we hit the mother in april 2010 in my avon raft. obviously the raft doesn't steer as well as those canoes and kayaks. going to the right was not an option as the low water would have torn up the raft. we hit it pretty fast. it threw my 2 sons right out of the boat, and took the oar out of my oarlock, and put 4 inches of water in the boat. all was well and it made for a good story at the campfire that night.

hey good job guys. I used to float the Piney when I was a teenager with my older brother and my dad. it took several floats before we were experienced enough to try the left side. you did great regardless of what some idiots say. hope you keep floating and enjoy it as much as I did.
Hey we were on the Piney about 12 years ago when we lived in AR. We went quite a few times in a 17 foot Old Towne Canoe. It was so awesome. It is more challenging in an open deck boat!
How lame are you to get excited going on the right side of the rock before the mother. Next time post a video of the men on the trip who challenge the mother and go left.
That was over a year ago, our first time on piney and in the middle of January. It was also our third kayaking trip ever and on class III rapids in a sea kayak. Sorry the video isn't hardcore enough for you, but honestly, I don't know how anything could be hardcore enough for you. I mean, you did call out two 17 year old novice kayakers paddling down their first class III, which makes you a bad ass.
