  • i learned this song a fell in love whit it

  • precioso, y que bien interpretado

    un placer oirlo

    gracias

  • Hey man. That Carulli was really cool!!!! I love the set up that you use too!! What guitar is that?

  • very beautiful...

  • BLACKBIRD SINGING IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT

  • Sor and Carulli? Carulli made hundreds of pieces for level 2 guitarists.

Sor made most of his works for advanced guitarists and then played them

at a higher level then what is even attained today. Also Carulli is 4 or 5

years older the Sor, and Sor then lost 4 years in the Spanish army, though

he was still writting music. Sor moved to Paris just after Carulli. Carulli had already taken over the city.

That is why Sor left for England after just a few years. They obviously had to

    know each 1.

  • beautiful

  • Beautifull! Thank you so much!

  • this piece is quite easy, but you brought out its sophistication. two thumbs up! :))

  • I know how to play this song, it's not hard but it sounds beautifully <3

  • Where can i get the tabs for this song???

  • I think your playing is beautiful. Whenever I watch this video it makes me pick up my guitar.

  • This is the best rendition of this piece I have found in youtube so far!!

  • thank you very much for posting!! Now I'm eager to learn it!

  • Really great! Im learning to play it myself atm

  • I'm definitely learning guitar on your plays. Everything seem so simple looking at your fingers.

After the Dioniso Aguado's Lesson 19, i'm now playing this one and I almost have it done.

    Just to say Thank You,

  • temazo

  • thank you so much for putting some beginners pieces on here, even though you are "too good" to play them, and so wonderfully played! It is very useful for beginners like me and as you said yourself it is a great way to learn from other people on youtube.

  • Nicely done. I think too much weight in the criticisms of this post was given to tempo. (Too fast, too slow!) Andantino is the gray border area between andante and moderato. He speeds up and slows down in spots, which adds feeling to the piece. His average is about 92-96 bpm which is in that border area. More important is the tonal quality, the articulation, and the overall feel with which he interprets the piece, and IMHO he scored a direct hit. Well done.

  • OMG You made me fall in love with this song... you played it beautifull

  • WOW, BRAVO. Thank You.

  • Isn't this just Adante?

  • you played it wrong at the last

    staff the second measure

    you should be playing

    re-do-fa-re mi-ti-sol-mi

    and you played

    re-do-fa-do mi-ti-sol-ti

but btw good performance dude !!

  • I have just learned this song and its beautiful =)

  • ooh :D i like it hehe thanks for the video

  • I like the painting behind you!

  • I only love the first half of this piece. I play it every day

  • I really love this tune! do you have the tabs?

  • great performance! watch mine too :D

  • To play music at a very good level many think that you need to start very early, when you are 5 or 7 years old. You destroy totally this theory!. You play the guitar at a professional level!!! Congratulations

  • i hate u for being that good =D.... kudos!

  • i love you performace.

    God bless

  • if i remember right they were rivals but i think thats what inspired them to be better because when they were both performing the piano and orchestras were becoming alot more popular so very few guitarist were well recognized at the time so they both were rivals to be better than eachother but they inspired eachother at the same time to try and make guitar performances more popular

  • excelente toque

  • excelente maestro

  • yes i heard the Sor's Op. 60, nr. 9 and i presume maybe Ferdinando was inspired by Sor becuz they almost sound similar just the feelin and the notes. ^.^

  • wich brand is your guitar?

  • you play very well hello!! sorry can you tell me where I find that sheet music or notes to touch or you could give me the hope I really liked your answer and thanks

  • that was amazing im learning to play it in guitar lessons if u live in laredo go to la-re-do music acadamy its great

  • Its always a pleasure to stumble across a piece of music that touches you and this is a beautiful interpretation of Andantino in G....very moving.

Dynamics, timing and technical skills are all very admirable, but what you cannot teach; is what you have.........feeling.

I never had the pleasure of listening to you playing the piano, but on hearing this piece, I think you made a wise move.

    Thank you for posting.

  • beautiful....

  • very nice playing ,but a little too slow.

  • @23462252 No its far too fast ,everybody plays it too fast , this is twice the speed it should be played

  • sure, not bad at all but slow

  • my guitar is an alhambra 2c as yours. I'm also learning how to play that music at school. you play in a fantastic way this song. nice job

  • Beautifully played. And such a delightful surprise to find such amazing audio/video quality on YouTube! What microphone were you using for this?

  • It's wonderful to listen to what great musicianship can do for a piece. The best version on youtube so far. Kudos!

  • la postura e sbagliata

  • Grande prezentacione!È un piacere ascoltare tu.Sempre ritorno!!!

  • Hi Vabejas, I have to admit, your video is much better than mine!

  • parabens ae cara

    muito bom msm o video

sei tocar msm ..so nao sei classica ..estou aprendendo poco andante e muito dificil ..

  • nice job

  • In the time of Carulli etc a lot of the music was left to the performers interpretation, so therefore the tempo of the piece is not of great consequence. The tempo here matches well, any slower and it would become quite bland.

  • hes playing it too fast its supposed to be played at a speed slower than walking pace

  • I was wondering that....I thought my timing was all wrong on this piece when I listened to him. He seems to be rushing. Is my much slower pace the correct one?

  • Yes, Andantino translates literally as "Slower than walking"

  • @ colotron : Andantino is actually two steps faster than andante. Andante means, not quite litterally, as fast as walking. Then comes andante moderato, a little faster and then andantino...Cheers !

  • Such a lovely sound! A bit easy though.

  • Beautiful!.

Pozdrawiam

  • You da man!

  • good guitar stance

  • hi! i like this song ^^ but i dont know the name .... my friend can play it. you are very good at playing the guitar. wish you luck

  • Jasper, I too am trying to follow your version which is my favorite.

  • Wow, this is best I have heard this piece played!

  • @AllegroTranquillo Yes, Excellent!! I am amazed at the almost studio quality to the sound - if I hadn't seen the video, I never would have thought it was recorded in a house!

  • It is unlikely that either Sor or Carulli inspired each other. They have very different style...although both are galant music.Certainly in Paris Carulli established himself as the first and reigning superstar of the guitar.Although Carulli composed fabulous virtuouso music such as his forty eight Preludes and Twenty Four Morceaux,he preferred to eat better than Sor and composed mostly charming music for intermediate players of which there was a much larger paying audience.

  • Your phrasing is a bit square and inelastic. You need to emphasize what notes are more important in a phrase through dynamics and timing changes. On the other hand you have a nice state of mind with this charming rhetoric.

  • great!!

  • Your performance of this piece is the best from youtube!

  • You performance of this piece is the best from youtube!

  • You think so? Well, obrigado!!

    Best wishes,

  • @Vabejas

    Abraço

  • @Vabejas I have to play this for my 8th grade concert along with my classmates...sounds good! except none of my classmates can play it ha

  • Jasper - I'm working on this piece and are using your version on YouTube as my "model" as I improve my playing. I've watched and listened to many of your other YouTube performances. You are amazing! How you've gotten this good since only starting guitar in 2007, inspirational!

    alfreedo from New Mexico.

  • Jasper - Thanks for the reply and the encouragement. Your tempo on Carulli's Andantino sounds about right to me. I have it at 95-105 beats/min. I think I can work up to that, but I'm not there yet.. I've started on Carcassi Etude 3. It will be a "work in progress" for me. Lots of new "finger shapes" and positions.

    Keep up the good playing.

    Alan aka alfreedonm

  • i remember learning this at school lol didn't know wat it was called, just thought it was the tune from the cancer research advert

  • I just started learning this piece from Noad and came across this video. It sounds wonderful. Now I have a better perspective of what I'm aiming to achieve.

  • Hi Cobbler3376, thanks for your comment and good luck with the piece. You can come back to me as many times as you like :)

Practice the melody seperately (rest stroke) first until you've nailed it. Then add the accompanying notes, start slowly, always with a metronome. That's the secret, if there is any...

There you go, free lesson, my pleasure! Let me know how you get on.

    Regards,

    Jasper

  • 5 of 5, well balanced interpretation, i like it very much, although i had moved to the 17./18. centuries ;-)) .

  • He is very Good

  • Very well done!

  • I've looked at all the versions of this piece on youtube, as I am planning on playing it at my dad's burial. Yours was the most beautifully played, and brought me to tears. Hopefully I can do as well as this 6 days from now. Thanks!

  • Speaking of tears... As if the song wasn't enough... how did it turn out for your dad's burial?

  • Curious :) How did you do?

  • I did alright considering I have very little experience yet. My dad heard me practicing this shortly before he passed, but it was Vabejas' playing that helped inspired me work hard to improve on it and use it at the service. I didn't play nearly as well, but it was still the perfect thing I could have done.

  • Dear Vabejas

Man that is cute and tender expression. You never overlook simple etude. 5 strs.
