Possibly, some Slytherins could be tolerant of non-purebloods(Severus Snape and Voldermort were half-bloods and they seemed to "fit in" Slytherin). Slytheins got along only with members of their own house because NO ONE else liked them! Slytherins weren't going to beg to be friends with people from other houses. Those who were not Slytherins thought they were going to be dark wizards!
