She kills him so he can join the flying dutch man 3. He turns into a merman and the have sea monkeys. I dont think she would of killed him, he saved her 2 times, she obviously loves him, why would she cry for then?, she didnt cry about anything else. Anywho I hope they continue their story in the next movie. I love seryna and philip.
She isn't taking him to the surface. Earlier in the movie when they are on the boat about to be attacked by the mermaids, one sailor says that a kiss from a mermaid will save a sailor from drowning and allow him to breathe underwater which is why he was trying to kiss her.
