 Flies make up a large percentage of our biomass that is consumed daily by frogs, birds, rodents ect. If they could reproduce unchecked you would be breathing flies within a matter of days, they would utterly destroy the world.

Your fair-distribution theory doesn’t take into account proximity to resources, places of commerce and climate considerations. Not to mention the logistics of rearranging the entire population.

  • @MrMonkeyThumbsticks Very well, I don't know that much about biology, so I'll take your word for it.

Every continent has it's own resources, and agriculture would obviously play a big part in the matter. The climate isn't too much of a problem, as long as it isn't as extreme as Antarctica.

It doesn't seem that far off of an idea, as long as you have anything better, beside killing off the population and making abortions mandatory, you try a solution.

  • @MrMonkeyThumbsticks (Con) distributed across all continents of the world. The human race is not over populated, it is just poorly distributed.

Exactly, and because humans have no natural predators, and are capable of healing the sick, we should feel blessed. Although, medicine does have it's negatives, such as slowing down the evolutionary process and making the human race weaker.

  • @Dreamichigo1 Well, just because he was once a baby himself doesn't mean that his argument is any less weaker. Basically, what I'm trying to say is just because he may be a hypocrite doesn't make the statements he made in his argument false.

  • @k3l2p Therefore, it would be a strong inductive argument and perhaps even a cogent one.

  • @k3l2p exactly. i smoke cigarettes. if i told you that you ought not to smoke cigarettes because they are bad for you, you could call me a hypocrite but that wouldnt mean that cigarettes dont hurt you.

    well done.

  • i like the setting ahaha

  • Doug Stanhope for President 2012!!!!

  • dave stanhope such a idiot

  • @incriveltv1 Who's dave stanhope?

  • @maridejun Malthus had his math off, but he is still avenged; Paul Ehrlich has proven as much, if also only with exaggerated math as well... its just happening more slowly than some predicted... i remember decades ago when they said we'd have 7 billion by 2000, but we had a nice 11 year break from that tragedy... shouldn't we still not take chances anyway? i mean even if we can handle 10 billion, we shouldn't try, don't u think?

do u know how many people live in abject poverty?

  • @maridejun just what is your OK NUMBER as to the critical mass that is overpopulation?

what do u think is sustainable? NEGATIVE POPULATION GROWTH had a range of 1.5 to 2 billion... and shouldn't THAT be the number if we are trying to achieve a high standard of living for all of us?

  • @maridejun So how many kids do you have mari ?

  • Now I'm double-proud of the fact that I don't want kids.

  • @LZJoZ I am proud of you as well.

  • and that's exactly why im not birthing any kids (plus some other reasons). he just speaks everything that i think, it's incredible

  • Abortion is green... haha, holy shit. Awesome line.

  • while roughly true it kinda dances around the main point and that is that goods are created to last a short while so you will buy new ones asap. Not a single company will say: "we have produced enough cars now, lets stop growing" or "lets build a car that will last 50 years witht he proper service and then go out fo busines once the demand is fed" any organisms in nature grow and multiply till their limit, the balance is acheived when something stops it and they cant conitnue in that direction.

  • I can appriciate Doug's angle on many issues but over population is nothing but a myth perpetuated by scumfucks like Al Gore. The fuckin' guy is all about carbon taxes and exhaling becoming a legal issue. The earth only seems over populated because human beings are too fuckin' stupid to figure out we're consolidated to highly populated areas per square mile. How much open space is unoccupied? Think about it.

  • @TheOmegaeyes That's something I've come to realise over the past few months. Plenty of empty space all over the middle of Wales (and it's rather desolate in places) but people are drawn to living by the coast not just because they want to but that's where the jobs and facilities are. If you live in rural Wales you're cut off not just from night clubs and big stores but also decent medical care and pubs. Lots of people would love to live in a market town like Brecon.

  • Doug, your mama didn't have a baby, might a helped out some.

  • @TaterGumfries Ad hominem; fight his argument you pussy.

  • LMAO A tired old whore! Soooo true!!!

  • The song is Beethoven's 7th symphony, second movement.

  • @wtkommando What, he couldn't get it right the first time?

  • Jesus, he's right. It's so obvious.

  • you can drive an entire fleet of hummers to and from work every day, hanging your ass out the window, farting styrofoam packing peanuts into the atmosphere and still not cause a fraction of the damage that one stupid baby causes to the planet. try sodomy, and abortion is green

  • type in: Overpopulation: The Making of a Myth .. im not disagreeing with doug or agreeing with either party really im just saying ... i like to fuck i love sex ... i prefer the video witch implies for me to keep doing so :)

  • @zachartom I actually use that video in logic courses due to the outrageous amount of fallacious reasoning.

  • Comment removed

  • @zachartom sodomy and abortion. make fucking sure you don't vote republican next year if you'd like to fuck someone's brains out and leave with a clear conscience about the impact you're havin on the environment.

  • Two breeders refuse to be eco-friendly.

  • My girlfriend's friend's sister has had five kids so far, and she wants to have more. Her excuse? "Well it's God's commandment for us to procreate."

    Facepalm x1000000.

  • @pratikh That's just an excuse for keeping on breeding.

  • @lemsip Funny how there isn't a commandment to use your fucking brain and think for yourself.

  • @pratikh Maybe it's you who needs to read properly and think for yourself. I was actually agreeing with you and you then decide to attack me for no reason at all.

  • @pratikh I have to explain this in simple English at Kindergarten level for you. Religious people think that God is telling them to have more children. God doesn't tell anybody to have lots of children. What they really want to do is have more children so that they can show them off and have them look after them in old age.

  • @lemsip "be fruitful and multiply"... ring a bell?

  • @HatemailMagnet That was written in the book of Genesis but most Christians go by the New Testament not the Old Testament which was written for the Jews.

  • @lemsip The old testament was supposedly inspired by god to be god's word. The new testament is scripture based on Jesus. So, who is deciding your fate?

  • @HatemailMagnet The new testament supersedes the old testament. Jews were expected to live by the law whereas Christians are guided by the Holy Spirit within them. Jesus never said to 'go forth and multiply'. That was relevant when there were only a few humans on Earth.

  • @lemsip But god declared that if you don't believe in him, and abide by his laws, you will go to hell. The jews believe in a god that has not yet manifested itself on this planet, and yet you believe he did. So, one of you must be going to hell.

  • @HatemailMagnet I don't follow any religion now and that's mainly because I was hearing too much of the old testament in the churches I went to and expected to live by it. whereas in the ones went to where I lived before used the old testament more in context.

  • @HatemailMagnet All a christian is is an impatient jew.

  • @wistoncap If you think Jews are patient, try standing infront of one at a bank...

  • @lemsip Brilliantly said. Well done. Yes

  • "Sodomy is eco-friendly, and abortion is green". Words to live by.

  • Maybe your mum should of thought about sodomy 44 years ago.

  • LOGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Spoken.

  • Doug to the presidents !

  • Bullshit!

  • Doug Stanhope, George Carlin and Bill Hicks are three of the brightest people who ever lived! :)

  • @Phil1stalk Wow, Whats Your problem? Did You really just write a huge pile of hate over someone posting a positive Youtube comment? Chill the fuck out...

I think someone has way to much excess anger over his boring meaningless life.

    Cheers

  • @tehboxnoob -- Doug's bought a beer for me. Has he ever bought a beer for you? I love the guy and not because of the free beer. He makes me laugh!!

But he says himself, he doesn't CARE! He doesn't CARE about the wars, the terrorists, the government inside job talk, he just doesn't care. And he says so on Alex Jones and everytime he opens his mouth. I'm just repeating what Doug admits and says himself to a guy who put Doug's name in with Carlin and Hicks. Hicks CARED about Waco. Not Doug!

  • @tehboxnoob -- Or in Doug's own words, I don't want to sound like, "a tired old whore who tells you only what you want to hear". Maybe you're insulted because I called you a drunk mushroom eater and I didn't mention your colostomy bag and failed gangrene vasectomy? Anyways, when Doug talks to me he knows he isn't being bullshitted. I would never deliberately hurt Doug's feelings. Hicks cared about the problems he made jokes of. Doug just points out the jokes and doesn't care about the issues.

  • @Phil1stalk

I guess the question is, 'Does caring about it make it better?'

I used to be passionate about things like all the problems with the banks and the corporations and the governments and the HUUUUGE glut of humanity that just keeps on growing...but what has that got me? Nothing but unnecessary stress IMO. It is easier to reflect on the issues but not care too much about how or IF they get resolved - saves you the disappointment, because most of the big issues seem none-resolvable!

  • @tehboxnoob And Joe Rogan.

  • @GotAmmo21 Joe Rogan isn't as smart as he is knowledgeable and aware. He's of probably slightly above average intelligence but is really turned on, well read, and makes the best use of what he's got.

  • @tehboxnoob Yes Exactly!!!

  • @tehboxnoob Not at all, they're just three of the funniest bright people who ever lived. :)

  • This man ain't talking nothing and nothing but sense.
