The point is power rangers was a form of kaiju/ the types of shows like ultraman and other movies featuring suited heros that japan has been doing in cinema since the 50's. the special effects look "cheap" because they are emulating that od what they are based on. plus im sure most of the budget goes into making the suits. i grew up on this and the original power rangers.

Actually it is a rip off of B-Fighter Kabuto which is a Metal Hero series in Japan and is made by the same company that brought us Super Sentai.

Beetleborgs started in 1996 while Power Rangers started in 1993.

The series was actualy cut off during it's series finale which was originaly a season finale I remember during the original airing during the 3rd or fourth part it kept going to the beginning which caused it to be cancelled in my personal opinion here however the VHS Movie is actualy the series finale in full glory though why not finish it on TV? man I loved this as a kid wonder if they died in the Japanese version like in PRLOL

It looks like they kinda copied Power Ranger Light Speed Rescue, but that is kinda impossible because this show was in 1998, PR-LightSpeed was in 2000 !

It looks like to me Saban tryed to save the show by adding a new battlizer, but ofcourse it failed ! looks like to me Beetle borgs was doing something ahead of its time ! and 1998 was the year the first battlizer was ever made on Power Ranger in Space !

If you're talking about when the Beetleborgs lost their powers, those were the first 2 Metallix episodes (or techinically, the last 2 episodes of Big Bad Beetleborgs; even the Mega Blue Beetleborg armor and Thunder Stinger weapon were destroyed, as the new villain single-handedly defeated all 3 of them and destroyed their armor, weapons, and powers)
