Gameness? There are so many mixes of dogs with one of the breeds in the group of dogs called pit bulls in certain dogs. There are so many responsible pit bull owners. They just don't make the news. These videos are isolated incidents used to create hysteria and hate. They are dogs. Make them safe. So many pit bulls are great pets in the right hands. Stop dog fighting as much as possible.

@zestydude87 I own a pitbull mix and some of the sweetest dogs I've met ARE pits. Pits are good dogs, and when raised and treated right, they have the greatest disposition. You can raise 'em as family dogs or one-person dogs, but in any case, they need training -- just like any other dog. Banning them won't solve anything. It's the people who make them mean. Pits were bred PHYSICALLY to fight -- not mentally. They are PHYSICALLY suitable to fight, but mentally? No. Don't be ignorant.

Most, if not all, Pits who snap on people, dogs, or children haven't been raised around them. For a well-balanced Pit, you MUST socialize them with whatever you want them to be comfortable with while young -- and shall I mention that many of those "Pit Bull" attacks were really dogs that looked like Pits but really weren't? I've been attacked by a Golden Retriever-- but never a Pit.

i live in England i have a 5 year old staffordshire bull terrier,they get the same bad press over here as pits do in America, i raised her right she shows no aggression to people or animals. She has been attacked on several occasions by so called 'good' dog breeds twice by labs,once by a border collie n several times by boxers, n never once did she retaliate she ran back to me n sat down usually bleeding with no apology from the owners! so don't judge a whole breed by the actions of a few!

Last pit that came at me while I was working in the neighborhood got a blast of alcohol into his eyes. Fill one of those swimming pool toy water blasters with alcohol. Dog of any type troubles or attacks, wash him down with a firm stream of pure alcohol, like rubbing alcohol. All I can say is dog's gone, rather quickly. Even "yelps" as it runs away swiftly.

worse part is the dog probably wasn't even a pit bull. it was most likely a stray that was hungry and saw the lil dog as an easy meal. i own a pit and he has never started a fight. in fact the meanest dog i've ever seen was two golden retrievers which tried to fun away from their owners to jump through the window of my moving car.
@tavman1211 I'd say based on the fact the attacking dog wouldn't back off and the men couldn't open his jaws, it had to be a bullterrier type dog, thats to be totally honest about things based on my experience of the breed, no other dog can do that so well, BUT considering how popular the breed is, the number of attacks statistically is much lower than attacks by other breeds, the akita is a much worse dog for attacking and doing serious harm if you google akita attacks.
husky/shepherd mix killed several of my pigeons. Oh yes, and while walking my mastiff, she was attacked by the neighbor's Shelty, which viciously attacked her under the chin. There are several people on our block with pitbulls, and yet none of them have ever been running loose or attacking anyone. It's the people who own the dogs that make them behave badly, NOT THE BREED. Quit spreading misinformation!!
@MeanyFoFeany I like your comment, i wish more people like you would comment about this issue, i've owned bullterriers for 30 years, i had 2 that were too quick to fight so i always took extra care to avoid situations where they could cause a problem, all the others were ok with other dogs, all of them including the 2 quick to fight were great with people.
@photographerireland I hear ya. I had a brindle Mastiff/pit mix & she got attacked 2x while I was walking her, leashed, around the block. Of course she wasn't going to stand there & let some little toy dog bite her all over so she bit back when someone's loose dog ran out in the street & attacked her. But I had to have her listed as "vicious" with the township, & ended up walking her at 2:00AM to avoid conflicts. It isn't fair because people with little dogs, especially toys

Scale that same dog up to middle or large size dog & suddenly you've got a not so cute thing that can cause real damage.But just because it's fluffy & small, it gets away with horribly bad behavior that would be unacceptable with a pitbull...just goes to show how well-behaved pittys can be, by comparison! I've had 3 pitbulls, all shelter rescues, & they never bit anyone, any dog, or anything else. My cats sleep on them. But I've been attacked by my neighbor's German Shepherd which grabbed my little dog by the neck & shook him & wouldn't let go. Another neighbor's dalmation bit 3 people including a mom walking her baby in a stroller. Another neighbor's 2 dobermans ripped up a litter of kittens. @MeanyFoFeany I've had pitdogs, english bullterriers, staffordshire bullterriers, the dog in my profile pic is my current one, he's 3 & half years, i've been bitten by a spaniel cross, a Lab (while seperating a fight) a german sheperd, and a jack russell, I have been in sports halls full of bullterriers photographing shows, in 30 years of keeping them and being around 1000s of them i have never been bit by one, I know some may have bitten but its very rare compared to other breeds
I had an Irish setter come out of no viciously trying to attack my 3 pits and my dogs just stood there and showed no aggression. Yes my pits shows no aggression toward and aggressive setter.

@weimfine I agree with you 100%, the classic test is > walk into a petshop with a bullterrier, the staff will handle it, pet it, play with it right away, because they see all breeds come and go, they tell me they have no problem handling the bullterriers but the toy breeds and terriers need to be approached with caution.

Pitbulls and staffs were bred for Fighting. They are the only Dog you really ever hear about attacking or killing a a dog or baby etc. They should NOT be owned to the general public, simply because they were created for fighting and Bull baiting. When a Pitbull is let loose, you either hear about savage attacks on people Dogs in there own gardens or attacks on people. They are unpredictable and head strong, quite possibly more than any other dog I know.

1. the dogs that have the most reported attacks on Humans are Labs and toy breeds.
2. The reason most dog attacks (any breed) happen to children are because children inadvertently do things to cause pain or discomfort to dogs (such as pull on ears or hitting)
3.Most dogs classified as "pit-bulls" are mixed breeds or don't have ANY pit-bull in them.

every dog is different and i don't know the whole story regarding this. i have an amstaff and he was being attacked all the time by other dogs at the park specially the jackrussell and my dog would just walk away from those dogs and one weekend i heard that when i wasn't around there was another owner with a pit that was being bothered by that same jack russell and guess what i guess the pit got ticked off and bit him. the pit didn't clasp since the owner was able to take his dog to the vet.
the way to make a vicious dog submit is to grab its hind legs and open ur arms to each side brakes there bones. a vicious dog has to be put down at one point and when its your life or theirs i'm sure u will pick theirs.

I am not a dog expert, but I can read statistics and I believe that genetics do play a part in the behavior characteristics of dogs (and all animals). I also know that pit bulls were bred to fight, so is it not reasonable to deduce that they might tend to be more aggressive towards other animals?

my 9 yr old daughter was jumped on and bitten in the face by my neighbors' "friendly" pit bull. My daughter did nothing to provoke the attack, as told by witnesses. THe dog was neutered, up to date on vaccinations, fed well, loved by it's owner and never ill-treated. The breed has earned it's reputation for being unpredictable and dangerous; a spade's a spade no matter what spin you try to put on it; they are "safe" only to their owners, sometimes not even then.
A responsible owner would make sure that his dog is neutered/spayed, up to date on shots, and knows basic manners. Additionally, a responsible owner will keep his dog on a leash and be aware of the dog's mannerisms. If it is dog aggressive/reactive, the owner would NEVER bring the dog out around other dogs. It's a shame that the irresponsible pit bull owners are making a bad name for the dogs owned by responsible people.

@zestydude87 I own a pitbull mix and some of the sweetest dogs I've met ARE pits. Pits are good dogs, and when raised and treated right, they have the greatest disposition. You can raise 'em as family dogs or one-person dogs, but in any case, they need training -- just like any other dog. Banning them won't solve anything. It's the people who make them mean. Pits were bred PHYSICALLY to fight -- not mentally. They are PHYSICALLY suitable to fight, but mentally? No. Don't be ignorant.

Most, if not all, Pits who snap on people, dogs, or children haven't been raised around them. For a well-balanced Pit, you MUST socialize them with whatever you want them to be comfortable with while young -- and shall I mention that many of those "Pit Bull" attacks were really dogs that looked like Pits but really weren't? I've been attacked by a Golden Retriever-- but never a Pit.

i live in England i have a 5 year old staffordshire bull terrier,they get the same bad press over here as pits do in America, i raised her right she shows no aggression to people or animals. She has been attacked on several occasions by so called 'good' dog breeds twice by labs,once by a border collie n several times by boxers, n never once did she retaliate she ran back to me n sat down usually bleeding with no apology from the owners! so don't judge a whole breed by the actions of a few!

Last pit that came at me while I was working in the neighborhood got a blast of alcohol into his eyes. Fill one of those swimming pool toy water blasters with alcohol. Dog of any type troubles or attacks, wash him down with a firm stream of pure alcohol, like rubbing alcohol. All I can say is dog's gone, rather quickly. Even "yelps" as it runs away swiftly.

worse part is the dog probably wasn't even a pit bull. it was most likely a stray that was hungry and saw the lil dog as an easy meal. i own a pit and he has never started a fight. in fact the meanest dog i've ever seen was two golden retrievers which tried to fun away from their owners to jump through the window of my moving car.

@tavman1211 I'd say based on the fact the attacking dog wouldn't back off and the men couldn't open his jaws, it had to be a bullterrier type dog, thats to be totally honest about things based on my experience of the breed, no other dog can do that so well, BUT considering how popular the breed is, the number of attacks statistically is much lower than attacks by other breeds, the akita is a much worse dog for attacking and doing serious harm if you google akita attacks.

husky/shepherd mix killed several of my pigeons. Oh yes, and while walking my mastiff, she was attacked by the neighbor's Shelty, which viciously attacked her under the chin. There are several people on our block with pitbulls, and yet none of them have ever been running loose or attacking anyone. It's the people who own the dogs that make them behave badly, NOT THE BREED. Quit spreading misinformation!!

Of course she wasn't going to stand there & let some little toy dog bite her all over so she bit back when someone's loose dog ran out in the street & attacked her. But I had to have her listed as "vicious" with the township, & ended up walking her at 2:00AM to avoid conflicts. It isn't fair because people with little dogs, especially toys

But I've been attacked by my neighbor's German Shepherd which grabbed my little dog by the neck & shook him & wouldn't let go. @weimfine I agree with you 100%, the classic test is > walk into a petshop with a bullterrier, the staff will handle it, pet it, play with it right away, because they see all breeds come and go, they tell me they have no problem handling the bullterriers but the toy breeds and terriers need to be approached with caution.

Pitbulls and staffs were bred for Fighting. They are the only Dog you really ever hear about attacking or killing a a dog or baby etc. They should NOT be owned to the general public, simply because they were created for fighting and Bull baiting. When a Pitbull is let loose, you either hear about savage attacks on people Dogs in there own gardens or attacks on people. They are unpredictable and head strong, quite possibly more than any other dog I know.

1. the dogs that have the most reported attacks on Humans are Labs and toy breeds.
2. The reason most dog attacks (any breed) happen to children are because children inadvertently do things to cause pain or discomfort to dogs (such as pull on ears or hitting)
3.Most dogs classified as "pit-bulls" are mixed breeds or don't have ANY pit-bull in them.

every dog is different and i don't know the whole story regarding this. i have an amstaff and he was being attacked all the time by other dogs at the park specially the jackrussell and my dog would just walk away from those dogs and one weekend i heard that when i wasn't around there was another owner with a pit that was being bothered by that same jack russell and guess what i guess the pit got ticked off and bit him. the pit didn't clasp since the owner was able to take his dog to the vet.

Pit-bulls (if not abused) will not bite for no reason, and as with any dog you don't want to stick your hand by there mouths. They may bite you on ACCIDENT. I've hit my Pitty in the head when he was attacked by another dog. My dog was the victim, but he was still more powerful and I didn't want some idiot to make a video like this!

I am not a dog expert, but I can read statistics and I believe that genetics do play a part in the behavior characteristics of dogs (and all animals). I also know that pit bulls were bred to fight, so is it not reasonable to deduce that they might tend to be more aggressive towards other animals?

my 9 yr old daughter was jumped on and bitten in the face by my neighbors' "friendly" pit bull. My daughter did nothing to provoke the attack, as told by witnesses. THe dog was neutered, up to date on vaccinations, fed well, loved by it's owner and never ill-treated. The breed has earned it's reputation for being unpredictable and dangerous; a spade's a spade no matter what spin you try to put on it; they are "safe" only to their owners, sometimes not even then.

A responsible owner would make sure that his dog is neutered/spayed, up to date on shots, and knows basic manners. Additionally, a responsible owner will keep his dog on a leash and be aware of the dog's mannerisms. If it is dog aggressive/reactive, the owner would NEVER bring the dog out around other dogs. It's a shame that the irresponsible pit bull owners are making a bad name for the dogs owned by responsible people.
