IM REALLY CONFUSED ABOUT THE P55 CHIPSET RIGHT NOW!!

right now, i have a similar board (Ga-P55-USB3 with the same PCI-E lane layout, but im not sure if the lanes work at 16X and 4X OR 4X and 4X.

I need to know because i have a UNUSED gts 250 i want to dedicate for physics and i know its not gonna preform well but it is better than no card AND IT IS NOT SLI

I think i saw that one on tigerdirect, but i decided to go with an EVGA H55 instead.

This one is really nice though. It would work out about the same. I like the 3 usb expansions on the motherboard (not like i need more though). The EVGA has 8 back side usbs. All functionality aside, i like the blue and white color scheme.

Question - I was quoted a price for different components for my PC which included the H55M-USB3 motherboard, I agreed to that price and when I got my PC back they had put in a H55M-S2H. Is there a major difference apart from the S2H not having USB 3.0, should I be mega pissed off? I feel ripped off!

@VTL67 Yes, the H55M-USB3 has two USB 3.0 ports, more SATA ports, support for two-drive RAID, 4 DIMM slots for RAM, 8 pin power connector. You should feel hugely ripped off. There are probably more things that I've forgotten to mention as well.

@KASHIF092 The motherboard has one IDE socket so you can attach up to two PATA hard drives without any adapters in addition to any SATA hard drives. On the other hand, you will not be able to connect any SCSI drives to the board.
