  • Your mom is wonderful. I cannot imagine what she has seen over her lifetime. 95+ yrs is a long time. Wow. One thing's for certain, YOU are her inspiration. As a mom of 2 myself, it's clear that she is very proud of you. Let her know she has a fan club here on Youtube wishing her the very best.

Our of curiosity, did your mom work in pottery when you were a boy?

  • Wow, Simon, she is a darling!!! You could tell she has been around pottery if you caught her tapping two of the cups together to see if they rang true. You are lucky to still have your Mum with you. Treat her kindly no matter what.

  • your mom like the pots you made....she"s verry proud of you Simon!

    grtz, Gerda

  • Did you give the white/bamboo one to your mum? She liked that one best, I think!

Not easy when our parents get old and poorly, is it? And my throat gets a bit sore after a day of yelling so my in-laws can hear me! Hehe!

  • Your Mum is a lovely lady. Thank you for sharing her with us.

  • Simon: Thanks for being at this world with us sharing such a sweet moment with your lovely mother and your excellent work. ;) E.-

  • Thanks, Simon. Your Mum would have a good eye for pottery I should think.

  • Your mother was really excited about the "oriental" looking pots. She really lit up with interest in those.

    Thanks for sharing Simon.

  • Simon, did your mum throw when younger?

I think you are a good son also. Thanks,

  • You are a good man and a good son.

  • How nice that you are able to get in a visit 'home'. Mum seems like a lovely lady - I hope you remembered some Moscatel for her!

  • Hi Nancy - YES I did !! SL

  • She's lovely Simon!! Hope you are enjoying your trip. Anna

  • Thanks Anna - hope you are relaxing after last week ! SL

  • Thanks for sharing such a nice visit with your Mum. Mine lives with us, she's really something special, too!;-) May Blessings to you both. I starting to save for a trip to Spain, what time of year is the best for traveling? I will be coming from New England, USA.

  • Thankyou Simon.

What a wonderful clip to share with us. Like DebraRay, your Mum reminds me of my Grandmother. She always appreciated when I brought my crafts to share with her. Spending time with family is the best gift of all.

    Regards, Sue.

  • How sweet.

I must say, I like your glazes.

I see these Japanese tea bowls that are all lopsided and made to look like their beauty is unpretentious. Personally I don't care for asymmetrical tea bowls. Yours have a lovely shape, and the glaze is, I think, very natural and unrefined looking, which I like.

Whereas the purposefully lopsided tea bowls, as if the craftsman has no care for how they come out, well that looks pretentious to me and frankly not attractive

    I much like yours better.

  • God love ya Simon, I can't even get my son to call me sometimes!! Give Mum a kiss on the cheek for me.

Warm regards from Debbie in Florida

  • Simon,

Thank you and your Mum, for such a wonderful few moments in time.

Tearfully I watch how proud she is of you. Your Mum is beautiful, remindes me of my dear Grandmother, with her beautiful white

hair. You are so very lucky to have her with you all still. My grandmother passed along time ago.

    Thanks again.

    DebraRay

  • Hi Simon:

Did your mother made pottery as well?

  • Oh! that wonderful mother.

    Thanks Simon.

  • Very touching moment. "Very good dear"

  • What a lovely video, Simon. Enjoyed it very much - your mother seems so proud of you. Thanks for sharing.
