  • iron maiden + metallica + pink floyd = Dream Theater

  • I think Dream Theater is one of the only bands that deserves to cover this amazing musical achievement. So many bands exist that don't even deserve to say the name Pink Floyd let alone cover their music, but Dream Theater, they did it well.

  • I love Pink Floyd, but I have to say, as a big DT fan as well, they do a spectacular job of covering DSOTM. I want this DVD now

  • Its so amazing seeing Dream Theater cover Pink Floyd... need I say more?? this was amazing..

  • Good cover ^^

  • they are playing better than Pink Floyd...

  • @portnoyere Get the fuck off youtube....

  • @latuea well they ARE better...

  • @omri7642 There is a reason why they are actually covering an entire fucking floyd album. Its not about skill or whatever. we all know petrucci can shred the shit out of any guitar and mike can pound the crap out of the drums. Its about showing a little respect. Nobody can play anything better than the original. it shouldn't even be fucking considered. ESPECIALLY if its PINK FUCKING FLOYD

  • What a song .. I love it

There Is no dark side of the moon really

matter of fact it's all dark

  • everyone feels the need to cover Pink Floyd, from local school bands to Dream Theater simply because Pink Floyd is THE band:D

  • If this is the same concert as on the DVD (Hammersmith Apollo 2005), then I was there! It was an awesome show!

  • i saw all the songs .. is just amazing ... ok it's not Pink Floyd but they did a fucking great job covering the entire album

  • Dream Theater bores me sometimes, but they're covers are nothing short of amazing.

  • After watching the entire DSOTM cover, two words kept coming to mind. musicianship and taste. Portnoy could have nailed some progressive metal licks in there. Petrucci sounded just like Gilmour if Gilmour played an Ernie Ball. Top notch cover set by a top notch band.

  • CHECK OUT THE FLAMING LIPS VERSION OF DARK SIDE IT IS AS EPIC AS ITS ORIGINAL

  • oh how i wish i was at this concert...

  • THIS IS MUSIC....something that is technically basic and that most of the musicians can play but I think nobody could have composed except Pink Floyd...Dream Theater, being hard working ant talented musicians, had no problem playing this album in it's entirety but I cried(being a grown man!!haha) seeing Mike Portnoy realizing what they had acomplished and let a tear or two himself...WOW

  • OMFG. What an amazing piece of band. Freaking beautiful

  • oh yeah!!! that girl also was on "Through her eyes". or atleast live. I was wondering why she looked and sounded so familiar. great song, great singer there... awesome dark side of the moon tribute

  • Dream Theater is one of the most talented bands in the world, today!!! They are fan-fucking-tastic, & I'm going to see them again, in 5 days!!!!!!!! Seattle venue.

  • Theresa Thomison is an awesome soprano singer

  • Dream Theater is just fucking mind blowing

  • Good Dream, the one who will see you both and we love them both, the only option as I love Pink as my life itself!

  • AMAZING, from one of the best cd albums in the history of music

  • You guys have great voices and great music, fabulous tributes, YOU ROCK! I LOVE YOU!!! :- )

  • damn michelle obama can sing

  • Is this on DVD somewhere???

  • I just listened to this simultaneously with the original DSOTM track and when listining together I had trouble hearing the differences because it blended together so well. Long Live DT and PF!

  • One of the best Progressive metal/rock bands playing one of the best Progressive rock albums of an amazing band, Pink Floyd. If Roger or David were playing with them this would be an orgasm of awesome. Still they did a very good job with it. A very very good job.

  • You guys have wonderfully covered "PINK FLOYD" except Comfortably numb. Still u guys are awesome in every other song.

  • Funny how you talk about how great the members of PF were while misspelling their names...

  • im a stoner wat can i say.....

  • @pinkfloyd613 I'm friends with plenty of stoners and most of them write without faults, let alone misspell their heroes' names.

    But yeah. Whatever.

  • awesome dude , when i listen to eclipse i cry for syd

  • when dream does a cover for a band, u can imagine how much great that band would b...

    hail PINK FLOYD!

  • this band does this whole album perfectly. It's almost as if they are pink floyd!

  • Yes!!

  • Good cover. Nothing more needs to be said

  • It's good to see how these guys respect a band like Pink Floyd. Peace.

  • I think octavarium is the "dark side of the moon" of dream theater

  • the octavarium song... the album is scene from a memory or six degrees of inner turblence (cd 2)

  • what about A Change of Seasons? :D

  • It's a masterpiece with no doubt...but octavarium is the best

  • A Change of Seasons is great, but doesn't looks like The Dark Side of the Moon

  • @YSiLvErY i think octavarium is the beginning of the decadence of DT..

  • @Mast3rchief

I have to disagree, even if I love the Images & Words times I think octavarium is an amazing album

  • @Mast3rchief SC is not a good DT albukm, but BCaSL is quite awesome, especially having The Shattered Fortress and The Best of Times. But hey, you'll think Octavarium is the sign of decadence it's because Octavarium(the song) itself is such an epic.

  • this woman can sing and dream theater can play!!!

  • This song gives me chills, amazing cover.

Thank you so much for all of these videos. This concert was truly amazing

  • fucking goddamn amazing AMAZING.

  • OK, I'm tired of watching all this on YouTube. I'm gonna buy the DVD. I have to have it original. It's amazing.

  • Same here :)

  • Also, read the fucking comments against Dream Theater... and Theresa Thompson... the DVD it's 10 times better than this... and with the bonus tracks...

  • @Senuf What DVD is it? Name???

  • @wrath666japel

Well, just do a search, like +"Dream Theater" +"dark side" +dvd).

The DVD is called "Dark Side Of The Moon", like..., well, like Pink Floyd's album.

    Ta-da!

  • @Senuf thanx bro

  • @Senuf Good idea!

  • @Senuf Dude. Is there a DVD?! I wanna haz it ^^

  • Two BEST :-) Pink Floyd and the Dream... Yeah!!!

  • all the way brother!

  • SIMPLEMENTE MARAVILLOSO

  • Awesome cover.

  • LA CAGÓ.... IMPRESIONANTE!

  • They just love Music. They love Pink Floyd and they tribute them with this live with all their love and respect. Can't understand it? If i could, i would do exactly the same, with Pink Floyd, Queen, Dream Theater and so many other bands... They can, they do it, and they enjoy it.

  • Thumb up. Exactly my thought. I have been a big fan of PF for more than 30 years already, and when a GREAT band (like DT) does something like this, with this level of dignity, respect, human emotion, talent and final result, how can I be anything but happy? I deeply enjoy these PF covers by DT. They're awesome, no less than that. That a great band chooses PF to cover speaks well of them and of PF, and no one's comparing. This is not for comparing, it's just for enjoying (sorry for my english).

  • despite from not being a fan of dream theater, I must respect them for covering classic albums, it's trully respectful.

  • They already have. ;)

Better check out first the band you're critizicing, fella.

  • Some of you guys keep on criticizing all kinds of covers. So bands nowadays cannot just take someone else's song and play it live? No, they have to improve it or change it to fit their own musical style... but then WTF? Too many rock bands playing oldies? Or too many Malmsteen wannabes playing classic music with a speedmetal drum backing? Seriously, if it sounds great, it is a musical success, what the hell if it has been covered a thousand times in a million styles by a billion different bands.

  • good good good perfect fucking cover this band is amazing!!!!!!!!

  • whats this for a dvd

  • Wow! They have their own essence. It's like discovering a whole other dimension of all the PF songs. They as PF bring chill down my spine. Thanks guys.

  • This suits Labries voice much better than the other Floyd songs they covered.

  • people are that she is soloing the whole time but shes great

  • she solos on the album too.

  • the girl shouldnt be in there in the beginning she tries to solo the whole time

  • ya RayGun1band...have you heard the original song?

  • of coursei have or else i wouldnt have said anything

  • wow!! it's amazing!! perfect!! if pink floyd see it, maybe, they're very pleased.

  • Holy shit. That ending sent shivers down my spine. An extraordinary band covering an legendary band. Thank you gasol777 for the upload. One of the best.

  • the best floyd tribute i ever saw.

  • it seriously is.

  • LMAO at how myung walks off at 2:24

  • For this special song, just Waters voice and emotion suites perfect...and bass for sure. Just Roger Waters can do it.

  • a teared up a little...

the original is so amazing and DT playing it live is just so great. the cover is awesome. it just shows how cool they are to pay such homage to one of their influences like that.

  • i love how John Myung just walks off at the end before james is even done talking. hes all like FUCK THIS im gonna play some more bass

  • Time to practice!!! LOL

  • Haha, it was a fake ending, the other band members walked off just a few seconds after he did'

  • awesome album covered by an awesome band!! i wanna see them cover "moving Pictures" or "fragile" next

  • Oh, God, that would be awesome. But you know DT. If Portnoy say "Hey, what if we cover fragile?", the others would say. "Yeah, great, we'll be ready for a show in 24 hours!"

  • Dream Theater deserves massive respect. What they did by replicating The Dark Side of the Moon was a huge sign of respect for Pink Floyd..one of the best bands in history!

  • Who the hell said DT sucks they are the damn best band alive here now in 2008! they were one of the best abnds back hten coz there were so many good bands they are now the best band alive!Portnoy rocks!labrie rocks!Myung rocks!JOrdan rocks!Petrucci rocks! whoever disagrees with me you are probably some fan of the backstreet boys!

  • As much as I agree with you, I have to ask you if you realize how stupid your comment makes you look?

  • i love dt but there are reasons why people don't like them, some bad some good. It all has to do with prog and its tendency to be overblown and overdone to the point where it loses its ability to make good actual songs and sticks to merely showing off skills. The beauty of Dream Theater is it its ability to provide both amazing technical skills as well as create amazing songs. That is a trait that not every prog band has.

  • I think I have only heard one Dream theatre song ever and I cannot remember it at all but this is a good cover if you ask me.

  • There is no dark side of the moon really. As a matter of fact, it's all dark.

  • Ha! Ha! Ha!

Were is that from? It sounds so familar!

  • People only think this soudns bad because its impossible to top Pink Floyd's performance. You could be dring a corvette, but its gonna seem weak if you have a lambo next to you.

  • I'm not the biggest fan of DT in the world but whoever says they suck for WHATEVER reason is a fucking retard.

  • this cover is probably only for fans. DT is to hard to understand for a normal person.

  • so you are special because you like dream theater? it doesn't take alot to like a band.

  • who is tht female thts doin the vocals?

  • This is an incredible cover, almost as good as Any Colour You Like. Stop bashing DT you idiots.

  • Has everyone missed the point entirely? This is not about who's better, PF or DT, it's about some truly great musicians (whether you like their style or not) paying a tribute to some other truly great musicians (whether you like their style or not). Can't we all just get along?

  • why does it say "pink floyd cover" this is dream theater and pink floyd did it originally. dream theater's okay but pink floyd is absolutely amazing

  • Love music all!!

  • You're an idiot. Listen to the album without doing anything else, pay attention to it, understand it. The backup vocals are a vital part of dark side.

  • I think, that DT is just just perfect band. I can't describe it...it's just great...:)

  • i hate DT's leading vocals. but i really like this version of Eclipse

  • I do believe pink floyd is unbeatable, but i think DT did an amazing job in most of the songs.

I get a little upset when i read comments like "stupid metalheads they don't aprecciate music" because that is just not right. I am not a metalhead, and yet i can understand the magic of this and all of the covers of this show. You should think about it.

  • DREAM THEATER ARE SIMPLY GODS!!!

  • Aaaaaa so awsome!!!

  • Not many times would I say - WOW! I saw Pink Floyd perform this 30 years ago and was pretty much amazed at how a rock band could play a complete piece of work without flaw. DT is the only band I think can pull this off all the way through. I was so very glad Petrucci restrained himself; Gilmour isn't a crash and dive player. Myung, Rudess and Portnoy were there but Labrie didn't quite cut it. Hey, it was a cover, right?

  • good but not exelent, bescause play pink floyd, thi only band can play pink floyd and noy sound bad is PINK FLOYD, but, Dream Theater rules, and this is simple good

  • noobs....listen the original....

the woman's screams are an important part of the song

  • assolutamente no, non è all'inizio di eclipse

  • U.S.E.L.E.S.S.

  • This is the best sample of which it is to play music without feelings, music is much more that they try to do. Boys, that is not learned in any conservatory. They will never sound similar to the perfect and delicate sound of Pink Floyd, I am sorry by you. I liked DT too much until I was found this.

  • Incorrect. Dream Theater have just as much emotion as any band. They are technicaly virtuostic as well. Enough that they cover the music that they love, in fact, and have worked to achieve the sound. ALL truly expressive music has feeling. Replicating Pink Floyd is very hard to do, and they did a good job.

  • F U C K dream FUCKING theater

  • Damn, metalheads are so uptight, you guys bitch about about everything.

  • that woman was too loud.. the band is supossed to have the leading role not a woman screaming like hell

  • Learn what real music is besides Progressive Metal, although it's the greatest, she is a amazing vocalist, and although she's not your preference, she is best out of a lot.

  • Holy fucking shit! That was just AMAZING, amazing...this is proof that DT is not just a technical band, but can play simple stuff (i.e. in this case a hell of a lot more difficult to play) with great sound. DSOTM, like Sgt.Pepper, isn't just an album....its a goddamned piece of all that's good about humans put into one CD, a piece of history. Thanks PF, and thanx DT!

  • Yeah i agree. It wouldnt be complete without the lady's vocals (though they arent as good as the original).

  • have you guys heard the original? Her voice is a major part of the song

  • I liked her vocal part! Great cover too, one of the better ones I've heard.

  • agreed with Dreamwar... she fucked up the song

  • You're also an idiot.

  • ^^ lol exactly

  • Roger Waters should be proud of Dream Theater's cover of DSOTM

  • awesome! brilliant... totally different taste

  • Great cover thanks for putting it up.

  • Brilliant - Utterly brilliant! Thanks again

  • massa

  • My parents are getting me this for my birthday, but I couldn't resist checking out "Brain Damage"/"Eclipse"... FREAKIN' EXCELLENT!!!!

  • Is this on DVD?
