  • gram parsons is a bad example because he never had the physical constitution of keith richards. hard drug lifestyle wrecked gram so hard. some people just aren't built for it physically.

  • That's funny that he refers to that Lenny Bruce book and that made him want to shoot heroin. That book made me want to stay away from it! Lenny Bruce was a messy mess.

  • Weel, Bob it s just a piece of sheet. I wanna see how he s going with 69 years. The same thing he used to be, NOTHING.

Paul is the individual singuer with the most sucessful carrer in the world, i think no one can say something like that.

  • @mariliacordeiro He's a rehab counselor helping addicts get clean. That's something. You're nothing and will always be nothing with your attitude..

  • Bob looks so much better now (a la Celebrity Rehab) than he does here. He looks barely alive here and now when he talks it's like his spirit soars.

  • This guy is a bore.....saying the same shit that every other junkie has said before about life and death.

  • I love how Thelonious Monster always reminds me to Thelonious Monk, and how they both have this song called Body &Soul

  • @TheIndieRed Yeah - kind of illustrative of how worthless and repetitive that genre of music is.

  • I was in prison when this was recorded. My addiction has taken me to where no man has gone..I was in a space ship with fools like me and we traveled around to no where. Years later, dropped off from where we were picked up, nothing has changed accept the lines on our faces and we tried to learn how to live with the rest of these humans and found how difficult it was and reserved another seat in the fantastic voyage to no where..Addiction is real. Don't be a fool..

  • Toe tapping christ. LOL! He must have been loaded 24/7. LOL!!! :)

  • Wow he sure sold out and became everything he hated!

  • @MrGrevy

I think being sober and helping people fuckin lives is better than being some dead.

Drug addiction is no joke my friend.

  • @hillbillyjoe92 It's a joke and it's very funny. "Help me I can't stop using" lol just stop if you want to!

  • @MrGrevy he didn't sell out....hes trying to help others with addictions like he had. I applaud him for that.

  • @rsohlich1 But he did sell out because he became part of the establishment

  • @MrGrevy You must adjust your fucked up head, son.

Good is helpful. Bad is hurtful.

The "establishment" is a word that mouthy-naughties used to sell others into buying their self-defeating bullshit.

  • @amitus8 No, establishment is a perfectly fine word used to describe something he was against until he sold out. Drop the effeminate "stay in school don't do drugs" nonsense. You are embarrassing yourself.

  • @MrGrevy Negativity has gotten hold of your mind. You are a slave; your chains are invisible. This will drive you to an early death or a prison cell if you don't break those chains to embrace kindness and poise. Good luck. Surround yourself with positivity. Go for it.

  • @amitus8 Just because you erroneously label me as "negative" doesn't mean I am. You obviously lack critical thinking skill. I'm certainly no slave - in fact my mind is non-conformist, unlike yours. Take your bizarre, unsubstantiated nonsense and leave this to the adults.

  • @MrGrevy Attack attack attack. That is what you were about here from the start. It means that you are employing negativity-so negative.

If you can't see the evolution of an alcoholic/drug addict healing to help others as being a positive, then good luck AND don't hurt anyone (yourself included). Take care; I won't be responding further.

  • @amitus8 Lol I thought you'd slither away in shame. Again, you're paranoid - anyone disagreeing with you must be attacking you right? Lol what an effeminate disgrace. You don't know the meaning of the word.

  • Isnt this bram van splunteren interviewing?

  • Wow I'm glad Bob is now sober!!!!

  • Ha he'd rather be dead than be Paul McCartney? He should have explained that more if he wanted it to actually make any sense.

  • @turoniner not really, mccartney is just an awful human being

  • @Sikamikanico91 Riiiiiiiight.....whatever you say, buddy.

  • @turoniner that statement he makes is actually crystal clear. to me anyway,

  • @turoniner he is not juding paul for his talent in music. if you read an article about TM he is actually a huge beatle fan. what he is getting at is the price is cost to see him as a solo artist. he probably is the most exspensive musician to see live. where bob believes that he should not charge so much for his tickets and let his fans see the wonderful music he created for a fair price

  • AWW YOU POOR UNINFORMED PEOPLE Bob IS a Genius!!!

  • @whytelace What is genius about him? His abilities are pretty common...his words, voice, stage presence aren't that special.

  • @whytelace He's nowhere near a genius. He's not remarkable in any way. Very common and no special talent.

  • he looks like a child sitting there with those huge clothes

  • LOL what a joke. But at least he isn't wearing the costume he wears on that TV show. what's up with the hippster Hat thing. What I really hate about him on the TV show is how little respect he has for seriously ill people.

  • Damn, Bob was Rock N Roll-at one time..I thought he was a dweeb..sort of still do, but guess he's wanting to live now...sober...THats probably why he sucks, HAHA

  • Hooray for sobriety. Glad that Mr. Forest is doing so much better these days in his personal life.

  • lol, trying to be jim morrison.

    exactly, bob.

  • I remember seeing this on tv. The part where he says that he will die soon and the image of him climbing al the way up to the roof has been stuck in my head ever since. I was like, is (t)his soul going to leave his body by taking a kickass leap of faith from the roof? [omfg]...

  • They were never really that big...they came close but never made it.

  • Bob was alot more interesting back then. Now, he's a dorky VH1 counselor who goes around spouting AA slogans. Glad he's off drugs but he's taken to the antidrug thing just as obsessively as he'd taken to the drugs.

  • @ritter89 that's usually what happens...I don't get it.

  • @ritter89 In order to get clean - I mean truly clean - you have to obsess over it.

  • i agree with mrfriend

obviously he wants to help the people who are going through something similar to what he experienced with drugs. youre the prick for being too ignorant to think about that

  • Did you ever think that maybe the guy has changed in this past 15 years and now wants to help people get off drugs, as he has? Holy hell, think before you speak. Bob is a genuine guy and it's easy to see in how he addresses his patients on the VH1 show.

  • this band definitely changed rock n roll forever!

this appearance on pinkpop was really great I wish I was there that day but I had some turning 2 too do. ( i'm from 1992) and pinpop gets better every year not music wise as the music goes in the opposite direction...

  • this kids nowadays listen to house an hiphop.. crap if you ask me.

its like that song by the laughing colours: war on drugs.

he says: ''what ever happened to sex drugs n rock n roll, now we just have aids, crack and techno''.

    great saying!

    take care guys

    peace!

  • Yeah bob. Loved shooting up with this guy. He gave me a bj in rehab and was such a sport about it

  • Can anybody tell me the name of the song they are playing?

  • Body and Soul

  • You know, I wouldn't be surprised if current kick ass band, Cage The Elephant was influenced by them.

  • man fuck cage the elephant.. just another jack white ripoff

  • couldnt agree more bro

  • right? even jack white doesnt sound like that anymore, hes changing and growing. he did raconteurs and whatever his new band is, and they sound really fresh, but classic. all those douches are doing is stealing blues melodies and rhythms.

  • ya man

  • He was wearing john frusciante's clothing

  • great interview

  • @RasburryMuphinz how do you know that??

  • man i was there back then! and a few days later i saw him again performing in a chair in nijmegen (because of an injury created here)

  • i wanna see the whole live set =[

  • i know!

  • he really looks like a mix of Kurt Cobain and Lennon

  • @k0stil He really looks like a fucking waste of human on drug-poison and booze-poison.

I am happy about him having survived that awful period.

  • SHIT!!!!

  • Yup I know vanCitykyle i seen him on sober house I am just happy Bob is clean and sober but i do miss great tunes like this and live he was miuch better well wehn he was okay enough to sing that is , I still love thge guy

  • I want this live performance full

  • Love Bob , Glad he is clean and sober now , he rocks always

  • Hes a drug counsellor on Sober House VH1..

  • trying to find out about his music, before tv

  • Actually before all that Bob is the Chemical Dependency Program Director at Las Encinas. It was pretty much his idea to make the Celebrity Rehab show.

  • it's called "Body and Soul?"

  • yeah. it's fuckin sick

  • how´s the song at the start called?

  • oops nevermind u already said no ud idnt

  • "Body and Soul?"

  • lbi surf..can u get some more thelonious monster videos up?

  • whats the titel of the song?

  • @busyboy, you're kidding me! This was a rather impressive concert for me, I was thirteen and Bob Forrest seemed to come from another world. Fascinating, back then.

  • Bob Looks kinda cute Love the song sounds so good Live wish I had been there

  • where can i get this song?

  • You can get it off of the bands MySpace, but it's not the live performance.

I personally think that it sounds much better in this video. So if anyone knows where the live version is, please post the link.

  • great band. i love thelonious monster. but that pisses me off how he nags on paul mccartney. paul mccartney is amazing and very emotional. people underate him. listen to eleanor rigby very poetic and emotional and written all by paul not john

  • he's not really talking about their music hes talking about there performances, the beatles concerts ARE relatively boring, while bob forrest strives to be engergetic to give the audience a good time.

  • futhashi, the reason i think he "nags" on paul is because Paul McCartney is a real sellout, as was the beatles JOhn lennon said it himself. THey sold their souls to the record company

still i love their songs. or atleast the songs that is not just" i love love love " yada yada yada :P

  • Is there anymore footage of this show? I'd love to see it. (I was the bass player)

  • I do not know of any more footage of this show. If I ever come across any, I will be sure to upload it. And were you really their bassist? That's awesome. Do you have any Thelonious Monster footage? I'm sure a lot of people would love to see it!

  • I don't have anything myself that isn't already posted. There's a feature-length documentary about Bob and Thelonious Monster currently in production. There will be a lot of good stuff in that. Won't be out before fall of 2009.

  • @busyboy63 if you are or were their bassist do you know john frusciante????????

  • @busyboy63 WERE YOU REALLY THELONIOUS MONSTER BASS PLAYER?? shit, mustve been a ride

  • This is all there is of this performance. The clip is from the VPRO interview with John Frusciante.

I've just discovered Bob Forrest too, what a legend!

  • Hey! This at Pinkpop in holland :P

I just found out about Bob and I already love him :D

  • I love this song!

    please found the song completed!

  • I wish there was footage of the whole song! I think this is the only clip that exists of it. It's a shame, too, because this version sounds ten times better than the album version. We can only hope a full version of it will pop up some day...

  • There's more footage of this show. They also played White Riot that day, and I'm sure it was on tv.

TM didn't make it through the entire set that day. Bob Forrest smashed is his ankle into one of the monitor speakers and was carried of the stage

  • Great band.

  • helemaal geweldig, great bob, must be happy now

  • Bob now has his own website, just did his 1st podcast you can download as Mp3. The Web address is: bobforrestmusic dot com . See you...
