DDP was SQUASHED right off the bat and the fued was utterly meaningless becauseof it. Who cared about DDP by the time Summer Slam rolled around? He'd been beaten by Taker and his wife on so many occasions so there was absolutely no payoff at Summer Slam.

At this time DDP was the best all around pro wrestler WCW had to offer. Great mic skills, a good wrestler, and one hell of an entertainer. 100% should have been a WWE champion but was completely misused. Vince McMahon seemed to destroy the legacy of most ECW and WCW characters (Scott Steiner, Mike Awesome, mostly and unfortunately Tazz) and this was a complete tragedy.

@kidmetal24 No argument from me my friend. In the boring WCW nitro days, DDP was the one and only guy who had excellent skills as a wrestler and held the show together. Without him WCW would have fell much quicker (pre 2000 most likely) than it actually did. Its a disgrace then that WCW completely misused his character and wasted him. A fued with HHH or Shawn micheals would have been fantastic, but it just did not materialise.

First of all, keep in mind that this video is from 2001, 9 years ago. Most people who are married are happy at one time. Sadly, the way times are now, more and more people grow unhappy together over time. I imagine that's what happened here. I know for a fact that WWE didn't plan this out, it was more based on circumstances. Hell, maybe McCool is a homewrecker, I don't know. I agree with everything that was said. My favorite superstars in WCW were DDP, Buff Bagwell, and Booket T, also Razor Ramone vince should have tried to help them out a bit even though they ran out on him and went to WCW in the first place like the backstabbers that they are.

This angle would've been okay if they didn't bury DDP. They made him look like some midcarder. They could've at least have him maybe beat Taker once and continue the feud for quite a while.
