Greetings Brother, great chat! I believe you are on the money. I've had 5 or 6 very close calls including one being brought back from the edge + plenty of journeying that "for me" currently proves the interconnectness of all things, that life "includes" all things and that we are much more than our "meat suits" Soul progression + expansion of God consciousness ring true. The mind is a processor for our experiences that is often best left behind for the vultures (-;
I do agree with reincarnation, for many reasons. 1) it is seen in nature yearly with the coming of new life in spring, 2) Many cultures speak of reincarnation, 3) more and more children are coming out telling about experiences from what they think are their previous lives (and I agree). I too, have had many past life dreams and it DOES help to at least see a SHAMAN or someone who can help with that. At the age of 3, I knew things... that's all I can say.
Most people are scared of death. I do not know what happens when we die, but from what makes sense is that there will not be time when we die. It would just be like going to sleep and waking up. Boom and you are awake again.
Hi Craig, I have had this same discussion with my son many times... There must be some other superior being / scientist / God or whatever you would like to call it involved with our universe.
I also saw a television documentary many years ago where apparently at the point of death of a human being the dead body actually loses a couple of ounces in weight;... should this be true that might well be the spirit / soul leaving the dead body?
Since the physical universe did not exist before the beginning of the universe, then it would have had to have been entirely Quantum, because time does not exist there. Time only existed at the birth of the universe, which it then transformed from entirely Quantum universe to a both Quantum and Classical universe. I wonder if our soul is just used to transfer information from the physical realm back to the Quantum, when we are no longer alive.
I was thinking what if the Grand Consciousness is Quantum, which would make sense because time doesn't exist there and time only means something in the physical realm?!! :D
Craig, what if the only way to transfer information between the "Grand Consciousness" and the physical world is through our bodies??!!! What if our bodies are like some sort of transfer medium between some supreme being and the universe? Maybe the only way is through the human mind and body? If our brains can operate at in both the classical mechanical field and the Quantum Mechanical field at the same time, then this is possibly the way that "Grand Consciousness" can communicate????
You make alot of sense Craig. Maybe when we die our bodies decay into soil and or conscious memories remain in space but in a different realm. Most notably Quantum. Which would possibly allow one to access all knowledge. Since, in the Quantum realm time does not exist. Time does not mean anything to some who is dead:D
@YoungFireStudios I don't practice any particular religion. I don't profess to know anything about what God is or if it exists. I am waiting for proof.
@CraigTube I honestly dont beleive in "religion myself" but a relationship with Christ is all I need. If you are waiting for proof you might want to take a look at this. Im not sure about how you feel about documentaries but as a teenager I can say I hate them hahaha, but this was one that kept my attention the entire time and answered a lot of questions I had. (:
A very interesting theory indeed Craig. I consider my self an Athiest, or at least have in the past, but I honestly think you've changed my opinion. So often it's hard to separate the idea of life after death from religion. Religion is why I'm an Athiest, not the idea of god or life after death. I honestly do think you've given me something to think about.
i see where you're coming from i've been looking into this for about 3 years now from religious aspects and scientific aspects and i think logically you have the same opinion i do. good video but only one complaint. you stopped to think to much. it slowed the video down and no offense in a way kinda got boring after a while. i still watched the whole thing though. good vid overall.
Maybe the soul is made up of the same element (hydrogen) that started the universe. What if we start off as hydrogen (a soul) and then we form into more complex elements to create our physical bodies (matter). We just might be mini universes walking around sentient yet not fully aware of who we are. Microcosm from the macrocosm.
. when people have a stroke only half the person is left because most of the brain has died , so how is it the whole person goes to heaven //////I hope I come back as a Hamster I will have less to think & worry about
@strawwoodclaw The simple answer would be that you are not your brain. Same as YouTube is not in your computer. You've got the hardware (brain) and software (soul), each dependent on each other to render a whole person. YOU are not your meat sack.
Your describe the so called beginning of the universe with so much conviction but there are other ideas on this subject. There are some scientists who don't go for the big bang theory, Geoffrey Burbridge Halton Arp and others question Hubble's conclusions and they have data to back up their ideas. Their theory is that the Universe is eternal and boundless. No beginning No end no outer borders, etc etc. BUT it is constantly creating stars & planets in the manner you describe.
If the complexity of the universe requires a "designer" to explain it then doesn't the designer itself require a designer to create it? Seems to me your argument leads to an infinite regress... If life was designed as a "learning experiance" for the designer to inhabit then "he" is a strange thing indeed. "Lets see what it feels like to be a baby burned to death in a house fire", "Lets see what it feels like to be a guard in a nazi death camp, etc, etc." How could such a thing design the world?
@offramp100 Short answer... The consciousness would not suffer from these events. As far as an infinite regress, it's either that, or there was absolutely nothing, then something came to be from that. That means there must have been something for something to come from. Either that, or that something exists outside of time, and is infinite. Remember, time is only a dimension. If there are dimensions above that, then time is only a direction with no end or beginning, just like space.
Or like Nietszche said time is a circle. An endless loop. Everything in life you will experience again. With nothing new and nothing different. I think its the riddle and the vision the specific passage from This Spoke Zarathustra that talks about this.
He calls this realization the greatest burden. A burden that weighs heavily on him and his subsequent action/inaction. For every moment of joy, pain, sadness and even death he is doomed to repeat endlessly. Sounds like hell!
I like the taowist take on God and the afterlife. I think they just call it "that which is unknowable". If at least not very honest it must be viewed as a great starting point for the species to grow the hell up. As much as every Christian cheeses me off in his certainty, so do athiests in theirs. Truth and knowledge and wisdom begin with "We dont know". From there we can move on somewhere.
I think what youre trying to say is that all forms of existence are manifestations of a greater consciousness and greater intelligence. The one is everything and everything is one type philosophy. I dont agree or disagree. Only that its as likely to be fluke as it is designed. And the diversity is there for the same reason a fear of death is there. Its every living beings instict. To cling to life. Every animals instincts informs it of the alternative and the fear it holds.
@offramp100 You are attempting to understand the Infinite from the narrow limited perception of a human, bringing blame and guilt into the equation. These are human concepts that do not exist without us to project them. The infinite can only be experienced and when we return and try to describe the beauty and wonder that we have seen our words fall short of what we have experienced. You have to experience it, there's no point in describing it to our peers when we come back.
@felixq78: I've had indescribable experiences of beauty and wonder in my life, but just because they were that is no reason for me to think they had anything to do with "God" / a creator of the universe. Why are sublime / extraordinary experiences any more evidence of God than ordinary, mundane, or indeed profoundly unpleasant ones?
You can't ask people to make that leap of faith that you have made. It is unscientific, however I do agree with you that we are eternal.
Everything has consciousness, we ARE consciousness and so is the universe, when our body falls away we are like a drop of water falling back into the ocean, maybe it stays as part of that eternal ocean or it returns to the physical. Science is beginning to uncover these concepts in quantum physics but don't ask us to "believe" that's dogma, the start of trouble
@felixq78 I have some idea what it means to say that you or I or a cat or a rat has consciousness, but no clue what it means to say that a rock, or a glass of water has consciousness Please define your terms clearly.
@offramp100 Every cell in our bodies has consciousness. How do you think your body knows how to heal a cut? If you were brain dead, your body would still heal wounds. Does that not mean that your body is conscious? Rocks, and water, well I can't promise those are conscious, but we are all made of the same stuff as water and rocks.
@CraigTube Certainly wound healing involves complex communication and interaction between various cell types in a creature, "brain dead" or otherwise. Regardless of if we call that a "body consciousness" or not we can understand and describe it as biochemistry. How does it provide evidence of life after death or divine creation of the universe?
I am enlightened...now all I have to do is enjoy this life and make others enjoy it. Because it is why I am here. You are me and I am you. We are one.
continued. I have tricked myself into this human form and tricked myself to find out who we are...all for fun. When I die, I return to myself . I pick a new life to play , experience . Why do I do this? Because I can..I am GOD! Why don't you see a boundary in space? Because I haven't thought of what to put there yet! Don't be afraid of death, there is no death. I am god! Keep on digging for the smallest atom. I already put something there, you would have to look further :)
now people call it grand consiousness. it is just another way to say "I am God". It is the only answer that works. The only one that makes sense. The life we experience now, we created to experience ourselves. To have fun. I made religion to remind myself I am god. I talk and pray to myself to remind myself. I am god. This is the only answer that I can accept.
Craig, when I watch videos of deep sea life, like tubeworms and such that live in blackness on the ocean floor next to volcanic gas vents, I think (if they were as intelligent as we are) what would they think to see an illuminated human diver or submersival that we sent to observe them? I think this is like our existance on the surface of Earth when we look up at the stars. I don't know, is there a parallelism? What do you think?
@svandevort Well, if they were aware of out of water environments, they would probably just think as we do of them, but they are not, so I guess they would see it as a threat and defend themselves from fear of the unknown.
@desterband A divine consciousness would have always had to exist. You see, existence could never not have existed, because even "nothing" exists. Nothing is that which is the absence of something, therefore nothing itself exists. That means that existence exists and always has. Now that we've broken the infinity barrier, it's not hard to believe that consciousness could have always existed too, in the "time" before time, and could create the potential for the big bang.
Yes! you are amazing. You said it in many other ways but in a nutshell "nothing can exist without pre-mind. I believe that matter is always in a state of evolution as is the soul. The universe is trying to understand itself through the life it produces.
You are a thinker and are reaching out and that is the purpose of the soul. Religion is fine, but too tradition can can stop us from reaching out! You achieve wisdom only from reaching out. Great videos!
I respect the fact that you are open minded about this kind of stuff. For example, a lot of people in this world are 100% sure Jesus is the son of God and the Earth is 2000 years old, etc. My main problem in your theory of how life began is when you said a divine being programmed everyone. Who created the God or supreme being? It seems like it can be and endless chains of creators. I believe there had to be something that happened by accident and just appeared.
@Vicodeez What you have to remember is to try and think outside of the framework of time. Time is part of our universe. If there was a "before" then that existence might not have time which would mean either nothing existed, which is impossible, or that something always did. Good observation on your part. Thanks for watching.
@tacticalbarrage I am a YouTube partner. I allow them to put ads with my videos. It's the ads that fund YouTube. Partners make a small profit as well. I bought my kegs, a 20lb co2 tank, and a microphone off the profits.
Everything you are saying is how I live my life. I Believe that the great creator has made me, I will someday leave this place and journey to my next destination. I will see all and know all when I leave this world and I will not fear this. Great videos! Thank you for covering this topic. Peace
Brilliant. You have effectually put many notions I've had for a long into the perfect words. I always feel there's more to this life when I look at multiple people and sense them as different reflections of the same consciousness. Late at night when I drink myself silly and puff a doobie or two i just listen to music and watch the stars. It's just incredible to exist and be grateful for the overwhelming cheers and fears of this world. You should check out Plastic Beach by Gorillaz. Great album.
ur a wonderful philosopher, you brought up some very interesting ideas and i followed you on each one, i think everything u said is very likely congrats
You catch some important points. Especially about engineering of universe.
But you think the Great Consciousness is as small as you ! You think the Great Consciousness's aims are as small as yours. Consciousness as great as engineering universe do not same thing again !!!! Because of this There is no cycle !!! There is no poet who writes SAME POEM again. I will send a new message later. Best wishes.
Congratulations for a great video. I like the way you incorporate all we know about the science beyond creation, plus the religious view. I too believe your theory on life after death. Our bodies will die, but our energy can never be destroyed and must go somewhere. That is a fact.
WE can entertain speculation up until such time as somebody gets actual information. At that point, we have to deal with the facts.
Now according to over 500 eyewitnesses, Jesus Christ came back to life (1 Corinthians 15). Mere speculation is now over. Our question now is, What does the man who rose to eternal life have to say?
"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." Rev. 1:18.
Like you said in the video, why argue religion? I agree.
Instead, what I have read is a historical account. This happened. I don't believe it for "religious" reasons. I believe that the accounts were given with sincerity by men who really saw, with great disappointment, their Lord crucified, and then with incredible amazement, him come back to life. To ignore this account when discussing these matters is negligence. We must accept their testimony or else call them liars and/or deceived.
sorry i ran over again. And great stuff Craig. Not enough of this out there... Maybe pain in the over all scheme doesn't matter so much if we get to learn from it.. but that ends up seeming like a rationalization if you consider the tremendous pain/hardship/unfairness some people suffer. That would get you a full spectrum but it sucks on the individual basis. I hope we are all part of the Big Goo that snaps up all back up into our cozy place after we die. :) Great thinking Craig. Cheers!
I think a good explanation, maybe the only one, to what you said is that the supreme being knows that our bodies are unimportant, and "we" never really die. The killing process you describe happens on a biological level. Maybe the life part is beyond that, on a spiritual level that lives on and on. That's the only logic I can find in all this. Cheers, and thank for your comment.
I wonder why the grand creator would create such selfish beings (us/plants/animals). we all live/survive off of other living beings that don't want to die. Every being in the food chain values its life and fears death but we all kill selfishly to survive. Not a very nice plan for a supreme being. if there is a creator it/he/she has to be either negligent or indifferent regarding our needs & emotions. Maybe its a sadist. I do enjoy eating meat.. but sometimes i feel kind of shitty about it.
ido have a question what about those people who have died and came back to life and said they went to heaven or they were out of their body and were roaming the earth do u think youd have any outlook on that because its been bothering me for a while and if you dont know what im talking about look up people who have died and came back to life so you could get a real depth answer thank you
I have heard of people, my friend's grandmother for one, who died and could see themselves being worked on, and when they were brought back, could repeat some of the things the doctors said during the revival. I heard one claim where the person who died could read a sign that was up high in the room, and behind something so normally you couldn't see it, but the revived person was able to read it during their moments of death. Who knows?
wow i subscribed because i was interested in starting homebrew now im here ... brilliant subject you could go on forever about this with different peoples views etc really enjoyed this vid made me think agree with bits not with others but thats what life is about nice tyo see you end with a beer :)
keep em comin im a new subscriber and still catching up on your vids ..you are what youtube is about thanks so much
Keep more videos, I subscribed. I don't agree on everything but it makes sense to me. Im thinking thats theres no time, theres no death. After you die, theres just another phase or theres just unconsciousness...
I beleive that the universe will at some point contract on itself back into a singularity to go off again in another big bang. This procees will go on forever. At some point the matter which made you in this universe will come togther and make another being in another universe and that being will again be you. Just a thought.
dud u r such a retard u dont evean know what ur talking about. im 18 n ik more than u. n im not that smart. hydregen was not the only thing created by the big bang. n no exploding stars r not life they r unliving things. n the big bag was made by n atom that was here but not here but 2 exlane that 2 u id have 2 get into quantum physics n wit that matter apers n reapers out of know where n we exsit n many difrent universes. u r rong about alot of stuff 2 much 4 me 2 explane 2 u about.
I would have an easier time arguing with you if I could even understand your typing. In fact your comments are not welcome here. You're obviously addicted to text messaging and not mature enough for this discussion.
your 18 ?? my 8 year old nephew spells better and sounds more intelligent than you do. do us all a favor and don't reproduce. although I will agree with one thing you said ... you're not that smart..
Great video Craig, I have been thinking quite a lot about death recently, mostly being frightened of the thought of never existing ever again. I like the idea of having a soul and living the life of another human mostly, I wouldn't want to be an ant or bug. That is weird to think in the past I could have been different organisms or people. This video really made me re-think a lot of things, I thank you, was an awesome 30 minutes spent, rather than doing anything else, just thanks is all.
Well done Craig. I believe you really get the point across without becoming offensive. I 've read most of the previous comments, some I agree with others, not so much. I will say, being a police officer, I see human beings at their worst. So I will say, we as humans, really act inferior to other species when it comes to the treatment of one another. I don't see another species killing and torturing itself with such brutalities as we humans inflict on one another, for no reason at all.
while me and my friend were playing with a ouija board, moments later my dog was barking and I heard banging noises from my lawnmower and I looked but nobody was there. It happened forseveral days. it seems like the demon was trying to enter my house but couldnt because my house was blessed by a priest.
and another was experienced by my neighbor that he was told that his bike is going to get stolen and it did. the next day someone stole his bike.
I disagree with AlcoholLevel. The odds of DNA arranging itself to form complex designs like eyes, ears, stomachs, nervous systems, brains, hearts, ect, and then assembling all these systems into creatures with individual consciousness is ZERO. If things were left up to chance, lifeforms would end up being nothing more than inanimate blobs of protoplasm.
At 9:10 you ask, "does that not sound like life to you?" I say unequivocally NO. That isn't life. The processes you're describing are perfectly normal reactions of the elements and the forces governing them. When Newton explained how an apple fell from the tree did he try to divine life from it ? Of course not.. but what you're trying to do is bring life from the singularity or a pulsar or the combination of elements.
You spend quite a bit of time pondering how life could be... as if there were something magical to the process but I have quite the opposite view. There is nothing unique about it at all.. the combination of amino acids that give rise to DNA is no more interesting then stalactites or how a fusion reaction in a star produces ENERGY.
I don't know if it's been put to a test but I would bet that the formation of DNA and rise to life is just as normal as rocks are formed and pulsars give signals
Of course there is a God but He/She are completely unrepresented on Earth. We are trapped in linear time. We are supposed to move in and out of linear time, at will. We will eventually be able to take up or put down our bodies, at will. We will eventually be able to create whatever we need by willing it. For now we are imprisoned on Earth but this is coming to an end. Each of us was captured and imprisoned but we will eventually regain our memory and know the whole story.
Our bodies are biological computers where we take up temporary residence. Earth is the exception and not the norm in the universe. We live in a prison that is called planet Earth. Matter is 5% of the stuff in the universe. The rest is energy, dark energy and dark matter. We don't understand the universe because we live where we lack perspective, namely, we are inside the deception. We will understand, but only after we get out of the illusion. We are part of The One soul. Peace and love. Ciao.
I think your are arguing that becaouse, we breath air the sky was formed. I think we breath air because the sky formed. if the sky were difrent we would be diffrent. Who is to say that Plank scale physics arent also a randomised combination that also sets itself in difrent arangments. This is our particular combination.
Very interesting, I disagree with several things like souls, biblical accuracy and a supreme designer. But this was a reasonably intelligent perspective and well delivered. I have often thought about the universe being self aware through us and its kind of true and very weird.
Who made the supreme designers world?
I am 100% sure you are wrong about souls and 'designers', but this is interesting in a sci-fi weird movie kind of way.
Just to touch on your one question, the designer's "world" would be outside of time, so it could exist in an infinite manner; always and forever. There would be no beginning or end, before or after, it just "is". I would like to know how a universe could begin to exist without prier existence for it to exist in to provide the cause, energy, or any other means to come into existence. Either existence exists, or it doesn't. It can't simple start to exist without existence in the first place.
the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.
Dam Craig I wish that we lived next door or something because we could talk about this for hours. I love this video. I do disagree with you on a few points , but I can't get into them because I'm too buzzed and my arguments would suck lol . I'm glad that you decided to merge the two channels though. best thing you could have done . five stars!!!!
I like to think that it's our limitations that will make us appreciate not having any. Great video. Definitely worth thinking about. Thanks for kickin' ass Craig!
I wonder why is there no conscious memory of past life events. Maybe our past lives are strictly subconscious but if we are always learning and improving subconsciously, then why are we still so crappy at being decent people. Seems like an awful lot of lives lived, scenarios played out, and lessons learned throughout the history of mankind to still be taking baby steps at becoming decent people. Every human child has to be taught (or RE-taught) how to behave, treat people, etc.
There is an episode of Star Trek TNG called, "Cause & Effect", where the crew were trapped in a time loop that repeated every 12 hours or so. At first they felt a sense of deja vou each time they repeated the loop, but after a while, they started to figure out what was happening. They had no memories of the past loops, but they know it was happening. They ended up sending themselves a coded message into the next loop, which gave them a clue how to get out of the time loop. You should watch it.
RE: There is an episode of Star Trek TNG called, "Cause & Effect" -
Is that the episode where the officers are playing poker and Data eventually senses where the loop may begin in time and fixes the deck of cards to notify himself of the loop's start?
There also seems to be a a lot of variation in spiritual growth among different people. If we are all part of the same eternal collective consciousness then why aren't we all equally "grown" and informed on a spiritual level.
We were. Thousands of years ago, before religion, we simply worshiped what we thought was amazing, like the sun. We've always known, or at least wanted to believe, deep in our hearts that there must be a cause or creator of the universe, and that there had to be more than just this life of ours. But society, and the leaders there of use fear to control us, and that involves stripping us of the confort of knowing that there's more. If we're afraid all the time, we'll do what "they" want.
Craig - Fascinating way of tying everything together from star formation to life. I agree with your ripple effect on life also. If we all realized the grandness of it all maybe we wouldn't be so vicious of each other every day. Please drink your beer faster next time :) One question, what is your theory on dark matter and energy and how does it tie in?
...and I think that in most cases, the animal kingdom is much more successful than humans. At lease they kill each other for food and survival. We kill each other for greed and power. It wasn't an act of survival that killed 3000 people on 911. If you want an example of a sucessful species, look at ants, or bees. No money needed. Everyone acts for the betterment of the whole.
When a star is dying, it supernovas or swells into a death throw. Maybe that's what we're doing; maxing out as a society or human "element." Maybe we're getting close to our "iron." Think of the life cycle ripple theme.
The length of the vid was fine - it allowed you & us a chance to explore the topic more fully than a shorter one. Interesting ideas Craig...plus thanks to you it's chiken soup for tea tomorrow night :D
Interesting video Craig. Much of it makes sense. I won't agree or disagree simply because we will never know the truth. But explanations like yours make much more sense then some of the rubbish religion brainwashes people with. Creationism which seems to be growing in the US is probably the worse one of all. I don't know how people can believe that!
Unfortunately you will get negative comments from people who have been brainwashed/programmed to think a certain way and won't be able to clearly think about what you have said unbiasedly. I say to all youtubers who have been offended by Craig's comments look at yourself before you start ridiculing somebody else. Everybody is entitled to their own thoughts and opinions and they don't need to harrassed for thinking differently.
What you are saying sounds like the basic premise of Hinduism and what the Bavagahd gita says. But my question is, who the hell would want to be a cockroach? There may be something more to it than a higher consciousness being bored. It may have something to do with our attitudes in our previous existence. Also, I guess the soul of Adolf Hitler and Jeffrey Dahmer have a lot of improving to do.
You don't want religious discussion which speaks of Life after Death, but you want to put your points across as to what you THINK life after death is. And because others may share your thoughts, you think you're on to something. GO BACK TO MAKING YOUR BEER MAN!
....Because I think that religion is a distorted, man made, controlling concept. I think what comes from the heart makes more sense, especially when others share the same deep down feeling. MY USERS ASKED ME TO DO THIS, SO I'M DOING IT. :)
The Bible is RIGHT! We want to exclude heaven and hell, and put our own spin on it. Christ was the ONLY person in history to claim deity. Buddha didn't, Islam didn't, Confucius didn't. The Bible is historically accurate, and there were witnesses to the resurrection. Their is only ONE life my friend.
I believe the end of the world is a personal thing when yourself as an individual die then that is the end of youre world. I think we could not percieve what the universe actually is as a whole or even partly, but the universe wastes nothing all matter becomes different types of matter , we are all made of star dust and we will all become star dust again.
a buddy and i had this disscusion one night and hed said this to me" i believe what sience says to me about evoulution and but what i cant wrap my head around the fact that the world just happend that is there answere to how the universe started. i just cant buy that. i dont believe in god or allah or jesus or what have you but somthing started this." so this is what he said to me and i agree until science give me a good answere other than it just happend sorry but i gotta disagree with you
Wow thats strang, I just drank my last stout beer ( that I have brewed) with a glass that looks just like yours as I was watching your video! ( something cosmic going on here Craig.) Scientist say the universe will keep speeding up untill matter flys apart. The bible says that Yewah will burn up all matter and recreate it in a perfect spirital continuum for saved conscious beings with non decaying matter. While other conscious beings will pay for their spirital crimes.
There is a difference between religion and spirituality. You don't have to be religious to believe in a cause of the universe. Reality and religion don't have to mix.
When you make a statement saying that X causes Y, or X means Y, you are making a hypothesis that is as testable as any hypothesis put forward by an Oxford Professor. You use testable evidence and theories to test the hypothesis and say if it is likely to be true or not. You can't just say something sounds nice and thus it must be true.
But you can say something sounds nice and thus it MIGHT be true. I don't think I ever said that this idea is the truth. Who am I do say what is true in this case. No one can do that. That's why we discuss it, like I did in the video.
Well, the flying spaghetti monster, the invisible pink unicorn, Aphrodite and Ra MIGHT be true, but that doesn't mean they are as valid as a solution which survives more than coincidental scrutiny. If a hypothesis can not be easily altered to change it to fix new evidence or observations, and is testable time after time than it is more likely to be valid than one which can doesnt stand up to scrutiny, so is simply changed on a whim to make it conform. Not attacking free speech, just taking part.
Hey listen, I'm just throwing it out there. I never claimed any provable facts, or said that my ideas are absolutely the truth. These are ideas toward a concept we may never understand. If you subject them to your relentless logic, they are dead, however, there is not always a need to do that with everything everyone has to say. These are just my beliefs and need not be proven in order to be good, creative ideas.
Please guys, forget about humanity. It's the universe we're talking about. The universe is full of life. Let's not use our planet as an example for the meaning of it.
You are basing the intention of all life in the universe on the behavior of humans on earth at this time. Very poor representation of the intention of the universe. Our current state is but a cog in the machine of what life is supposed to be. May I say that at this point, we are a failed species, a disgrace to life.
A week after my Dad died in 2005, my wife saw a shadow figure in the bedroom. She had never saw anything like it in her life. She knew it was him, just by the feeling. 2 months later, she saw the same thing, and had the same feeling. No fear, just love. After I told my family that Dad was safe and happy, she never saw it again. This is a real experience in my home. My wife never lies. Beat that.
Craig when I lost an uncle in 1998 and my gran within 2 weeks of each other me and my father heard a voice "is that Ian" it can not be explained but how can 2 people hear the same thing at the same time! some things are just unexplained
I'm just trying to entertain the idea that through deductive reasoning, it seems like there's more than what some think, and you need not be religious to believe in more.
Greetings Brother, great chat! I believe you are on the money. I've had 5 or 6 very close calls including one being brought back from the edge + plenty of journeying that "for me" currently proves the interconnectness of all things, that life "includes" all things and that we are much more than our "meat suits" Soul progression + expansion of God consciousness ring true. The mind is a processor for our experiences that is often best left behind for the vultures (-;

GaunletofDestruction 4 months ago
Since the physical universe did not exist before the beginning of the universe, then it would have had to have been entirely Quantum, because time does not exist there. Time only existed at the birth of the universe, which it then transformed from entirely Quantum universe to a both Quantum and Classical universe. I wonder if our soul is just used to transfer information from the physical realm back to the Quantum, when we are no longer alive.
GaunletofDestruction 4 months ago
I was thinking what if the Grand Consciousness is Quantum, which would make sense because time doesn't exist there and time only means something in the physical realm?!! :D
GaunletofDestruction 4 months ago
Craig, what if the only way to transfer information between the "Grand Consciousness" and the physical world is through our bodies??!!! What if our bodies are like some sort of transfer medium between some supreme being and the universe? Maybe the only way is through the human mind and body? If our brains can operate at in both the classical mechanical field and the Quantum Mechanical field at the same time, then this is possibly the way that "Grand Consciousness" can communicate????
GaunletofDestruction 4 months ago
I wonder if what you describe as "Grand Conscious" can be experienced only when the soul or conscious is no longer part of the "physical world"?
GaunletofDestruction 4 months ago
You make alot of sense Craig. Maybe when we die our bodies decay into soil and or conscious memories remain in space but in a different realm. Most notably Quantum. Which would possibly allow one to access all knowledge. Since, in the Quantum realm time does not exist. Time does not mean anything to some who is dead:D

BUT it is constantly creating stars & planets in the manner you describe.
felixq78 1 year ago
If the complexity of the universe requires a "designer" to explain it then doesn't the designer itself require a designer to create it? Seems to me your argument leads to an infinite regress... If life was designed as a "learning experiance" for the designer to inhabit then "he" is a strange thing indeed. "Lets see what it feels like to be a baby burned to death in a house fire", "Lets see what it feels like to be a guard in a nazi death camp, etc, etc." How could such a thing design the world?
offramp100 1 year ago

Sounds like hell!
outofslumber 11 months ago
@CraigTube
From there we can move on somewhere.
outofslumber 11 months ago
@CraigTube
Every animals instincts informs it of the alternative and the fear it holds.
outofslumber 11 months ago
@offramp100 You are attempting to understand the Infinite from the narrow limited perception of a human, bringing blame and guilt into the equation. These are human concepts that do not exist without us to project them. The infinite can only be experienced and when we return and try to describe the beauty and wonder that we have seen our words fall short of what we have experienced. You have to experience it, there's no point in describing it to our peers when we come back.
felixq78 1 year ago
@felixq78: I've had indescribable experiences of beauty and wonder in my life, but just because they were that is no reason for me to think they had anything to do with "God" / a creator of the universe. Why are sublime / extraordinary experiences any more evidence of God than ordinary, mundane, or indeed profoundly unpleasant ones?
offramp100 1 year ago
You can't ask people to make that leap of faith that you have made. It is unscientific, however I do agree with you that we are eternal.
Everything has consciousness, we ARE consciousness and so is the universe, when our body falls away we are like a drop of water falling back into the ocean, maybe it stays as part of that eternal ocean or it returns to the physical. Science is beginning to uncover these concepts in quantum physics but don't ask us to "believe" that's dogma, the start of trouble
felixq78 1 year ago
@felixq78 I have some idea what it means to say that you or I or a cat or a rat has consciousness, but no clue what it means to say that a rock, or a glass of water has consciousness Please define your terms clearly.
offramp100 1 year ago
@offramp100 Every cell in our bodies has consciousness. How do you think your body knows how to heal a cut? If you were brain dead, your body would still heal wounds. Does that not mean that your body is conscious? Rocks, and water, well I can't promise those are conscious, but we are all made of the same stuff as water and rocks.
CraigTube 1 year ago
@CraigTube Certainly wound healing involves complex communication and interaction between various cell types in a creature, "brain dead" or otherwise. Regardless of if we call that a "body consciousness" or not we can understand and describe it as biochemistry. How does it provide evidence of life after death or divine creation of the universe?

I already put something there, you would have to look further :)
edwardtang1977 1 year ago
now people call it grand consiousness. it is just another way to say "I am God". It is the only answer that works. The only one that makes sense. The life we experience now, we created to experience ourselves. To have fun. I made religion to remind myself I am god. I talk and pray to myself to remind myself. I am god. This is the only answer that I can accept.
edwardtang1977 1 year ago
Craig, when I watch videos of deep sea life, like tubeworms and such that live in blackness on the ocean floor next to volcanic gas vents, I think (if they were as intelligent as we are) what would they think to see an illuminated human diver or submersival that we sent to observe them? I think this is like our existance on the surface of Earth when we look up at the stars. I don't know, is there a parallelism? What do you think?
svandevort 1 year ago
@svandevort Well, if they were aware of out of water environments, they would probably just think as we do of them, but they are not, so I guess they would see it as a threat and defend themselves from fear of the unknown.

desterband 1 year ago
@desterband A divine consciousness would have always had to exist. You see, existence could never not have existed, because even "nothing" exists. Nothing is that which is the absence of something, therefore nothing itself exists. That means that existence exists and always has. Now that we've broken the infinity barrier, it's not hard to believe that consciousness could have always existed too, in the "time" before time, and could create the potential for the big bang.

Vicodeez 1 year ago
@Vicodeez What you have to remember is to try and think outside of the framework of time. Time is part of our universe. If there was a "before" then that existence might not have time which would mean either nothing existed, which is impossible, or that something always did. Good observation on your part. Thanks for watching.

He's spoken. We can add nothing.
MackQuigleyVids 1 year ago
Did you hear him speak, or are you just relying on the book? Speculation is NOT over.
CraigTube 1 year ago
Like you said in the video, why argue religion? I agree.
Instead, what I have read is a historical account. This happened. I don't believe it for "religious" reasons. I believe that the accounts were given with sincerity by men who really saw, with great disappointment, their Lord crucified, and then with incredible amazement, him come back to life. To ignore this account when discussing these matters is negligence. We must accept their testimony or else call them liars and/or deceived.
MackQuigleyVids 1 year ago
sorry i ran over again. Cheers!
eledsor17 1 year ago
I think a good explanation, maybe the only one, to what you said is that the supreme being knows that our bodies are unimportant, and "we" never really die. The killing process you describe happens on a biological level. Maybe the life part is beyond that, on a spiritual level that lives on and on. That's the only logic I can find in all this. Cheers, and thank for your comment.
CraigTube 1 year ago
I wonder why the grand creator would create such selfish beings (us/plants/animals). we all live/survive off of other living beings that don't want to die. Every being in the food chain values its life and fears death but we all kill selfishly to survive. Not a very nice plan for a supreme being. if there is a creator it/he/she has to be either negligent or indifferent regarding our needs & emotions. Maybe its a sadist. I do enjoy eating meat.. but sometimes i feel kind of shitty about it.

78recordrepair 2 years ago
At 9:10 you ask, "does that not sound like life to you?" I say unequivocally NO. That isn't life. The processes you're describing are perfectly normal reactions of the elements and the forces governing them. When Newton explained how an apple fell from the tree did he try to divine life from it ? Of course not.. but what you're trying to do is bring life from the singularity or a pulsar or the combination of elements.
That's not life, those are forces of nature.
AlcoholLevel 2 years ago

Each of us was captured and imprisoned but we will eventually regain our memory and know the whole story.
rollsthepaul 2 years ago
Our bodies are biological computers where we take up temporary residence. Earth is the exception and not the norm in the universe. We live in a prison that is called planet Earth. Matter is 5% of the stuff in the universe. The rest is energy, dark energy and dark matter. We don't understand the universe because we live where we lack perspective, namely, we are inside the deception. We will understand, but only after we get out of the illusion. We are part of The One soul. Peace and love. Ciao.

TheSabbathBreaker 2 years ago
Just to touch on your one question, the designer's "world" would be outside of time, so it could exist in an infinite manner; always and forever. There would be no beginning or end, before or after, it just "is". I would like to know how a universe could begin to exist without prier existence for it to exist in to provide the cause, energy, or any other means to come into existence. Either existence exists, or it doesn't. It can't simple start to exist without existence in the first place.

Awesome. Sounds right up my alley and I bet an episode like that would go perfect with a homebrew!! Talked me into it!! :) Cheers!

RE: There is an episode of Star Trek TNG called, "Cause & Effect" -
Is that the episode where the officers are playing poker and Data eventually senses where the loop may begin in time and fixes the deck of cards to notify himself of the loop's start?
floodtube1 2 years ago
That's the one. It's the first episode I ever showed my young son, and he's hooked on Star Trek with a fever.

There also seems to be a a lot of variation in spiritual growth among different people. If we are all part of the same eternal collective consciousness then why aren't we all equally "grown" and informed on a spiritual level.
eledsor17 2 years ago
If we're afraid all the time, we'll do what "they" want.

yo craig a lot of what you are getting into here is what is commonly referred to as the collective unconscious. look it up, i think you'll dig it

Hi Craig
You said you didn't want any religious comments / answers.
I appreciate you have your views and favour some beliefs over other beliefs.
I am not religious. I am a believer, but in a relationship with God - not a religion.. So I hope that loopholes me from commenting.
The end of your video seems to favour the idea of God.
You know the universe has a beginning and we have a soul. I believe that too.
Before creation there must be a creator.

dig it man, dig it... you've come a long way since that discussion over skype a few years back. :)

...and I think that in most cases, the animal kingdom is much more successful than humans.

Interesting perspective on life!

Watch this youtube video, Hindu Concept of the Beginning and End of Universe, featuring Carl Sagan and you will see the similarity.

Of course you realize that I've never seen this video. But I'm going to watch it now. :)
CraigTube 2 years ago
What you are saying sounds like the basic premise of Hinduism and what the Bavagahd gita says. But my question is, who the hell would want to be a cockroach? There may be something more to it than a higher consciousness being bored. It may have something to do with our attitudes in our previous existence. Also, I guess the soul of Adolf Hitler and Jeffrey Dahmer have a lot of improving to do.

You don't want religious discussion which speaks of Life after Death, but you want to put your points across as to what you THINK life after death is. And because others may share your thoughts, you think you're on to something. GO BACK TO MAKING YOUR BEER MAN!
darkvader47 2 years ago
....Because I think that religion is a distorted, man made, controlling concept.

Their is only ONE life my friend.
darkvader47 2 years ago

While other conscious beings will pay for their spirital crimes.
solarwind40 2 years ago
using your logic, couldn't the creation of the universe be because it had to potential to exist?
a grand being that was able to create such a universe as you've described sounds a lot like intelligent design, thus how can you not be religious?
until life is defined, no one will know.
very thought provoking video. thanks
kumquatsta 2 years ago
There is a difference between religion and spirituality. You don't have to be religious to believe in a cause of the universe. Reality and religion don't have to mix.
CraigTube 2 years ago
When you make a statement saying that X causes Y, or X means Y, you are making a hypothesis that is as testable as any hypothesis put forward by an Oxford Professor. You use testable evidence and theories to test the hypothesis and say if it is likely to be true or not. You can't just say something sounds nice and thus it must be true.
kyral210 2 years ago
But you can say something sounds nice and thus it MIGHT be true. I don't think I ever said that this idea is the truth. Who am I do say what is true in this case. No one can do that. That's why we discuss it, like I did in the video.
CraigTube 2 years ago
Well, the flying spaghetti monster, the invisible pink unicorn, Aphrodite and Ra MIGHT be true, but that doesn't mean they are as valid as a solution which survives more than coincidental scrutiny. If a hypothesis can not be easily altered to change it to fix new evidence or observations, and is testable time after time than it is more likely to be valid than one which can doesnt stand up to scrutiny, so is simply changed on a whim to make it conform. Not attacking free speech, just taking part.
kyral210 2 years ago
Hey listen, I'm just throwing it out there. I never claimed any provable facts, or said that my ideas are absolutely the truth. These are ideas toward a concept we may never understand. If you subject them to your relentless logic, they are dead, however, there is not always a need to do that with everything everyone has to say. These are just my beliefs and need not be proven in order to be good, creative ideas.

Please guys, forget about humanity. It's the universe we're talking about. The universe is full of life. Let's not use our planet as an example for the meaning of it.
CraigTube 2 years ago
You are basing the intention of all life in the universe on the behavior of humans on earth at this time. Very poor representation of the intention of the universe. Our current state is but a cog in the machine of what life is supposed to be. May I say that at this point, we are a failed species, a disgrace to life.

Stars only burn up to iron, the other elements are made by a supernova. Iv'e seen some youtube clips of ghost, some not many look to be real.

Unfortunately you can't chose your reality. A nice idea is nice, but that doesn't mean that the flying teapot actually exists.
kyral210 2 years ago
I'm just trying to entertain the idea that through deductive reasoning, it seems like there's more than what some think, and you need not be religious to believe in more.
