To rant is to "shout and complain angrily at length." What sets apart Cong. Escudero from other politicians who, as you say, "rant," is that (1) he hardly raises his voice or loses his temper, (2) he sticks to the issues and does not engage in ad hominem arguments that do not strengthen his case. If the media gravitate to him, it's because he gets his point across clearly and logically, without the benefit of grandstanding.

would it matter? in fact I admire none. all politicians in this election 2007 are implementing the just-like-any-other-dumb-ass-p­olitician campaign method. and i dont; blame them coz it works on you and the masses.. which is a smart move on the candidate's part. i just think that people in this country are too dumb so politicians like escudero can't play a serious mind game.
