this has got to be one of the best devotion songs of all time. whenever i feel like i'm not connecting with God in the way i should, i'm going to listen to this. this song inspires me in a way very little else does. jesus did all those things for me and this song reminds me of that.
hmm this week i started to read a bible and listen to christian music. i feel much better than before. it's not like i am a good christian im not going to the church and actually im a very bad person bad friend and so on. it was a time when i had great relationship with god but with my lifestyle i lost it all im trying to build those relationship again.. i hope to change my life. First weekend I heard this song was right after the earthquake in Haiti. My friend was giving up her faith because she didn't understand why we deserve nice lives while those in Haiti were suffering. She asked me that question but I couldn't answer it. I prayed to the Lord for help and an answer. That weekend I heard this song and the lyrics more or answered the question perfectly. My friend gave up her faith, though mine grew enormously that week.

Judaism, yes is an older religion. I bet you don't know that Christians could be called Jews. Jesus was a Jew! He was the "Messiah" as the Jews called it before becoming Christians. Some now called Jews never accepted the Christ was the actual Messiah. But we are all able to be a Christian. Gal. 3:26 - 28: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus"

But, it just so happens, Joesph is royal blood also.

First weekend I heard this song was right after the earthquake in Haiti. My friend was giving up her faith because she didn't understand why we deserve nice lives while those in Haiti were suffering. She asked me that question but I couldn't answer it. I prayed to the Lord for help and an answer. That weekend I heard this song and the lyrics more or answered the question perfectly. My friend gave up her faith, though mine grew enormously that week.

Dude, all of you christians are dumber than atheists when it comes to actually KNOWING about RELIGION! Because a religious knowledge test showed that ATHEISTS were the most educated group when it came to religious knowledge which is probably one of the main reasons why they are atheists.

@bbdog141414 it funny you should say that, cuz my sunday school class took that SAME test, and we averaged 20% HIGHER than atheists. God LOVES YOU, He's the only shelter we can trust, He will NEVER leave us OR forsake us. My prayer is that you can see that truth as well.

Judaism, yes is an older religion. I bet you don't know that Christians could be called Jews. Jesus was a Jew! He was the "Messiah" as the Jews called it before becoming Christians. Some now called Jews never accepted the Christ was the actual Messiah. But we are all able to be a Christian. @JesusWorshipRevival theres a reason why we didnt accept jesus as the messiah. first of all the messiah had to be of the line of david, which jesus was not. the messiah also had to be a warrior, which jesus was not. also the messiah needed to free israel from occupation, and all jesus did was get killed by the romans then make a new religion which the romans embraced. so he did the exact opposite. also chrisitianity converts were mostly filthy pagans anyway. originial jews are still jews today.

@ihmen both mary and joeseph were from the line of David. what are you talking about? and Jesus was a warrior, he just fought different wars. He fulfilled all the prophecies (333 of them) that were in the Torah (Old Testament). And I am not familiar with the part about Jesus freeing Israel. Can you back that up somehow?

@JesusWorshipRevival mary was not of the line of david, she was a virgin birth too. go read the gospel of mary. and joseph wasnt even related to jesus. he was just put in charge to look after mary. the line of david means carrying davids Y chromosome. since females dont pass down the Y chromosome theres no way jesus could have been of the line of david. unless the holy ghost went back in time, collected some of davids sperm, then fertilized mary with it. and you ask why us jews dont buy this?

@JesusWorshipRevival joseph did not impregnate mary. mary got impregnated by the holy ghost, so unless the holy ghost had some of david or josephs sperm with him. then jesus did not have davids Y chromosome. jesus shouldnt have had anyones Y chromosome because he was a virgin birth. im sure if the people writing the gospels knew about how genetics work they would have changed the story to fit. but they didnt and they made a mistake which proved jesus couldnt have been the line of david

@ihmen oh, i see what your gettin at. No, he didnt take the sperm from Joesph. He never used "biological means" of reproduction. It was one of the many miricles in this world preformed by God. But since mary was from the royal line of david, she has an X chromosome from David's line. But since the Y chromosome is from God, it has no "line" to follow, making the only line David's line. But, it just so happens, Joesph is royal blood also.

also its very unlikely that mary had davids X chromosome because every daughter would have a 50/50 chance of getting his X chromosome because females have two X chromosomes and its chance that the next daughter will get davids X chromosome and not the other. also we're talking about around 50 generations so that would be a .000000000000008% chance of mary having davids X chromosome.

@JesusWorshipRevival well ive already explained to you how its basically impossible that jesus could have been of the line of david and why us jews dont believe it. but now you've really got to the root of the issue when you say "you need faith to believe it". i agree, because the definition of faith is belief without evidence. so faith (belief without evidence) is required of the jesus story. but for jews, we like to base our beliefs on what is supported by the evidence.

Such a powerful song. It's one of my favorites and everytime I hear it, something in me changes. Something in me knows that no matter what, everything will work out in the end, so long as I leave it in His guiding hands. It's has almost a calming effect on me. I love it :)
