  • Luther ....plain and simple !!!!

  • Always a classic. Luther at his damn finest! :-)

  • Yup one of the best Roller Skating songs ever Edmonton Sports World North Side. JerryK DarrenC KennyK DarcyP. Love this band.

  • It was a midday drive across the Slidell bridge headed into NOLA in the summer of 1980 when I first heard this jam. I was on my way to Freshman Orientation to Dillard Univ. and became hip to WYLD. New Orleans was the best years of a young lads life!!!

  • got the t shirt big at tiffanys rip luther

  • Oh how can you forget how wicked this tune was..... wow.... flash back to those nights and when the deej licked this everybody was ON this!

  • One of the COLDEST dance jams of all time....

  • I was in grammer school when I heard this tune for the first time. LOVED IT. Classic Luther RIP

  • Some people called Change a poor man's Chic. I call them Chic Jr..

  • Luther's early years. You are dearly missed.

  • Who wouldn't want to dance to this, great soul sounds! Love, love love it, RIP Luther,l A special man!

  • Wtf? "When the going get's tough" (you know the one I mean) ripped this off. Totally.

  • @MeredithWaters ...Billy Ocean

  • Gives you, that tingly feeling, all over your body everytime this song plays!!!

  • Fell in love with this the first time i heard it and to this day it sounds as good now as it did then. Yeah, i still do the actions and if working, a screwdriver is a handy mic, the wife an kids take the piss, but it's a classic track.

  • Man, I used to hear this song all the time during the summer when I was a kid. My dad was raised on the funk & would play these jams non-stop. We'd bbq outside & have everyone over. I can remember being 6-9 y.o. again just listening to this. God those summers used to last forever. I was HOOKED on this song. Those synthesizers is what did it. Even back then I loved 80's music, & still do to this day. Hearing this makes ME wanna go 'searching' for all the other songs I loved as a kid.

  • Oh my god. There will never be another Luther, or great music like the past..

  • HEEEEEEEEYY

  • Hit #1 on the Billboard dance chart for 9 weeks with A Lover's Holiday & Glow Of Love in May 1980

  • If I was Change back then, I would locked up Luther V. for a few more albums before he went solo. No offense to the other male lead singer for Change, but he couldn't blow like Luther could....lol

  • @sbrute66 Jacques Fred Petrus was too cheap really to keep Luther on, despite the success.

  • I used to listen to this song and two others on this album over and over.

  • No one can replace Luther! #timeTravelTuesday

  • This song is sick! Songs like this make think how people could speak about disco like it was a plague. How is this song in any shape or form "bad" or "not real music"?

  • There will never be another Luther!!!!

  • So very sad that Luther is no longer with us, but what a great song, just love it. I'm still searching!

  • fugetabawdit

  • This Track Was A Wonderful Presentattion Of How Far Luther Was Willing To Go To Craft His Art. This Change Debut Was Magnificent!! Still Remember; Never Ever Gonna Let Go!

  • disco classic for sure! r.i.p Luther!

  • this is what we need to be listening to now, music from a real band. Music is a gift, dont give up on real music. It's time we tell the artist we buy music from what we want. this will never get old, when i play music like this people ask me who is it (lol-hehe-haha-2funny) time to share this wonderful gift.

  • Just listen to THAT bassline!! Damn awesome!

    RIP Luther :(

  • So did anybody forget to add "joe satriani" to the front like i did....

  • as the above description ]

we, me and my twin bro in the uk. were 18 when this came out and boy did we have a great time! sneaking out every night.. i mean every night!

love listening to old soul tunes. makes me go all sad! miss the days.. soon goes but hey....... its great to stay in the present but can't resist occasionally listening back. i shall look at my records in my loft sometime.. at least like the previous comments we can also say we were there and enjoyed the (real tunes) of era

  • @NJNupe1911: It's all good because you still got to catch some great music before the music industry went to hell on us.

  • Back in the day, way back

  • this was my pops favorite song

I miss him listening to this

  • This is real talent ! They are on Fire ! When you know the real, you have to take time to enjoy !!!!!! So Sweet

  • LOVE THIS SONG!

  • It's so funny how we aal search for songs from way back when, it seems we all wind up in the same pages of youtube. I guess we're people who think a lot about the past and think about all the special times we had. We seem not to want to let go.. that's a good thing though. I know it makes me feel good when i hear this great music. The 70's and 80's were so GREAT! There was magic in the air!

  • I think my mom had this album...

  • oh this is that song with Luther Vandross.... I just always thought of it as his song.

  • I love this song!!! Brings back so many good memories...house parties, weddings, dancing my axx off. Thank you Luther

  • GOOD MEMORIES!!!!!! ~ NUFF SAID.

  • @DaOrigTruthSeeker: I know that feeling because i got caught my very first time i ever snuck out of the house to go clubing. My mother was waiting for me when i got back and climbed in my bedroom window. She had in her hand a switch from the bush in the yard and she went to work on my backside. Lol....no matter though because i still enjoyed the club and did it again. My mom said she just gave up...because beating my behind wore her out more then it did me. Precious memories will never fade.

  • @READY4REVELATION Haha.... now that feeling!! My mother went to the disco asking for me! I was after the disco in the basement with a girl!!! lol......

  • @READY4REVELATION

Your comment about you sneaking out and your mum caught you made me laugh....Hilarious.

  • @READY4REVELATION wow. I thought I was the only one that snuck out the bedroom window! Mom didn't catch me --the window locked. I could'nt get back in. Who knows maybe Mom caught me after all. ha. Good memory.

  • @READY4REVELATION Switch don't hear that word anymore.Used to have to climb tree to get 1. Thanks Mom. Memories.

  • THIS WAS SOOOO HOT,LUTHER TORE IT UP.

  • This song reminds me of the fuck of a lifetime, back in 1980! Music conjures up memories in a heartbeat.

  • Luther straight up killed this cut! We had great music and equally so real singers with distinct voice and talent. They paid real dues and had their craft down before the spot light fell on them. Luther alive today and using autotune? LMFAO!!! Not even!

  • Classic song I love it! Wow those were the days my friend I wish it would have never end! ")

  • I remember when I first started to go out to the clubs in NY. I started in Queens in 1978, graduated to the city and I was hooked. I never slept, my ears are still ringing, Now I am 53, and I am still going out, but I do Salsa now. I miss those times, I used to take the bus and the F train from Queens to the city and come back at 4:30 in the morning by myself and no one f***** with me. NYC is the bomb yo, and I have been all over the world (Hawaii was close).

  • This is a late night time song or a Saturday summer afternoon song, this is good anytime but it takes you in another place playing it at night or in the summer! This my favorite song by him, RIP to the legend Luther Vandross!

  • I love this song

  • dance yo ass off

  • Luther was the s**t, this was the beginning of a beast....man could he blow...never ever could you not listen and feel that magnificent voice.....once in a life time...life was so gooood, and we'd cruise...so damn free. When I hear this or anything " Change" I feel the wind again....sweet!

  • they played this in a little club in cobham last week ,a full dance floor with some old skool moves being pulled

  • This is one of my all time favorites by this group! I use the album covers by this group as an art exhibit in my home. I went to see Luther Vandross in concert in San Francisco, California and he sang this song. He was great! I miss him so much, but one thing is for sure. He left us some wonderful music to always remember him by.

  • Every try to asks someone about a song that you know no words too. It's fustrating. I had been hearing this song for years and only remembered that Luther sang lead vocals. I thought it was Micheal McDonald and Luther Vandross.

I had forgotten Luther had done this song while he was with Change. It was the perfect dance tune. RIP Luther.

    Sedu Bah

  • This makes me miss Luther and alot of people from this era who are now dead. We used to have so much fun dancing and just being silly. I remember when i first discovered the club scene in New York and my friends told me that i was a late bloomer because they had known about alot of them early on. I was a kid of strict parents. I played it off when i first went into New York like i was used to it....but i was frontin i was not used to the club scene....but i got used to it quick.

  • @DaOrigTruthSeeker lol..yes indeed....its called a quick study when you beatin the streets! I became a fixture at the GARAGE and was a bamma from Long Island frontin just like you was.....but they didnt know! :)~~~

  • Was in Plainfield NJ on the BBall court, kid came by with this blowing on his Bbox, looked round and everyone was jammin on this tune. Even the BBall game statred to move with the beat. Brothers on the court was playing along with the beat. Ha Ha Ha.......1st time i heard Luther Vandross......been a fan ever since.

  • Great jam by the dog gone fat man.

  • I adore this song. It got me thru an entire summer and introduced me to Luther Vandross.

  • RIP Luther...no one, and I mean NO ONE, can match your sultry, smooth, yet vibrant and exciting tonal quality with the exception of the highly underrated Phyllis Hyman, that was one of the best times for R&B. May you both enjoy eternal Peace and may all the souls in Heaven rejoice in having both you and Phyllis to serenade them every day!

  • AWEO

  • This track has what most tracks from the current era do not: atmosphere. It takes you somewhere, rocks the body, and is one of the best, most exciting dance tracks of the early 80s. Some records are just cool; this one is majestic in scope. I danced to it here in L.A., and I've been listening to it for 30 years. It still sounds fresh!

  • Whatever Luther died from he was a great talent and is and will always be greatly missed. People need to stop throwing these misguided opinons on others. He was one of the Best RnB singers of the 80's and 90's don't disrespect this Icon.

  • @simplythebest40 iWell said ,thanks.

  • @simplythebest40

    I think he had diabetes.

  • always remember Luther for his originals,he was magic,we will miss you dearly

  • Rolls Royce vocal and groove. Pure majesty.

  • LUTHER VANDROSS RIP

  • Great music!!

  • this song, defines cool perfectly. :)

  • Was in Holland (Netherlands) quite famous. Still belongs to my favorites, especially Luther, Rest In Great Natural Piece

  • Such understatedly awesome music. I luv the simple, repetitious rhythm and melody. . . so warm, smooth and groovy -- a very nice "River Dance" type of rhythm. They would tear this song up! I would love to see them dance to this. This is one of Luther's best -- and prettiest.

  • This song is awesome!

  • proper dance music not like todays rubbish R.I.P Luther

  • you are missed

  • A cool and funky/smooth groove. Good stuff . It will never die. Senior year in high

school , about to really experience life . Good memories / good times .

  • This song is the first first time I heard the melodic tones of Luther Vandross...Made me a lifetime fan....Drove all the way to the "Spectrum" for a Sixer's game on this song...on replay.....So glad I found this....brings back real good memories!!!!!

  • Bring back these days, this was music...WOW!!!

  • LUTHER LUTHER LUTHER so sweet
